  1. This is and will be a very basic stock 10/22 from the 70's for plinking or dispatching the occasional pest. It may get a set of "tech sights". Other than that it's getting a new ejector (it broke), mag release, and an extractor if deemed necessary. There are many very knowledgeable people out there on the 10/22 so I just wanted to see if there was any tips, tricks or must have parts. Tks for replies.
  2. I know nothing about 10/22's but have a relatives broke down on my workbench. Is there anything that is a "must do" to improve reliability or accuracy while it's under the knife? There are boatloads of parts available, and cheaply.
  3. That's easy. Road trips with the family; Marlin levergun in .357 mag with whatever handgun .357 strikes my mood. Both fed with speed strips and various handloaded ammos from mild to wild including .38 shot shells. Handles bunnies to bears and baddies too. If I knew there could be trouble there's always the more serious stuff.
  4. The smaller ones taste better. Don't hesitate to take one due to size. Have fun.
  5. I would like to see that video. Couldn't find it.
  6. If we keep sending emails to keepshooting.com asking for copies of the 8 rd mag maybe that would tip the supply/demand scales in our favor. http://www.keepshooting.com/saiga-12-gauge-5rd-magazine.html I for one would buy a pile of them. Thier 5 rd mags kick ass.
  7. The manual says not to dry fire. I'm a proponent of A-zoom snap caps. When you dry fire any firearm you are ramming metal to metal and eventually one is going to win. Some just take much longer than others.
  8. The target in the video seemed quite impressed. A gaping hole dead center on shot #11.
  9. Well, an MD20 is no Promag, but it's all I have.
  10. Tks for the replies. I'll start at 50yds as that's the longest shot we've taken so far. We just started incorporating slugs into 3 gun, our range is relatively new.
  11. For Multigun matches I'm using Fed bulk pack ammo and putting a hot round last in the magazine as a reminder to reload. So it's; poof, poof, poof, poof, POW(empty). Been using this; Winchester Super Pheasant Copper plated 12 Ga. 2 3/4" 1 3/8 oz #5 Lead Shot 25 Rounds Per Box Ammunition Md: X12PHV5 $18.50 a box. This stuff narrowly fits in the 20 rd drum but has a recoil and report much different than the low brass shells. http://www.ammo-sale.com/proddetail.asp?prod=SS%5F34637 I'm looking for a lower priced alternative, these work as stated but are $0.75 a rd! It must be birdshot Fi
  12. Where are you zeroing Remmington Sluggers for gun games? I'll be using a modified choke and Federal bulk packs for close up.
  13. A double case! Even better. I see one in my future in a lighter color.
  14. That would truly be a let down as If I remember right they are pricey.
  15. This? Condor Tactical 36-inch MOLLE Compatible Soft Rifle Case Black. If so that would be handy for multigun.
  16. That would add up in a hurry. Would probably bind up an automatic but have you tried cut shells? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k3M46XVfVOU
  17. I see only two ports in mine and it runs great.
  18. See post #2. Can you return the UTG?
  19. Too tall for my tastes, but to each their own. Chaos makes a set.
  20. Devil's advocate here... nothing against the Polychoke but I plan to keep it simple. Adapter to modified or IM choke. This will handle 99% of my shooting needs and keep my slugs POI consistent.
  21. I've got one of these on the way from Cobra Custom. He shines up and profiles the right spots and adds an over travel limiter. Will review it once it's installed.
  22. Speaking about that what ever happened to making one for the S-12. What does this do to the shot pattern?
