They will then attempt to hijack the thread and get back to their pet issue. The name comes from the storybook references to a Troll who will hide under a bridge and jump out to attack when someone crosses. You may acquire a personal troll, who will just follow you, or they may be attracted to a particular issue. For example, I do not think that the Saiga .308 is as accurate as many claim it to be. If the thread in question is about what kind of group size that one can expect from a S308 and I say 4" to 6" and everybody gets mad, that is not trolling, it is an unpopular opinion (fact...). On the other hand if someone posts a thread about the best folding stock for a S308 and someone else posts an inflammatory post about how poorly one can expect them to group, that person is most likely a Troll. I know that this is the correct definition, I was there right after that liar Al Gore "invented" the Internet and the rest of us coined these terms! OH yeah, thats because I didn't do the thing in question, Most of our mods here are fair, unbiased guys, who can tell who is following who around, and therefore who is the actual troll. On another note, You will find different answers to your question here, according to some, if your making comments purely to start a fight, thats considered trolling, I would agree with that. And there are others who will call you a troll for disagreeing with them, use logic to prove them wrong, and they call you lots worse than a troll. And there are some that do make post to illicit an argument, then call the person they were hoping to call out a troll. Its a very complicated system, and made more so by the fact that the rules keep changing, to suit the one making these "rules".
