ernestmayhand 10
I'm pretty sure I've seen this on here before but the search is not cooperating. Anybody know where to get a hold of a 8 round factory mag? Checked gunbroker already.

Anybody know where to get a hold of a 8 round factory mag? Checked gunbroker already. Rusmilitary normally carry them and when they are out of stock (like now) they do keep a back order list. They are however a lot of money at £56 each http://www.rusmilitary.com/html/firearms_saiga12.htm
mike12345 18
yea thats $112.00 each for the russian 9rd mags, for those who dont know the 2 to 1 exchange rate of dollars to pounds. Its a bit much for a piece of plastic, but what are you going to do. I paid a little less when I ordered them a year ago. Edited July 5, 2008 by mike123456
ernestmayhand 10
Jeez...I think I'll just stick with the AGP 10 rounders and patiently continue to wait for my MD20.

kisatu 3
There are two places that i have found after looking for about 6 months. Both are pricey what we need is a USA based guy to get 300 from Izhmash at bulk discount and shipping and resell them for like 2-5$ more + the cost of reshipping them. http://www.rusmilitary.com/html/c-deact_magazines.htm http://www.guncity.co.nz/saiga-12ga-7-shot...xidp121627.html

The last ones he had were compatible with the magwell. They will not work on a gun without a magwell, they do not have the front catch (hook?).
SaigaUK 0
Afraid so, purchased the last two off Oleg about three weeks ago chaps. Believe he has some more coming into the UK in September.

Oh my...it was the funniest thing I read in MONTHS. There is no such thing as walking in to Izhmash and get super popular items at a bulk price. Izhmash likes it to keep stuff to themselves and distribute via their own affiliate shops. And mind you - even an official Izhmash shop down in Izhevsk does not have ANY eight rounders in stock, and that being for last, like, 5 years - you virtually have to HUNT S-12 8 rounders down, even in Izhmash's homecity. as for Oleg of Rusmilitary - I believe he's got a pretty close relative or such at RosOboronExport in Moscow. acca47 0
Speaking about those Izhmash affiliated shops (those in Russia of course) - one of them, Legion, lists 8 rounder for Saiga-12 for 1550 rubles - it's roughly $63. the price was valid for Dec 27 2007 Saiga mags at Legion site (in Russian) or translated by means of Google Translate: http://google.com/translate?u=http%3A%2F%2...sl=ru&tl=en Google translated Russian word "magazine" as "Shop" - like "Shop 8" - that's indeed most widespread meaning of "magazine" in Russia cause it's a place where one would buy, say Vodka Kalashnikov Edited August 29, 2008 by acca47

kisatu 3
yes, i did my homework and you would have to go to http://www.atlanticfirearms.com they deal with Russian American armory. I think even Russia American armory will not deal with retail, only wholesale. I'm glad i got everyone to laugh, but i called atlanticfirearms about a year ago and he said if i wanted 100+ he could put the order in. Same goes for the 5rd's. How ever i did not have anywhere near that kinda of money or the means to resell them. I also took the liberty of contacting Oleg Via email and by phone. He said he has BOTH, magwell mags and "classic rock and lock" mags. Expected to come in during November. You are right he is sold out at this time. The other sight i listed (guncity http://www.guncity.co.nz/ak47-saiga-tigr-xidg11698.html ) has both the magwell and the "classic rock and lock" mags in stock but both are only 7rd due to NZ laws. I contacted him as well he said you can file down the follower or use a 5rd one to make it 8 because it is the same body as the 8's. I have orderd from Oleg at http://www.rusmilitary.com/html/c-deact_magazines.htm before and it takes time to ship but he came threw.

bobotech 3
Serious question, what is the huge draw to the Saiga 12 factory 8 rounders? I mean we have the AGP mags and even now the Promag 10 rounders, why bother with the 8 rounders?

I mean we have the AGP mags and even now the Promag 10 rounders, why bother with the 8 rounders? Perceived quality plus smaller, more maneuverable size than 10 rounders. hartzpad 0
The real reason is because they are 8 rounders made in Izhmash at the home factory of the Saiga shotguns. They are rare. I've got two and will never part with them.
bobotech 3
I guess I'm just not a collector then. I would rather have the 10 rounders than the 8 rounders. Whomever makes them is kind of irrelevant to me.
kresk 10,063
Think the OEM eight rounders will always hold a good value--pro'lly $120-$150 each.
kisatu 3
I can fast change 5rd and 8rd mags way faster then a 10rd. Also you can not lay prone with that long stick mag well or move in small rooms. But the main reason i feel is the name Izhmash and the fact they will work with any shells i have ever come across. etc the steel silver bear rounds fit in the 10rd's but are so tight that they do not move freely into the chamber. Do not get me wrong i own alot of the 10rd's just for the range but im ever in a combat zone or my life is depending on that shot give me an Izhmash mag any day. These were made for Tromix and proved to be too expensive to sell in quantity. If you want one, you better go ahead and get it because there are only three left and when those are gone there will be no more. BobAsh 582
The AGP is a good mag, but the Russian 8-rounder is super nice. Feels really heavy-duty and feeds like a dream.

Your a sick man....you know you can't post a pic like that around here That being said, I'm with you guys that the 8rd mags just feel better and more robust than the AGP mags (not that AGPs are bad) I won't sell my 8rders, or my factory 2rder....since they are both rare beasts
