  1. You want the same FSB we were talking about and is in the photo above. Then, you need an adaptor like this.... http://www.cncwarrior.com/ProductDetails.asp?ProductCode=23076 You screw the adaptor to the FSB, then screw the slant brake onto the adaptor. This is the only way I know to get everything you want, but others may have a better suggestion. You will also have a bayo lug as an added bonus.
  2. Thank you for your response. So out of the ones I've listed either Bulgarian gas tube should work? Did you buy yours from K-Var? No problem, happy to help. Lord knows I got lots of help from this site. No, I bought mine from a poster on here in the for sale thread. He had a bunch of bulgy milsurp stuff he was selling. His screen name was MarkW, but I havent seen him around for a while. The KVAR will work just fine, and you can add a cleaning rod and bayo if you want to.
  3. That is weird. The only thing I can intelligently comment on is the velcro looking patch in your pic. That is where one importers engraving was laser etched over and another importers marking were put on the other side of the receiver. Mine has the same etching. Some people sand it off, others leave it. Doesnt bother me.
  4. I know some have had bad experiences with classic, but I have always found them to be very professional. Keep in mind, it could just be a mistake. I certainly hope it is, and if so, they will/should take care of it. Its nuts. They are selling for what Arsenals were getting 2 months ago. Gun show in Fort Worth a few days ago they were selling for $800. I asked they guy if they were buy one get one free. He did not think I was funny.
  5. Props for actually inspecting your weapon closely enough to notice this.
  6. Never done the gas block, but the FSB is pretty straightforward. A press is nice, but not required for the FSB. I have a feeling the gas block is a tad more difficult, but someone else will have to chime in on that.
  7. Same here on the walmart limit. I really don't understand the limit thing, but whatever. I have plenty, so I guess I am just hoarding. It is just weird shooting ammo that I do not reload nowadays. I know with my reloads I can always make more. But with 7.62 it is weird to shoot it and not go buy more. It used to be the round I worried the least about being able to get. Now it is the most. Trying not to buy into the whole panic buying thing, and I have thousands of rounds, but there is a part of me that is concerned Russian imports of ammo will face Obamacide in the near future. I hope I
  8. Very intelligent post. The 4th thing will happen....just a matter of time. Once the panic buyers get their fill, the mass production will greatly overwhelm the demand.
  9. Welcome to the board! And congrats on your new addiction. Carolina shooters supply dinzagarms mississippi auto arms cnc warrior combloc customs This will get you started, but there are many many more out there. My advice is to figure out exactly what you want the finished product to look like, then make that happen. Tons of options, and just be aware that many products are not available right now due to the craziness. Once you get started, read the saiga 7.62 thread posted by Dad2142Dad, and use the search engine and you can build just about anything you want just from readin
  10. Sportsman guide is starting to show availability dates in the next few weeks on some popular 7.62 ammo. 500 round packs for about $120 and up. Not avail right now, but I would imagine in the next few weeks that stuff will be selling again.
  11. I have 2 AR's, and love both of them. I am not an AR sucks kind of AK guy. I just love guns, especially ones I can tinker with. Love the AK platform though as it is much simpler and rugged than the AR platform. Honestly, I would suggest a 74 brake. I would try and stay away from the 74 "style" brakes, but they are not that bad. The real 74 brakes just seem to work better, IMHO. If you do put a 74 brake on, you will need to bore out the middle so a 30 cal bullet can safely pass, although some argue this is not necessary. Any gun shop can bore it out for less than $20. Mine is bored out t
  12. Nicely done! Love the piles of ammo....that is a nice touch.
  13. I hear those are really good. I had ordered some slabsides from classic, but I called just to make sure they had steel feed lips. They didnt, so I cancelled and went with polish mags instead. Gotta say, I am pretty impressed with the polish mags.
  14. 22lr. I load 5.56, 9, 40, and 45, so I am good there. Stocked up on 7.62. Just simply forgot about 22lr. Never imagined it would be hard to find at a decent price. I have a few thousand, but can you really have enough 22lr?
  15. Yeah, I am struggling to find 22lr right now as well. Value packs that were around 15-20 bucks, now selling for 50 bucks. No thanks. Others have mentioned this as well, but keep an eye on your local walmart. Get to know they guy or girl in the ammo section, find out when they expect deliveries. If you are there when they open the box, you can get some Tula 7.62 ammo for a good price.
  16. Prices are a tad high right now too. I am glad they have the Vepr, but not $1200 glad.
  17. That made my day! Thanks for posting. And you are right, it is hard to find non-depressing gun talk nowadays.
  18. That is the problem. Demand is jacking prices all around. The longer people panic buy, the longer the prices will stay inflated. If people would calm down a tad, the supply would catch up and even pass the demand, and prices would come down. Not going to happen, but it would be nice.
  19. If you are talking about the bulgy poly mags, there are a few varieties of them out there. The ones with the steel lips are supposed to be really good, but I have no experience with them.
  20. I have a bulgy "74 gas tube on mine. It works great. I believe any "74 gas tube will work on the saiga?????
