    Fail to fire

get an account on an PhotoBucket (or elsewhere) upload your photo on their site. they provide a the code that you copy & paste in your post. You get a few different sets of code, most folks select the IMG code to display your image within in their post as the S12 folks allow that, it's pretty straightforward.
  2. Yep, Beretta make good stuff. I have old Beretta 12ga I got back in 72 or 73 for small game. Don't hunt anymore, just punch paper now with my Saiga collection and other assorted long guns. I still have the Beretta, just a safe queen now. I was looking at shotguns a few months stumbled on this video, very impressive.
  3. It's a game changer, I love my adapter with the LRBHO. The AR version is out of stock and I have just a few AK grip versions left. Right now we are redesigning the AR adapter and completing a receiver kit for the DIY'er AK builder. Soon we will introduce a complete rifle under our new parent company. since I have the AR Bastard may I ask what exactly is being redesigned?
  4. here you go, this one has an asking price of 5K
  5. thank you Sir, I'll see what the look like when they arrive. if they don't help for 9am -5pm range time I'll return.
  6. Is anyone using the Meprolight Tru-Dot Night Sights? In a previous post I mentioned I have Krebs custom and XS 24/7 (front) on my S233 and was planning to do the same on my S762 but I stumbled on the Meprolight yesterday. They seems have pretty good reviews, so based on the reviews from Midway and OpticsPlanet I did order but still would like to hear if any of you guys tried them. Thank you in advance.
  7. There you go, nice workaround !
  8. Looks like the same one referenced in this post. Not what you asked but I purchased the 308 SAIGA SGM MUZZLE BRAKE from CSS. The configuration looks pretty much like the one in your post only the only SGM has four screws obviously for the bigger barrel and it is twice the cost. I like my brake and it does work nicely and I haven’t had to chase it down range (yet). Even with the two screws on it shouldn’t go anywhere with the thread locker. With my brake they sent out a plastic alignment tool with it so it’s probably the same deal. You install and check the alignment , then shoot it and re-t
  9. Fellow S12 members posted here I thought about one but ended up going with the krebs custom on my S223 with the XS 24/7 Front Sight Post
  10. I’d have to defer to the other senior member for the BG with the factory mags on .223. I have couple of S223’s, the one is a “basic conversion” and I’m currently using the Tapco 10rd mags and they work nicely. I picked them up from CSS, who is an excellent S12 forum vendor. This is off topic but I do know if you install a BG on the 7.62x39 for standard AK mags you could still could re-use factory mags after a slight trim, just needs a small bevel. Last year on my #2 S223 I went for the TAK-D original AR to AK mag adapter, we will call that Revision 1 which was the orginal design. TAK rec
  11. she looks pretty to me and at the end of the day all that matters is if you like. so any difference in weight or ergonomics?
  12. That is a negatory. If I remember correctly, can't you reuse the original "wire" retainer? Or would the plate you linked be the best of the two? I think you could and that’s your call but the retaining plate is really easy and very secure vs. playing with the old setup IMO. On my first build I considered reinstalling BHO & spring was the hardest part of the project but once I got past that and then began locking in the pins in with the retaining plate that kind of let me know I was there. After you do it a few times nothing too it but it was a challenge for me first time out. Ed
  13. I think I use to get Norinco years ago in .223 for my Mini14. I just remember the cheesy yellow boxes but don’t remember any issues with it. Just did a quick search and came up with these two links… http://forums.gunboards.com/showthread.php?162620-Norinco-yellowbox-7-62x39-steel-core-ammo http://forums.gunboards.com/showthread.php?288858-Norinco-7-62x39-Ammo-Buy-or-not-to-buy
  14. Thank you again ManCat for the detailed explanation, it is very much appreciated and thanks to ALL that replied. I checked it and I have no abnormal wear at this point. That could be because of a few reasons, low mileage and I always avoid dry firing it. I’ll pop the top and slowly release the hammer by hand before I allow it to dry fire but that’s is just me. I avoid dry firing ANY of my firearms. That said I could see a difference between my S762 &S223 G2 hammers as to how they square-up on the bolt. I took the advice of jdub23 (this morning) and yourself and dug out the original ha
  15. Thank you for the detailed explanation. I guess one could make the argument that Tapco should have produced a separate .223 only G2 trigger/hammer. Now I guess the question is are there other alternatives to the Tapco? In my case I just finished the TAKD BASTARD install and had to re-profile G2 hammer to accommodate the LRBHO, see image below of my Tapco G2 hammer mod and standard G2 without mod. Do you think it would be worth trying to grind it down the point of contact so she hits square, or are we beyond that angle? Thank you in advance
  16. You're correct, Tapco is selling thousands of trigger group upgrades and if there were any issues this board would be flooded. just because one guy post something negative doesn't mean I should buy into it... Now if you factor in the ammo storage and no worries at all, we would all just be stuck with a bunch of safe queens LOL. Thanks for the reply back
  17. Let me start by saying I own the S308, S762 and S223, my intent is only seek info and not start a caliber debate. I couldn't decide so I got them all, or almost … Just for fun I was googling this morning and I came across this post. The poster says “A standard AK/Tapco hammer can beat up and damage the rear of the 223 Saiga bolt and the firing pin doesn't seem to last as long as the standard one in the 7.62x39 model”, just wondering if there is any truth to that? That post could be found here. Or could it be that I'm misunderstanding it completely and he means any rifle converted with th
  18. In the Saiga you only have to drill the forward hole. if you used the standard plastic plugs just remove the plug in front of the trigger if you used plugs. You may just want to run the 3/16 drill thru just to clear them out. My back three holes lined up perfect on my saiga. What I was trying to describe is temporarily bolt up you adapter firmly with the three back bolts to locate the front hole. you need to mark and drill. Placement of that hole is key because if it is off that would off-set the back three holes. You could even go a size or two up in your drill index for the front hole
  19. What are your impression on ergonomics? Any awkward feeling in the wrist or does it feel natural. How about the trigger guard? Do you think there is enough room for bigger fingers or a winter glove set up. Any feedback is greatly appreciated. Pictures look great! N It feels pretty natural to me, I didn’t make it to the range yet but I don't see any issues there for me. I was going to try for the range today but a morning appointment took longer than expected. From my limited handling so far I have no complaints in that area. I like the way it is joined to the receiver in four lo
  20. @ Salt - Here it is, the old saying “it was worth the wait”. I think you will love it. If you are transitioning from the previous version and had milled enough off its very easy. Again just make sure you locate that front hole correctly so the back three holes line up perfectly otherwise you will have problems. IMO one of the keys to success is making sure the hole you drill in front don’t knock off the centers of the back three holes. You could even go up a drill bit size or two for the front hole you will be drilling, this will make sense when you see it. For guys doing this right out
  21. cleaned her up, one last pic with a slightly better camera
