HappYBallZ 31
Just found out about this morning... apparently it is against their new "policy" to show search results for firearms and ammunition now in "google shopping". I used it seldom to quicky-search a price of some stuff. It's a corporation and can do whatever the hell they want with their management but what a dumb decision on their hand IMHO. Yesterday, after searching for whatever firearm-related term on Google — “5.56 ammo,” for example — not only would one see general search results, but also a few shopping results. Not anymore, it seems. According to an online retailer who contacted us to shed light on this outrage, they received a lengthy email from Google Shopping stating per the company’s new policies, all firearms, ammo and accessories will not be approved to be listed. Indeed, it seems Google is sticking to their guns, if you’ll pardon the expression; search results for even the broadest terms turn up no results on Google shopping (see screenshot at left). They almost show nothing but garbage search results. Makes me wonder WTF is going on over there... Edited July 3, 2012 by HappYBallZ
aka_mythos 35
I guess its time for a collective effort to migrate to another more gun friendly search engine. Bing for example doesn't censor.
GregM1 241
i just finished deleting google. i dropped google account, gmail, google earth, and chrome.
unclejake 428
I just read about this on a CTD e-mail and went to Google and looked up several gun sites comparing features and had no problem looking them up. Of course, this may be different than Google shop.
chevyman097 2,579
Did people actually use google shopping? I never found it very useful myself.
frz1197 128
Just went to google shopping. Put in ak-47 and it only came up with three airsoft guns. Put in 7.62x 39 and it came up blank.
jojo200517 68
yeah the change was pretty instant, so much for their "do no evil" motto i just finished deleting google. i dropped google account, gmail, google earth, and chrome. But I got android phones and such so thats not a real option for me sadly. Not that it will make any difference to them if I did. MAAnew 162
We have a 20% conversion rate for our data feed with Google Shopping. Wish there was a better search engine than google. Did people actually use google shopping? I never found it very useful myself.
HappYBallZ 31
I just re-read my original post. I really should not be posting when I am half asleep haha. Yeah I wish there was better alternatives. I am really dissapointed in what google has become since the "new" CEO (Page) stepped in- Google labs(for Google Maps) are gone, almost consant issues with their services I use; google is becoming a jack of all trades and a master of none. I just keep seeing their acutal service losing value plus decisions like this add to it. I will probably try to use less of their search engine and try out others for a change. I will still use Android, hopefully I can find a search engine worth replacing theirs on my phone.

patriot 7,197
Fuck Google Fuck Android. I use a Blackberry. RIM doesn't have suck a stupid policy, and BB OS isn't NEAR the hunk of SPYWARE that Android is. I'd rather get RIMmed than Googled any day. Wolverine 10,360
I didn't know weapons are inherently evil. To read Googles rules you would think so. Sounds like Paypal.
ChileRelleno 7,071
Google and Google Shopping, both show results for me. I just searched Google Shopping for, 124gr 9mm FMJ. https://www.google.com/search?hl=en&tbm=shop&q=124gr+9mm+FMJ&oq=124gr+9mm+FMJ&gs_l=products-cc.3...2639.14593.0.15068.13.6.0.7.7.0.927.1359.3j2j6-1.6.0...0.0.CJUvFHtf7rM
