  1. I have some on order for the Tapco AK stock. Check back with me in a week or so. Greg Checking back.......
  2. Is there any more to that story? What kind of weapons were they? What made them illegal? How long after he bought them were they seized? I go along with the concept that if it's time to bury them, it's time to dig them up!
  3. Oh man.... you are really making me miss my old '75 Grand Prix. Let me know if your buddy ever wants to sell the Bonnie.
  4. >>If not the Fiocchi what else could be wrong? What is the DRAM rating on it? I would have to agree, it sounds like the Fiocchi is loaded with a light charge. Doesn't sound line a gun problem since it's cycling ok otherwise. Try some Nobel Sport 00 buck in it. That cycles damn near as hard as slugs. Thanks for the info on the pad, I may get that one if I don't see anything else I like.
  5. The big thing to check for is that the gun has at least 3 gas ports and you can put a paper clip through each one. I did that and made sure everything looked straight and was put together well, I didn't fire mine before converting either.
  6. Standard AKs don't have the puck, they fire a round that's easier to extract and it's pretty much the same type of round every time. They use the gas piston that is on the end of the bolt carrier. The S12 needs the puck for the gas system to provide sufficient force to extract the larger 12G shells and to allow the addition of the simple valve that is used to regulate the gas for different types of loads. The S12 design also allows easier cleaning which is required since you get a lot more carbon and even plastic in the gas system. EDIT: Yes the factory BHO is manual only, no LRBHO on
  7. Good info. Was the Fiocchi marked as low recoil? Did you try gas setting 2 with it? Yep, the slugs really kick. My daughter tried the S12 with some Nobel 00 buck and she said it felt like a punch in the shoulder. She likes the AK better. I have the standard AK Tapco stock and am looking for a pad for it. You mention the "heavy Soviet AK buttpad"..... where did you get that, any pics?
  8. Actually I did just think of one that happened about 6 weeks ago..... A buddy and I were at the gun shop/range to pick up his new XD .45 and try it out. I brought my Baby Eagle .45 too as I was due to put in some range time with it. So we each go through 50 rounds with our own guns and then he says he wants to switch guns to compare. I loaded up a mag for him, racked the slide to chamber a round, but for whatever reason I de-cocked the hammer. I left it in the stall, told him "It's ready to go." and walked over to his stall and I started loading a mag for the XD. At this point I will s
  9. What the hell is wrong with the Old Pancho? +1 Some people have no appreciation for old classic cars. I'd gladly have that old car than some crappy Lexus any day! The laundry basket in the back seat is a nice touch too. Great pics with two good ole boys shooting out in the dark in the headlights of the old car. Beers in the coolers on the hood of the car....... pretty good evening if you ask me.
  10. Or maybe just everyday generic crooks looking for a reason to get into the house to look at the valuables.
  11. Most of you have probably seen this, but this thread topic just begs for this link to be posted........ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZE3QAeYRk-A
  12. >>I agree with you 100%, just trying to explain the thought behind banning the street sweeper. Yep, we knew your context...... the frustration is just with the situation of people still thinking 2A=hunting rights. >>IMHO, the 2nd amendment especially protects a right to own mi,itary style weapons. "You bettcha" as my favorite governor would say!
  13. Which has nothing whatsoever to do with the 2nd Amendment. We aren't guaranteed the right to keep and bear "sporting" arms only. Of course "our" Gubmint disregards the Constitution whenever it pleases.. and the average moron on the street seems both ignorant of and indifferent to it. Absolutely! It's even arguable that the feds overstepped on banning full auto. The whole idea of 2A is so the people have comparable weapons to the armies of the Govt. 2A will be dead if we are limited to sling shots when the Govt. has machine guns.
  14. I wish there was a cheap simple one like this for the Tapco standard AK stock. Any suggestions for the standard AK size stock (Tapco/K-VAR)? EDIT: At least two of us looking Frustrated.......
  15. I got my Tapco stock (and all of my conversion parts) from you guys. Everything is great, my bruised shoulder just needs a recoil pad. I have this stock: http://www.mississippiautoarms.com/index.p...products_id=392 any suggestions for a pad?
  16. LOL...... nice mental picture..........that would make a nice Norman Rockwell collectible plate.
  17. All the guy needs is some sand bags in the living room window to get the right "ambiance". http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.asp?Item=131128222 (Not my auction Mods, remove if you need to, I just thought it was very cool and worth seeing)
  18. Be very careful about discharging firearms in incorporated areas. Know your state, county, and local laws regarding firearms. I have recently had squirrel problems with them getting on my roof and into the attic. Trimmed the trees, and they were just jumping farther to the roof, very persistent little bastards! I attracted the attention of the neighbors running around my house with a pellet gun trying to bag one. Once I explained that it was only a pellet gun and that I was after squirrels everything was cool. I had a talk with my neighbor across the street and told him how I sucke
  19. The Benelli sounds nice, but you are stuck with the tube magazine. I'd much rather have a fully broken-in S12 with a drum full of 00 buck/slugs for serious situations. IMHO, fix the S12.
  20. I like the drop down coat hooks on the shallow wall. I'd bet that would be easily missed in a search by bad guys. Many of the other ones would get found. The false vent below it would be found, no room for duct work in that wall. Vents get checked anyways. Good thread subject.
  21. Speaking of .45's, I just saw that FN also makes a highly rated one..... the FNP-45. Man I need to stop my online gun shopping......
  22. That was my first thought too. I wonder if the Fuglystick will work with this shroud...... http://forum.saiga-12.com/index.php?showto...st&p=355082 EDIT: Looks like Cobra already answered that question..... AWESOME! http://forum.saiga-12.com/index.php?showto...st&p=367800
  23. Why the double hook trigger? Did you mod the receiver for the double hook? (And is it binding?) Did you mod the trigger for the S12 (remove hump)? Edit: Yes, the hammer hump. Thanks Chile.
  24. Try Image Shack...... put it back up, I want to see the pic! http://www.imageshack.us/
  25. I'd like to have a 5.7 combo too. The thing that gets to me is the cost & availability of the ammo. Yes, you can get it, but it's not like you can stop at Walmart for it. Maybe Termite has some feedback on 5.7 availability.
