What indoor range to you use in Gwinnett? The DNR has just ruined their outdoor ranges with no-fun-allowed rules and anal-retentive range officers. You are very lucky to have private land to shoot on.

I'll second that. As far as the work, the only problem I had was the surface of the rivets was hard as $%&%$##. I did buy the bitchin-disco bit from CSS, but that would not cut into the surface. I had to carefully dremel grind the surface of the rivets off, then the bit would cut. After that, just take your time and walk thru it.

The Russians are good. I have a pop can launcher for my AK and it sends full cans 200+ feet in the air 100+ yards down range.

One2za I feel your pain. I have been wingshooting for 25+ years and am pretty good with a shotgun. I have tried my S12 on doves and clays and have been dissappointed. I think part of it is the pistol grip. But most of it, I believe, is the site picture. The rifle type sites and the much shorter site radius give a very different look and I just don't have that "feel" that I do with a bead at the end of a long barrel. I have considered taking off the rear site, but it sounds like a pain and I like it for slugs and buckshot. Good advice above by all, but I just think it will take longer to get us

I don't know what kind of agency would do that or have any reason to do that. OP did you have you serial number written down and provided to the cop? That would greatly help. Your government does. Because they are A-holes. There is a bill in the GA assembly now that would stop local jurisdictions from detstroying guns they confiscate from criminals and make them try to find the legal owner. If the owner cannot be found, the gun would be sold at auction to 01 FFLs.

I have Cobra's Winchoke adapter. Good quality and good function. I admit that part of my decision was based on the fact that I already owned a set of Winchokes, but after having the adapter, and shooting the gun with it, I would buy it anyway. My younger son shot a <4" group with cheap S&B slugs at 80 yards off a bench with ImpCyl. I have used the gun dove hunting and it seemed to pattern fine (I killed some birds anyway). I have always been a hunter and the S12 is my only tactical shotgun, so I am predisposed to screw-in chokes, but I still think it is the way to go. I got the version

I am going to take my S12 dove hunting for the heck of it. Rather than put in a mag, load the chamber, remove the mag, top off the mag, and re-insert..... If I single load the chamber thru the ejection port and release the bolt, then install the 2-rd mag, will that cause any problems? Will I get a slam-fire? Will the bolt seat properly fire the round Will it extract that shell okay? Any other problems?

I wonder why? They say that is the area where they wholesale to retailers. It is to protect them.

It is a bummer that they don't ship to Georgia, Alabama and Tennessee. They do have some good prices. FYI, I cannot find either the 20 or 12 round promag drums on their site, not that it matters

Not a darn thing. I have one and it works fine. I can insert the loaded mag into my closed-bolt gun (no contouring or polishing done to it)

If you both are residents of the same state, you can meet face to face and do the deal yourselves. I would get a bill of sale. If you are not residents of the same state, or you don't want to drive to meet the person (same state sale), then he has to ship the gun to an FFL holder near you. I have done this many times. I ship the money for the purchase and freight directly to the seller. I go to my local gun store with a stamped envelope, addressed to the person I am buying the gun from. I also include a note as to the gun deal particulars in the envelope so the dealer, and the seller know

Here is a 3-shot group my son shot from a bench at 80 yards with the stock sights. I have Cobra's Winchoke adapter and an improved cylinder choke. The slugs were some S&B 1 oz that I have had for a number of years. I don't know the velocity, but the recoil is not bad. I was very suprised by the accuracy of the gun. Also the sights were well regulated, shooting about 3 to 4" high at 80 yards.

For what its worth, my Ruger Red Label hates the cheap Winchester shells. After shooting about 10 in a barrel, that barrel starts to have failures to eject. The ejector just pops over the rim and the shell sits in the barrel partially extracted. This is on my 12 gauge, but my 20 gauge has the same issue, though not as bad. It must be something about their plastic. AA shells work fine.

A friend of mine has used them on coyotes and he says they work great.

So do I need to send the whole gun, or just certain parts? If parts, what parts? Mine is converted with Tromix FGC and trigger guard.

Alright then get the Winchoke adapter that Cobra sells, or a factory choke. I bought Cobra's Winchoke adapter since I already owned Winchokes. That said, it looks cool (serrated end), is relatively unobtrusive and is well made.

I bought my kit from Carolina also. It worked well. I also bought the 3/16 cobalt bit and I'm glad I did. My back 2 rivets were very hard. I actually had to grind the top off one to get to metal soft enough to drill. You might consider the modifed bolt hold open. It would have made the in-and-outs required to get everything right easier. I would do the conversion yourself. It is not that difficult and there is plenty of help here. I bought the cheap Tapco AK stock. It works okay, but it is short. I bought the slip-on pad and it is functional, but ugly. I also got the Molot pistol g

Take the wood off the gun before you put the oil to it, so it won't get saturated. Verify that the gun is unloaded. Put a cleaning rod down the bore and make a mark on it at the muzzle. Then place the rod along side the barrel to make sure it is going all the way down to the breach face. Also the breach face will be hard compared to a bullet. It should also be silver-shiney if you have a light that can shine down the bore. Put the rod down onto the bolt face and have someone TAP on it pushing the bolt face back, while you try to uncock the lever. Have the hammer down at all times.

I tried my S12 out last weekend to break it in. While doing so, I had a lot of difficulty putting a loaded mag into the gun on a closed bolt. I didn't spead a lot of time really trying, as breakin was my main purpose. I did manage to get it done a few times, but the vast majority of the time it was a no-go. What is the deal with this? Is it just not the way they work? Are mods required? The mags were the stock 5-rd, a SureFire 2-rd and an AGP 10-rd. Also, the AGP locked the bolt back a few times. Are they designed to do this?
