  1. I've read recently that someone is going to come out with an effective brake that takes Win chokes. Maybe just a rumor, but seemed to check out at the time.
  2. I use the JTE large brake ( http://store.carolin...on-brake/Detail ) ; the Monster Brake from Tromix ( http://store.carolin...ke-Saiga/Detail ) is supposed to be the most effective.
  3. Copper plated deforms and fouls less. The lesser deformation results in slightly better penetration and accuracy.
  4. Good, yes it does, I couldn't tell about the stock and grip. Im not one to give you crap, just trying to help in case you didn't know about the rediculous law that I find myself explaining a lot to people I run into.
  5. Cool, but are you compliant?
  6. Try a fine grain of sand paper or a dremel tool and lightly sand and or polish it; you want to concentrate on areas that would wear first like edges, and areas where your hands touch. You can also try steel wool and similar mild abrasives to accomplish the look.
  7. He means setting 2 here. run your high brass on setting 1 never 2.
  8. How are the Tromix improved, harder metal stronger spring? Never had an issue with light strikes personally
  9. The 40 was an answer to the problems with stopping power of 9mm. Since then 9mm has seen many improvements to both projectile design and velocities. 40 still cannot be intelligently argued as being equaled by the 9mm.
  10. What no drum mag?.... Imagine how the police and thieves would've reacted to that, or the media had you been forced to follow through.
  11. I can legally OC where I live, but never do, never will, and never will suggest any people other than on duty police OC. I'm not saying it's dumb, but I do think it's not smart.
  12. The benefit of the windex is that it contains ammonia which helps remove fouling other than salts. Pure ammonia would harm the chrome, but as it is in common cleaners its a little better at removing crap than hot water. Mostly I just use hot water mixed with dishwashing liquid, then clean with a regular gun cleaner or CLP.
  13. I like my 5.45 metal mag, but only have one, I have multiple polymer mags bulgarian waffle is what I look for, but I only found the 45 round version so its the flat sided bulgarians and german bakalite that I have the most of. Stay away from pro mag and you should be fine
  14. I have multiple guns that say your wrong (jeep45238 & W8lifter). You shoot some coorosive ammo through your gun and let it sit in a normal environment and you'll see rust. I've runwater through my barrel sprayed simple green and windex through barrels multiple times and never has a spot of rust because you clean first, then dry and oil. most people are smart enough to grasp the concept. Salt = bad, water = bad, but water removes the salt, pretty much anything else is not effective or cheap enough to flush a gun with , so water is what we use. Guns get wet, but as long as they are serviced
  15. Not bad. Are they the same type of plastic as the other tapco AK mags?
  16. I think something that could put food on the table and threats on the ground would be ideal, also something that is easy enough to carry, so I'd go with my 7.62x39 mak-90, also i'd bring my p229 or g23 with two barrels. I would've chosen my saiga 12 but carrying it and ammo would be over weight limit for fast travel.
  17. Odd how some observations about exotic rounds contradicts some peoples first hand experience here.
  18. I would think you'd find no significant improvement in accuracy if switching from a MAK-90 to a saiga
  19. Saiga=AK How can you free float a barrel with a gasblock that attaches to the barrel in the way an AK's gas block does?
  20. The only way to achieve some breaking effect and minimize sound to the shooter is to get a brake that directs sound directly left right or up from the barrel, some like the tromix monster brake send the blast in these directions but also are slightly angled towards the shooter, this way achieves the best braking, but is typically loader as the balst is now directed more to you. Really brake and quite aren't typically found in the same sentence.
  21. I can't speak to the 5.45 aks but the saiga 12s can't fold right and cycle the next rounds, cause the stock blocks the bolt. I believe it is the same for the 5.45, you can mount it to fold left and it will work for sure
