Mullet Man 2,114
If you have two or three, go for it. If it's you're only AK, or semi auto rifle for that matter, then you would be a fool to sell in this uncertain times.
semper299 284
It's always tempting to sell a gun during times like this when they are so valuable. But, look at it this way....you will always be able to make more money. You may not always be able to buy an AK. I have never regretted keeping a gun. I have only regretted selling a gun.

Spetnaz Soldier 47
I think I agree with all of you. I have 2 more but its like this.. I gave my dad who I love and respect with all my heart my first one and I GAVE my best friend one who has been poor all his life and is struggling to raise 2 kids and he loved my ak builds so much I thought it would be a nice gesture since he would never be able to afford one of his own so right now its my only one.
jrance@iacwds.com 716
Hang onto it if that is all you have. You don't bring a pistol to a gun fight. If you don't have a pistol and CCL then get busy and remedy that with money. JMHO
jwl019 8
You said another pistol. Why not try to trade one of the ones you already have for a small one to carry? Also check your open carry laws there.
D.C.MORRISON 494
i advise against it too. could become very difficult , maybe impossible to replace.
romad7 75
I almost sold my only AR but came to my senses and am very happy that I did. Since its your only AK then I say keep it, you'll most likely regret not having it. There are other ways to get money.

I have only regretted selling a gun. 100% agree with. I fell into that trap during the 1st AWB. I had purchased and transfered an M16A2 for 1200. Sold in 99 for 7500. Was unaware that I couldn't replace it. Still kickin myself .
gunman1 1,753
Yup...sold my Marlin short lever action, gold plated, .22 Mag rifle.....not only is it very rare, but it was the best rifle I ever shot.......I'm going out to the patio to stab myself in the neck with a #2 pencil now That was 30 years ago, regret lasts a long time! typo Edited January 29, 2013 by AA re-cvrd
haugpatr 972
Remember, the only use for a pistol is to fight your way back to the rifle you should have never put down in the first place.

Spetnaz Soldier 47
thanks for the slapage guys. I will not sell my battle rifle for battle may be near.
Bigtwin 219
Spetnaz, no slap needed.....you already know the answer! Better options in CA for getting a CCW! Selling your Saiga for a different pistol is not an option in my opinion. Sell the current pistol or learn to use it is my thoughts. What is the current pistol you have that you are concerned about?
Spetnaz Soldier 47
I do not have a current pistol. It doesnt matter anyway cuz im not selling it but someone offered me 2000 bucks for my saiga 7.62x39, 8 steel mags, 700 rounds of ammo and some spare parts. Fuck that. I dont know what i was think earlier.
Mike U. 51
Yeah, I have never regretted keeping a gun, but, I have PLENTY of regrets for letting many go. Like my perfect S&W 66 with 4" bull barrel, my FEG R-9, my NIB Yugo SKS with all kinds of extra goodies, a Remington Nylon 66, and, on and on. DON'T DO IT!
Red Star 38
Keep your AK. If your tight on cash, but simply MUST get something for ccw, get a hi-point. Above all, Keep your AK.
semper299 284
That was a really nice gesture giving your friend an AK. Good to hear stories like that....
im_n2_vws 28
You could always use your tax return to get a pistol. Unless you can replace the Saiga for half of what you are getting and pocket the other half?
hdskumm 39
at the rate certain mags are going for on gun broker, you could just sell a couple of those. That should buy you at least 5 handguns Edited January 30, 2013 by hdskumm
Spetnaz Soldier 47
There is no way in hell i am selling shiat. Dont know what i was thinking.

nfafan 3
Wow, you got lucky! I've had my unconverted RAAC SAIGA up for a FTF WTT for a Mini-14 for months and no takers on the trade. All those owners of 14yr-old Minis have suddenly become awfully proud of their guns. I gave up and stopped bumping the ad, I'll see about ordering a new Mini at WalMart. Maybe they can order a RAAC SAIGA at WalMart...
