  1. Are you referring to the Grip Pod? I see a lot of people use them, and I can see their purpose, but damn it I find them things ugly as sin. There has been ONE set I've seen that I would consider using (still unlikely), and I'm not even sure where he got them. The commercially available models use polymer legs, but these ones had all metal bipod construction. Personally, I prefer Harris bipods on a QD American Defense bipod mount. Easy on, easy off, and very solid. You can also then use whatever vertical grip you want, provided you have the rail space.
  2. I've never been inside a Saiga 410 before, so this question may be irrelevant. Does it have the receiver support pin in front of the hammer? If so, is the hammer able to clear it enough to make contact with the firing pin?
  3. I would say one of these is your best bet: It's an Ultimak gas tube rail. Pretty much frees up your entire lower handguard, it's quite minimalistic, and it doesn't break the bank at ~$100.00 (I think you'd also need the shims, +~$15.00, but I'm not positive. Read up.). http://ultimak.com/buyak.htm I can't speak from experience on this particular rail, though. Only the fact that I own an Ultimak product, and it's good quality.
  4. You want to mount a red dot on your handguard, but you don't want to spend more than $50? That's not a good idea, and here's why. You find a rail, you spend your $50 on it, mount your optic, and you might get away with it for range use. Maybe. Or, you mount your optic, rail fails to securely hold optic, optic constantly loses zero, now you've got a $50 paper weight. You then realize it might've been better to spend a bit extra for an Ultimak or Midwest, etc., and end up with one of those in the end. Now, instead of the price of the quality rail alone, you're in for the $50 paper weight, as wel
  5. One long gun and one.... Shit! Okay, Barret M82a1CQ and S&W 500. Kidding of course. I'll have a 5.56 AR-15 1/7 twist carbine with a Vortex Razor 1-6x24 on American Defense QD 30mm single piece cantilever mount, .30 cal suppressor, Surefire, one of the many freefloat picatinny rails (probably 12"), Harris 6-9 bipods on a American Defense QD bipod mount, KAC BUIS, don't really care what stock, but not the M4 stock (it likes to grab facial hairs). For a handgun .... Well, do machine pistol-ish things count? If so, I'll take the Cobray M11a1, which hopefully h
  6. Let's see. You were given 5 free shotguns, you planned on paying for a couple already. I would use that money, head over to Numrich's website, find what you need for each, and fix them up one by one. Nice collection you got there.
  7. I can't say whether it would line up with the Midwest rail, but these two certainly look like they line up to me. Unfortunately, the handguard is currently on backorder, but you never know where you might find a certain gun part/accessory from. It doesn't always have to be from the manufacturer's website. Good luck! http://www.texasweaponsystems.com/product-p/32310.htm http://www.texasweaponsystems.com/product-p/34310.htm (says you need a .600 OD barrel. I'm not sure what the Saiga .223 is, so measure.)
  8. Well, what I meant by 5 is, when mounted all the way forward on your rail, the front of the light hangs off some. From the on/off switch to the end of the rail, it takes about 5 slots. If you wanted to know how much the U/P latch mount alone takes up, it's about 3 as well, but since the on/off switch hangs off the back of the light, you're not going to fit anything onto the 2 picatinny slots that it covers. So, it makes since to include the extra 2. For example, in Chile's picture above, notice how there are 7 or 8 rail slots, but his light only attaches using about 3. Same thing with the Sure
  9. Got the X300 Ultra on my Glock 19. It attaches using a single rail slot, but if you're looking for how many it blocks, then it depends. If you're like me, I'd want it as far forward on the rail to reduce the shadow effect from the rifle, in which case I count 5. I don't think anybody would mount it in a different manner, but the entire length of the light takes up 11 slots. I have no experience with the Streamlight, but let me tell you about the Surefire... Bright as hell. At night, I can shine from one end of our 6 acres to the other, and almost turn it into daylight. You'd have no pro
  10. Done that enough times... Somehow, though, I've been very lucky in finding even the smallest parts (projectiles).
  11. There should be no need to remove the barrel in order to work on the trigger. Remove the sideplate, place your hand over the everything, or place it all into a ziplock gallon sized bag, and mess with the trigger and hammer. Cock it, decock it, squeeze it on double action, etc. From the Taurus and S&W revolvers I've toyed with, nothing "should" come flying out, but doesn't mean it won't. Just be prepared for it if it does. After making sure everything will stay put, then find the culprit to your gritty return. Just keep an eye on everything as you work on it. Just because something didn't f
  12. Sounds to me like it's binding on something.
  13. I think it would be interesting to do something based off of what SGL has said about groupings, but add a little twist to it. Get your hands on a Paradox Choke and see how it performs. I've never seen any videos on one or with one:
  14. Everybody's is the same, including mine. People shoot hundreds, maybe thousands, of cartridges without it causing a problem. If you think it might help, just remove the gas plug, cup your hand over the gas block opening, and give it a smack. That'll get rid of the majority of it right there, and the rest can be dealt with during cleaning. Do not go drilling new holes into your gas block, it's not going to help any issues, and will likely cause some.
  15. If that is your concern, then a gun safe seems more reasonable. Unless you're using one of the new furniture pieces which hide firearms, chances are a person will find it, whether in a case or in the open. Just my opinion.
  16. From what I understand, you still have to go through the dealer. The $200 is sent to the ATF from the purchaser, along with the form 4, etc.. However, my class 3 dealer sent off my form 4 and $200 for me, I just had to pay the money upfront.
  17. Well, what "I" would do is convert it, if it's not already been done, then buy some CSSpecs magazines (good luck breaking them), and have a hell of a time with an awesome shotgun. Don't get discouraged by the platform. Sure, it has its flaws, but when it runs, it runs like no other.
  18. Well, it looks like it's been done before, but this drum is listed for the VEPR 12 even though clearly that is a Saiga below. Also, it is listed for $635.00. Do yourself a favor, buy $635.00 worth of stick mags before buying that drum. Yes, they are cool, but not very practical. Quite bulky. http://www.saigacustom.com/Maxrounds-PowerMag-650-Vepr_p_193.html
  19. When I bought the CSS 8rd. magazines for my S12, I had to file all... 8? Maybe 10? to fit. The CSS .308's all work like a charm for me, though, even on a closed bolt. The fit could not be better.
  20. Can't say one way or the other if a 1/16th" is enough to cause any problems. I wouldn't think so, so long as, like Evlblkwpnz said above, the ID of your choke is larger than the ID of your bore. If there's a lip for a wad or a slug to catch on, I wonder if it would A. beat the hell out of your threads due to the stress caused by the velocity of each projectile catching said lip, B. cause a buildup of wad material/lead and cause issues there over time, or C. all of the above? Anyways, here's a couple of pictures of my bore/choke. Please excuse how dirty it is. Haven't gotten around to clean
  21. Seriously! Did you see how they treat them? They just tossed all the handguns into a pile stacked on one another. Just because someone has a shitload of firearms, they feel they have to run each and everyone one of them, without any reason other than sheer quantity? That's some horse shit!
  22. This what you looking for? Joking aside, I've never seen or heard of what you're describing for a Saiga. Hope you can find what you're looking for.
  23. http://www.timeanddate.com/countdown/generic?p0=263&iso=20170120T00&msg=Time%20left%20until%20Obama%20leaves%20office%22
  24. Very nice. Had a feeling it'd run. Enjoy it, they are loads of fun. Also, if you ever get tired of spending a fortune on ammunition and try using bulk pack bird loads, and it doesn't want to work on either setting, the Tac47 Autoplug worked for me. Mine would run Federal #8 on factory plug setting 2, but not Winchester #8, and the Autoplug made them run.
