Bullet Eagle Tattoo
seanie replied to RobRez's topic in General Discussion - Any topic is welcome here!!!
Looks good man! One thing I always hated doing was tattooing anything that looked metal. You pulled it off great! -
Are you using hollow points?

I'll take the Vltor adapter. PM sent -
Looks cool as hell man. Any feed issues with the magwells being separate from the receiver? How tight does it all lock up?
-
Sucks you live in Cali. Good luck with the comversion, and be sure to put up pics when it's all good to go!
-
PM sent about giving you mine for free. Keep your cash, or donate the $10 to the forum.

Sounds like a plan. What length barrel did you get? And are you going with surplus mags?

EURO TO US DOLLAR ? Please!!!!
seanie replied to harleyc's topic in General Discussion - Any topic is welcome here!!!
If you're lazy, you don't even need to type that whole phrase out. "135euros to usd" works just as well. I use it all the time at work. -
Wow, that actually looks pretty neat. I'm not sure if I would trust mounting an optic to anything plastic though.

I'm trying to figure out what your saying. You stripped the threading inside your hand guard? Are you sure you have the same screw that came with it? After I put on my Ultimak and cut down my hand guard I had no problems with it going right back on. I have since upgraded to the Ultimak tri-rail, so if you want me to send you my old hand guard screw it's all yours.

CAA AK Stock tube
seanie replied to urbantacticalgearreview's topic in General Discussion - Any topic is welcome here!!!
Wow, way to be dicks. I think it looks cool as fuck, and I've been debating picking up one of these tubes and a CTR stock for my .223. I'm not 100% sure now if I want to, after hearing about the screw problem. -
So as not to spam my other thread....im looking for a forend.

I like the Ultimak tri-rail, but it's considerably more expensive than the other ones you listed. If you're going budget, go UTG. -
He's saying, if you buy one and mount it on your gun, not to butt it up against the receiver or handguard retainer(if you have one). The reason for this, is when the quad rail warms up, it will expand. If it expands and starts to push off of your receiver, it could possibly mess with the zero of your optic. This is the same advice given in the installation instructions that come with the Ultimak gas tube mount. For what it's worth, I've only heard from one person first hand that the UTG quad rail isn't sturdy enough to hold zero, but I've heard from plenty of people who've had no problems

Any one used this before?
seanie replied to Alexc.s.'s topic in Conversions and Modifications for the Saiga firearms
I think the point of it is to do what every other left side charging handle does: Let you work the action of your rifle without taking your hand off of the pistol grip. With this setup though, I'd rather reach under or over the rifle like everyone else does. There's something about this that just doesn't seem right. Maybe there'll be a gen 2 or 3 that will work out pretty well, but this seems kind of basic, and somewhat dangerous. -
Venting the handguard - couple of questions on cutting the plastic
seanie replied to opto_isolator's topic in Tech Section
I just cleaned the edges up with a file, and then smoothed them down with some 100 then 220 grit sandpaper. I didn't do anything about the color, because honestly, I didn't really notice it. -
I know there is speculation going around that longer barrels are less accurate do to the barrel whipping, flexing, whatever you want to call it. Don't know if it's true, but it's something to look into.
-
If you're going to swap out the FCG, why not change out the piston too? That will keep you from dealing with changing all your floor plates. What about a new handguard?

Under $100 Red Dot??
seanie replied to paprotective's topic in Conversions and Modifications for the Saiga firearms
I voted other before I noticed that you wanted a HALO style optic with a 3-5MOA reticle. I was going to recommend a Bushnell Trophy, but it's a tube and 6MOA. http://www.midwayusa.com/viewProduct/?productNumber=673097 -
Where to get rail to screw into stock foregrip
seanie replied to finslayer83's topic in Saiga 7.62 X 39
I just used a Weaver rail mount that I picked up from a local sporting goods shop while it was on sale for like $2. -
You can go with HK style diopter(spelling?) sights. They require welding to the dust cover though. There's also a beryl rail out there somewhere with a peep sight on it. Other than an optic, that's all I really know about.

I like the Tapco just because it's cheap and solid, unlike the T6 stock.
