  1. For the record, I really like the show. I have all the episodes on DVR, and enjoy watching them. The one thing that gets me about all these work-based "reality shows" is that they can all be summed up in one statement: Owner of (pawn, gun, car, etc.) shop: "They better get to work or they're gonna get my foot up their ass!!!" And I do like "Top Shot", too. The challenges are all fun to watch
  2. I like the CAA 6-position stock. It has a recoil pad built in, and it doesn't have that annoying exit angle that the Tapco collapsable stock has; it is directly in-line with the receiver.
  3. I agree that the x39 has low enough recoil that she'd enjoy that.
  4. Welcome to the forums! It doesn't matter what the 'purists' think; these guns belong to the owner and he/she can do with them as they please, or as their bank accounts allow... LOL! Where you at in Ohio? I moved back to PA after 15 years in Ohio in the Canton/Massillon area.
  5. I miss the NWA days of the mid- to late-1980's. The Four Horsemen, Dusty Rhodes, Dick Slater, Kevin Sullivan, Nikita Kolov, the Road Warriors.... I got to see a bunch of them at the Great American Bash on tour in 1987. That was some good stuff!
  6. I have the SGM on my S12, and I like it. It looks good, and the built-in rails offer plenty of modularity. And the SGM doesn't look like some toy add-on.
  7. They look good, godfatherJ! You had a great feeling of accomplishment when you got done too, didn't ya?!? That is the BEST part of the conversion for me.
  8. Welcome aboard, papi! There's a ton of great info here and lots of good people who will answer any questions you have. Always glad to see a new shooter on the forums.
  9. Neat thread idea! Most recently, I got to meet and drink and laugh and talk with Jennifer Knapp, a former Christian musician who has gone mainstream. Saw her at a small venue in Akron, Ohio last June. After the show, I was outside in a smoking area with about 6 other people and she came out to have a scotch and a smoke. She and I talked for a LONG time; probably an hour and a half, and about anything from hockey to racing to music to England and everything inbetween. Cool chick, and I was very impressed! (met the following when I worked as a security guard at Caeser's in Atlantic C
  10. I first heard about the S12 from a Gabe Suarez email outlining his top 5 home defense guns. I'd never heard of a 'Saiga', so I started researching it. Liked the idea behind it, and decided I wanted one. Poof.... Here I am! (and many hundred dollars poorer, I may add... )
  11. You'll want to install a bullet guide. It's easy if you take your time.
  12. I ran my x39 for about a month in it's imported config for popping groundhogs when I lived in Ohio. It serves that purpose well, but I have to say that after I dropped in the Tapco G2 FCG, I don't think I'd ever run without one again. The pull is so much more crisp and controlled. Now that I live in PA it really doesn't matter; can't use a semi-auto for any kind of hunting. Hard to believe our neighbors to the North in New York can now hunt with semi-autos and we can't... go figure.
  13. Great video! Only thing I'd suggest is using a lighter color for the text that you display. It's hard to see the black text against a dark background. Other than that:
  14. NorthCentral PA here.... I like the regional idea, too!
  15. I understand that. I was just giving my $.02 on my scope like the OP wanted. I probably own a TON of products whose inventors/owners/presidents are idiots, I would suppose, but the function of said products aren't better or worse because of it.
  16. Hm... I have an NcStar 4-12x30 on my x39 and it holds zero perfectly. I really like the scope and it has performed great for me.
  17. I have the same Howard Leight Impacts that you have. The do indeed pick up in stereo; each muff has its own external mic. Love mine. I have even given them as gifts to my shooting buddies.
  18. Damn, dude.... here, rub some salt into that wound, why don't ya?? Seriously, I am glad that you weren't hurt in the incident, and I can only imagine just how pissed you are. As was stated above, I'd pursue this to the end of it's legal limits. If the tables were turned, and you were the one who committed the infraction, you KNOW said crack-whore-lookalike would be all over you like a hobo on a hotdog.
  19. Welcome to the world of pleased CSS customers! We are all certain that Greg has some sort of telepathy that he uses to tell us what we want, and he ships it 2 days before we know we wanted it.
  20. I don't see the practicality of these unless you had a magwell. Then again, if you have a magwell, these might not be a bad idea...
  21. Now that is the smart man's option.... but no one ever said I was a smart man...
  22. I understand exactly what you are saying, but I want a matched pair of 1911s. And I agree that Kimber firearms are top quality as well, but I want that matched pair, and I just can't spend the money for two Kimbers. ...just something that I want to do. I've always thought it would be kinda cool to have a pair of .45s that were identical with upgrades and compensated barrels.
  23. Yeah, I am starting to see a pattern here.... LOL I do really like the top one. That one really speaks to me. It's saying, "Don't let that money burn a hole in your pocket...."
