  1. Get you a blue heeler, it will take care of the rabbits while you're at work...
  2. Why wait for the rain to quit? It's an AR, lube her up and go shooting!!! Nice weapon.
  3. Well, I'd say that the M1991A1 (mine) has medium profile sights, they aren't as short as the old G.I. sights but they definitely don't stick up as high as the adjustable sights.
  4. Have one, love it, and I won't have any other type of safety lever on any other AK.
  5. You could easily commute from NH to a job in New York. It's hard to commute to a job in Texas from outside the state what with it taking over twelve hours to cross the state and all. I'm just saying, what's two hours on the road everyday (or four) when you can exercise all of your freedoms in your free time?
  6. I did mine like the Chinese "L" wire, easy as pie to assemble/dis-assemble and holds everything secure...
  7. Could you post a pic of your fix? I'm wondering why those idiots are using the mainspring to hold the axis pins...
  8. I agree, I think that the 12 gauge is a horrible choice for shooting past 50 yards BUT, it IS possible to hit consistantly at over 100 yards. It's also great to know your limitations so I see no problem with what the OP is asking...
  9. I'm staying away from the poly stocks like the Tromix, mine broke when the weapon fell four feet into mud...
  10. Broox, you've got your gas settimgs backwards 1 is most restrictive, 2 is full gas.
  11. They are built with a lower center of gravity and they can control their breathing better than we can. When we took our CHL classes I was so glad that my wife didn't out-score me but she annihilated the loud guy who's been shooting his 1911 for 16 years, it's practically a part of him, he's so good with it he doesn't need to aim. She proved him wrong, and she had never fired the pistol that she used that day before the test... I was so glad that I tied her score...
  12. No! If you port properly, and adjust your gas plug to the correct setting for what you are shooting, your gun will be able to handle whatever you feed it...
  13. I've been meaning to ask you that since I saw your sig. "No, you're way too mean and therefore you deserve to get capped!"
  14. There are a few pinned threads you should probably read that will help, but it sounds like you are going to have to jerk the gas block and drill out the ports or even add a port...
  15. Well, that answers that... Can you see any differences between the chambers of the two, length of feed hood, etc?
  16. I wouldn't say fan, but I am familiar with his work and I DO enjoy a few of his songs/skits...
  17. I gotta say, it would be pretty spooky to see a grenade land in the yard... lol! Even if it were blue, I'd still jump for a second or two until I realized it was inert...
  18. I'm with Indy... Also, does the forearm tab fit snugly into the receiver? I'm running a DPH, and I had to tap it in with a hammer to get it to fit, with a recess in it for the gas block to sit in, and a snug fit between the rear tab and the receiver, the screw is only there to keep you from pulling the fore-arm off if you pull down on it. All the rest of the forces are on the gas block and receiver.
  19. Why can't we get the suppressor from "No Country for Old Men"???? Ahhh, movie magic...
  20. Ahh, I guess I misunderstood. I assume the original screw is too short. When you finally get a screw, you could try trimming the end until it fits perfectly, just remember to round the starting threads a little so that you can get the screw started straight.
  21. Let me see if I can get back in touch with some of my boys in Va Beach. We used to have a pretty successful little car club down there and there were quite a few people from quite a few professions in it. Bob from HRFBODY was really into the AK's maybe he knows a few folks who can work on them...
  22. If the screw won't go all the way in, it doesn't matter what screw you install. Think of it like wheels on a car, if your lug nuts (or lug bolts for the VeeDubs) are loose, that takes all of the force off of the spindle and bolt head/nut and puts it on on the shaft of the screw causing a sheared stud or bolt in no time. With the screw all the way in, that puts the pressure on the head of the screw and the gas block which doesn't allow anything to move since there are enough threads of the screw into the gas block to actually get it tight. If it were me, I'd get a tap of the correct size
  23. He knows what he's doing, he's getting MORE done. I.E. more than a basic conversion and he wants it done correctly. Nothing wrong with that...
  24. Just to keep full disclosure out there, it would be a while before I can afford another S-12, at least a year, so don't go jumping into the pool on my account...
