  1. I have an older Colt SP1. Wouldn't mind having forward assist on it, and full push pin takedown. If it has the notched hammer, replace it with an unnotched one. That old slam fire prevention system would tear up the bottom of the bolt carrier and firing pin, and make things unreliable. Also, don't use any lube on the inside of the carrier or stem of the bolt. It will catch carbon like crazy and bake solid. And stay away from .22LR subcaliber adapters. They can clog up gas tubes with lead. We had to clean out the A1's with a 30 rnd mag of ball on full auto to clean the tubes o
  2. I like the Starship Troopers idea....Don't get citizenship until you serve. And breeding is one of the "perks" of citizenship! Looks like these kids are well on their way!
  3. My idea for a new shotshell....... .50 BMG with the neck removed. Should feed in double stack magazines and can even be belt fed! Size would be maybe about a 14 gauge bore.
  4. This shit's real! Meth got it's big start in WWII as it was given to keep the boys awake. Surprized that no one has started clandestine psudoephinephrine production. It's basically dextrose fermented with a strain of yeast in the presence of some enzyme. Really not that hard to do! Moonshine is harder to make!
  5. Bad plate or shepard's crook. If it didn't have the mount, I'd kinda like to do one wired with stainless safety wire on the outside for a unique look.
  6. The worst .22LR I ever used was the Winchester/Olin standard velocity crap the military bought. After 1 brick, had the 10/22 so dirty that the firing pin jammed forward, and the rest went slam fire full auto. Filled up the magwell with unburnt powder. (Bingham 30 rnd mag adapter) Also lost a High Standard pistol due to a Winchester Super X load blowing out the chamber at the extractor notch. (fire at gunsmith shop finished her off)
  7. Worst in WWII for us, uncle's boat got the bow blown off by a torpedo. Limped her home.
  8. I went with a Kicklite stock for mine. Only problem is screws loosening even under blue Locktite. Get a wisker pulled out of my moustache every once in awhile, but no pinching. After 50+ heavy loads with the Kicklite, no problem! With the old AK stock that Century had put on, those 50 rounds would have your arm in a sling for a month! My arm is still a little sore in some positions from my first time out, and it's been almost a year! Tweaking the gas system also helps with the recoil. Mine refused to fire even 3" on the factory #1 setting, because they didn't grind the threads down f
  9. Posted this awhile back! http://forum.saiga-12.com/index.php?/topic/90202-just-when-were-starting-to-get-22lr/
  10. Would you spray it on your privys? Would be better than than this stuff! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WLlGcNlseR0
  11. I run with alice gear. Some of mine dates back to WW II. (mess kit, canteen cup, ect) The snap pup tents can be really useful for making bigger hooches. Want a dirt cheap tent? Make a tube tent with black visqueen and black ag tape. Works great, waterproof, and doesn't take up much space. For NBC, I'm running Chech M10 masks instead of M17's. I'd be more worried about riot agents than CW agents. And if those MOPP suits aren't in the factory sealed bags, they're worthless! Keep all NBC filters and suits sealed as long as possible. If the possibility of use exists, then open the
  12. Alice large with frame and shelf, and a medium with just straps. Have 1 set for each member of the family. (though dad won't be packing anymore) Fleet Farm has used Alice large with frame for about $40.
  13. Skunk Stuff kills that smell pretty quick if you like smelling like mint.
  14. Actually, descented skunks are really affectionate pets. Damn near next best thing to a dog! Too bad they get a bad rap from rabies.
  15. Nothing that a tore apart microwave can't fix! 1KW of microwaves could turn it into a quivering pile of junk. It can also blind you instantly! So be careful when playing with a bare magnetron and waveguide!
  16. For the non-helmet people out there, I saw one guy that took what must have been a cigar butt to the forhead with all the sparks it made. I was surprized that he stayed up, as I braked hard to give distance if he fell. Would not want to get hit by something like that at 70 mph!
  17. I haven't been deer hunting since I bagged this one back in 94. 200 yds with a 5.56mm 62 gr JSP out of my Mini-14. I had fallen and got snow down the barrel. Cleaned it best I could, but couldn't see rifiling. First shot went unseen, but the second made this buck go 10 feet vertical, and take off like a shot. Ran about 100 yards and smack into a tree. The drag took 5 hours to haul him up the 150' bluff. At registration, everyone was looking at my buck, even though there were bigger racks there. Had 5 offers on the mount if I didn't want it. My only regret was my grandfather wasn't the
  18. I know two of those pics! One was my father's best man....lost to a VC gun position using a captured M2. The other was a pilot in my unit!
  19. There would have been a whole lot of dead bikers if that was me in that car! I would have been flattening them against guardrails, ect.
