    The grip angle on a Glock is almost exactly the same as a 1911. It's the hump on the back of a Glock's grip that throws people off. That being said, just stippling won't do anything to the contour or shape of the grip. For that, you'll need to get more involved. There's a video on YT showing the candle method. It's just like it sounds. You basically hold the grip hump high enough above the flame that it heats it enough to work with the polymer, but isn't melting it off.     I love both platforms. They both work extremely well. Testing with two different shooters was pretty odd. It sure doesn't make for convincing results, no matter what the outcome was, is or would have been.

    I haven't seen anyone demanding that they accept anything in this thread. More just pointing out that some of what has been sounds silly. Nothing wrong with that. If people want tolerance of other people's views, then you also need to deal with it if/when people view them as silly. It goes both ways.

    A lot of bars still do "wing nights". Maybe not as low as $.10/wing, but still pretty cheap at some places. I love me some good chicken wings, and I'm weird, because I always get another dozen to bring home and throw in the fridge. I love cold chicken wings for some reason. Um.....maybe because they are AWESOME!!! Yes. Yes they are! Is smoking in public establishments outlawed statewide in TX? A lot of places where I just moved from in SC let you smoke inside. Nothing like going to the local BBQ spot, stuffing yourself full of ribs and then enjoying a few smokes

    Maybe next time we'll luck out and he'll perform this test on his temple. Fucking idiot. Side note: If you have a Glock or other striker-fired gun and you need to perform a contact shot and don't want the slide to be pushed out of battery, just push on the back of the slide with your thumb. You won't hurt your thumb at all, and you'll be able to squeeze off that one shot without risk of pushing the slide OOB. Of course, you'll need to manually rack the next round into the chamber.     I gotta go with this. Just the fact that you're looking to pass this down through the family as an heirloom, my vote is for a really nice Colt. I've heard many great things about RIA 1911's. But I have to be honest, it just doesn't fit the "heirloom gun" part of OP's requirement to me. Now if we're talking about picking up an affordable shooter, RIA for sure. Just my opinion.     I've heard the complete opposite of that guy's theory. He says to run a jacketed round to douche the barrel of lead buildup. But there's conflicting advice that I've read many times that says all that does is compound the lead into the rifling even more. I understand the similar theory about running a few rounds of 5.56/.223 in an AR upper that you've been using a .22 conversion in. To douche out the gunk in the gas system with the higher pressure of the 5.56/.223. But blowing gunk through a smooth tube by way of pressure and gas is a different that thinking you can "clean" lead out of
