chevyman097 2,579
Like it says. Wondering where the best place to buy a Tokarev is. I see Aim has them for around 250 cant and JGsales has them for 149.95? if you buy two or more I think it was 179 for one...but im leary of JG I had dealt with them in the past but just heard a few disappointing things over the last year or two. I know aim is very reputable so leaning towards them. But anyone know other vendors that have them in stock right now? Classic is sold out. Running out of googlefoo
patriot 7,197
...Make sure you get an East Bloc Tokarev.
chevyman097 2,579
Aim has the polish ones. I can't find any other venders with much in stock. Guess I could his some gun shows......but prefer not to.
patriot 7,197
Polish would be good. The real deal...
scattergun10 125
Aim has the polish ones. I can't find any other venders with much in stock. Guess I could his some gun shows......but prefer not to. Looks like AIM is now sold out of the Polish Toks, but they still have the Romy. I would get a Yugo M57 if you can find them. Very accurate little pistol and it holds 9 rds. instead of 8 like the other Tok variants.

Very accurate little pistol and it holds 9 rds. instead of 8 like the other Tok variants. only thing negative about the M57 is the magazine, it takes a proprietary mag, you just can't buy a regular TT33 mag because it won't work. as for gunshows, you never know what you might comes across from somebody walking around. a couple months ago I picked up a 1944 soviet TT made at ISHVESK, for 2 hundred bucks. whoever plugged up the added safety did a real nice job, you really can't tell just by looking. now this TT looks like what Fedor Tokarev designed it to look like Edited September 18, 2014 by Matthew Hopkins
PRISONSHANK 70
I got a romanian from classic a while back and it was pristine, great shooter and the action was better than i expected.

VR762Shooter 838
Southern Ohio Gun has Polish toks in. Not sure of price you're looking to spend but the Pol goes for a bit higher with them. I been wanting to get a Pol to complete the Tok purchases but haven't been able to justify the added price Edit to add pic of the Romy and M57. Got the M57 and the Romy from Classic last year and both were immaculate. Romy M57 Edited September 19, 2014 by VR6Shooter

chevyman097 2,579
Im really thinking for now i might go for the Zastava from Classic arms. I mean its brand new production and has great reviews. Like stated the only thing its mags arent as available. But i dont really see that as an issue. IT comes with 2 mags anyhow. Anyone have one of these? The reviews at classic seem great. And the price is wonderful.
storm6490 2,768
You could buy one cheap from one of the hundreds of Illegal Russians roaming the valley of Montana. Nobody believes they exist so you might as well just take one. The "authorities" can't do anything about something that does not exist. The only thing I would do with a Tok is collect it. It really doesn't trip my trigger but it may for you. I would not pay more than 100 bucks for one. Some go for hundreds that are more rare but those are safe queens and obscurities. Most of them are C&R. Have one mailed to you today!
james lambert 3,059
I would like to go get one of those tokarevs. I which of Montana's hundreds of valleys are the hundreds of tokarev armed illegal Russians roaming. Will they be roaming all winter? Or do they roam elsewhere during winter. Is it hard to find the roaming band of hundreds, do you have to track them? Do you have a satellite fix on them? if so send coordinates to my secret location. Is it ok if I give the info to other OPERATORS? they may want to go get some tokarevs as well. The M57 and similar are actually more comfortable in my hand. I don't have gigantic hands by any means but it has a better feel with the longer grip. Feels more sturdy. I'm sure there are others that feel the same way. New production should be similar and there are also some available in 9mm which may be better on the supply side of ammo
Arik 565
When ammo became expansive and hard to find I sold off all of mine. They are neat but not something I'd bet my life on (after import). If they had better sights, trigger and/or saftey I might think about a 9mm....if it fed HP You could buy one cheap from one of the hundreds of Illegal Russians roaming the valley of Montana. Easy to find. Pick up a paper and find a great deal on a used car that seems too good to be true. It's probably a russian hack job. Hundreds, want to bet? I do. ktcm7271 999
I got a nice m57 at a gun show for under $250 about 4 years ago. Mags are hard to find though.

Running out of googlefoo I highly recommend the Polish or Yugoslavian pistols over the Romanians. The Romys are alright, but the Polish have a much nicer fit and finish, as do the Yugos - but the Yugo pistol also uses its own unique, rare magazine. My only TT pistols are old Chinese ones.

JESS1344 The add on that's on my Romanian is very tough to move, doesn't seem to be all that safe, and is an eyesore. I don't really want to do much of anything with it though as the removal and fill can be a pain to get a matching finish after. The safety on the M57 is smooth and seems more like a safety than that of the Romanian, still isn't all that safe though but is better than the Romanians by far
