Israeli can of whoop ass
Cel replied to Vultite's topic in General Discussion - Any topic is welcome here!!!
This is actually pretty old vid. I remember watching this when I was in High School and that was back in the 90s. IIRC, that was from an old program called firepower on the discovery channel -
closest one to Cali is Reno, NV 3 hours plus from where I am

Super Bowl commercial
Cel replied to mgconnor13's topic in General Discussion - Any topic is welcome here!!!
Most of the commercials that were on this year were very bland and some quite stupid. As for this commercial I found it really, well, stupid is the best word I can think of, green police, more like Green Peace Storm Troopers. As someone who got their BA in Marketing there could be so many ways to advertise their Audi cars better. I remember the Volkswagen commercial that I saw several months ago about their diesel cars, and it showed countless barrels running down the street, to a dock, back up on a oil tanker saying how much we could save oil. That should have ran in the SB and I think i -
Accidental discharge today!

Sounds like you bolt had the pin already out of the body and hit the primer upon chambering. Have you ever disassembled the bolt before to clean it? If not maybe you got some left over cosmoline left in it that could have made it (the firing pin) protrude. -
SKS Upper Handguard Removal
Cel replied to RoughRider666's topic in Other Weapons - RIFLES (non-AK based)
As a proud owner of a few SKS I would suggest to be very very careful with what you are going to try. If you can see if you can get another person to help you, one to hold the hand guard and the other person to actually tap out the pin. I have a Yugo SKS that had previously been put in a monte carlo stock ( I put it back to wooden set up) that had its upper hand guard pounded to hell by the previous owner. I got lucky and got a wooden replacement from the internet for like 29 bucks plus shipping. Apparently Yugo SKS were not designed to have the upper hand guard replaced as individual parts b -
What's the worst handgun you've ever owned?
Cel replied to hkusp45's topic in Other Weapons - HANDGUNS
Sig Sauer .22 Mosquito! That thing jams no matter what ammo I used. I used the CCI Mini Mag ammo that was recommended by the manufacturer, and every other round that we tested it with. Every 5th shot it would fail to full chamber and I had to push the slide forward to chamber it, or it failed to extract on some rounds. When it works it fun, when it doesn't not I want to throw it at the target. -
When I fire corrosive ammo I keep a thing of Sweet 7.62 with me and swab down the bore with a patch or two before I clean my rifle. Then again, I am using ammo for Mausers and Mosin Nagants, so I would believe it would be okay for a Saiga, if not, hot water + patch's at the range should work.

Open Carry in SF
Cel replied to vbrtrmn's topic in General Discussion - Any topic is welcome here!!!
I lived in the Bay Area for almost my adult life ( I am 30 btw) until I decided I needed to move up here in WA. But I do not ever recall SF allowing an open carry policy. These were the tards that wanted to ban hand guns and I if I recall the NRA fought em on it. -
I went by big 5 a week or so ago and they had a M1 for 800 bucks. I thought wow what a steal, asked to look at it, and wow....that poor rifle had rust inside the chamber, outside the receiver and up and down all metal pieces But I am glad you got a very awsome 91/30!!! Gratz to you and may many more fall into your hands

That is a nice looking Tula 1934! W/ a Hex Receiver! I know, I got alot of Mosin-Nagants myself. Two M38's, 2 M44's 1 91/30 Repo Sniper, 4 or so 91/30 regulars. I still want to get my hands on a few more

Has anyone heard of Herter's? I saw a bunch of this ammo for sale but never heard of it.

California ammunition bill passes
Cel replied to waynebar's topic in General Discussion - Any topic is welcome here!!!
As a former California and Bay Area resident living outside the state I say "sigh". But that article was written on 9-12-09. I already emailed the Governor about the bill. It was my understanding that it was on his desk awaiting his signature or veto. I do apologize if I read it wrong and he already signed it. -
I am glad I ran across this thread! My girlfriend and I were looking into buying a shotgun, of course it was a Benelli, only because in the town we live in there are no, zero, 0, S12 Shotguns around. I think I will have one of the shops order me one and pay the fee! I rather have something that can be abuse like Bvamp said!

I voted with my feet and left the good old CCR (California Crapfest Republic) this summer. I don't regret it ( minus living away from all my family).

How is the quality of the side rail that is from Russia?
-
That UTG mount you have on your SOCOM Saiga, I have seen those on some auction sites, I was wondering if its the one with a lever on the bottom of it, and if so do you need or did you need to have any other part to attach to the side of the rifle (I am slowly trying to figure this stuff out ) Thanks Cel

I took mine off the other day and I had a heck of a time too. I looked close to it, it looked like the plastic mold was warped. I took a screwdriver that could have the bit removed, put the rifle on my foot (note to make sure you have no ammo in it !!! ) and used a the screwdriver near the back end of the hand guard just under the sight leaf and tapped it until it gently came loose. One thing for sure the russians made sure that stock was going to fit

Hi, I am fairly new reader and poster to these forums, and I have a question. The item to which i quoted, I have seen Tapco offer these on their site, but I am confused on which ones to purchase, either the (Single) or (Double). I am also a AK newbie, so be gentle
