ben4345 123
I have a Kvar butt stock for my AK. When ever I try inserting my cleaning kit, it just gets stuck. Am I inserting the kit wrong? Or is it just a piece of crap? If, so, should I just remove the spring in there, I finding the spring in there is making annoying sounds. sidewinder11 7
I don't bother to use it. Gun is heavy enough Edited November 19, 2011 by WarHammer28

I've had ones that work and ones that don't. So I don't bother with it.
canoecanoe 63
All it does for me is pinch the sh*t out of my finger. Edited November 18, 2011 by canoecanoe
csspecs 1,987
I've yet to find the cleaning kit space to be useful.
Kalash103 0
Kvar furniture is not exactly the same as russian regardless of what they claim. The consistency and QC just isn't there. It is hit or miss as many have reported. Edited November 17, 2011 by Kalash103
chevyman097 2,579
Mine was a little tight at first too. I cut a bit of paracord, tied a knot in on end, then poked it through the hole in the cleaning kit lid and tied a another knot so it wont come out. This way i could pull it out if it got stuck. After a few times taking it in and out it loosened up....get your minds out of the gutter! Ya the trap door is pretty good for pinching fingers, but i actually do find it pretty useful to have a cleaning kit on hand. In my experience some cleaning kits vary in size. You might also try a different kit.
imarangemaster 315
MIne on my K-Var PLum works fine. You just have to develop a knack for how to stick your finger in and retrieve it.

Joesmoe 14
Mine works fine, in fact I can almost use it as a weapon because when I open it my cleaning kit comes shooting out like a bullet lol.
modrisco 16
The cleaning kit would always bind in the trap door on my Arsenal SGL21-61 when I first got it. Fortunately, it was easy to fix. Take off the rear trap door plate with a T15 Torx screwdriver. Take away some of the material from the plastic ribs that makes the cavity with a small rat-tail file. Test the fit with your cleaning kit, and repeat if necessary. Once you think it's right, replace the rear trap door plate, and test again with the cleaning kit. You may need to repeat the entire procedure.
rightwing87 0
All of my KVAR buttstocks have been inconsistent. The cleaning kit will come out easy sometimes and sometimes it won't at all. I'm using Bulgarian stocks now and they have no issues.
GregM1 241
i have had no issues with the two kvar i own. i did notice they changed the finish from matte black to semi gloss black though. that i didnt care for.
BuffetDestroyer 969
Once in there, use the cleaning rod to push the door in so you don't get your finger stuck. You need the rod anyway if you need the cleaning kit.
Revolver Ocelot 3
I had to file down the butstock inner walls a bit for mine to fit.
