jerry52 893
Here is some information that tells me that most of this ammo shortage has come from people buying guns. If we figure that most of these background checks would result in a gun being purchaced. Then ammo and mag shortages would follow respectfuly. February 2013 was the third highest month on record for background checks on Americans' purchasing firearms. According to the FBI NICS database, there were 2,309,393 background checks completed in the month of February. The only two months that saw a higher number of NICS checks were January 2013, with 2,495,440, and December of 2012, with 2,783,765. The total number of background checks completed since November of 1998 (the month the FBI began tracking this information) is 165,279,535. President Barack Obama, dubbed "The greatest gun salesman in history," has presided over 42 percent of these background checks, or a total of 68,898,629. Also, the top ten highest days and weeks for background checks completed have occurred during Obama's presidency: Top Ten Days: Dec. 21, 2012, 177,170 Dec. 20, 2012, 159,604 Nov. 23, 2012, 154,873 Dec. 22, 2012, 153,697 Dec. 19, 2012, 153,672 Dec. 18, 2012, 134,691 Nov. 25, 2011, 129,166 Dec. 15, 2012, 128,823 Dec. 14, 2012, 113,022 Feb. 15, 2013, 112,650 Top Ten Weeks: 12/17/2012 - 12/23/2012, 953,613 01/14/2013 - 01/20/2013, 641,501 02/11/2013 - 02/17/2013, 618,361 01/07/2013 - 01/13/2013, 603,882 12/10/2012 - 12/16/2012, 602,003 02/04/2013 - 02/10/2013, 592,542 02/25/2013 - 03/03/2013, 565,699 02/18/2013 - 02/24/2013, 543,259 01/21/2013 - 01/27/2013, 541,822 12/03/2012 - 12/09/2012, 527,095 As longe as this man is president we can expect a shortage in all areas. Hang in there.
Remek 771
I am going to take a page from Squishy on this one. Its very much a positive. More people entering the sport/learning our constitution. Expanded business. I can only see more support for us in the long run out of this.
Lone Eagle 839
I have a couple of coworkers who just jumped the Libtard ship, and bought an AR or AK. Problem is, they have no ammo to shoot them with. I was able to hook the AK guy up with enough to load 5 mags, but the AR guy is SOL.

That's a bitch, it really is and we all hate the hell out of it but the fact is they have exercised their right guaranteed by Second Amendment to bear arms, they are gun owners. I know it's hard to be enthusiastic about owning a gun when you can't shoot it but they'll get the chance.
jerry52 893
Thats why I posted this . After all the Goverment bought ammo last year and we had plenty. Thats a lot of guns. I love it I bet some new ammo companys will start up this year. Keltec is making ARs now who would figure that. Thank You Mr president
Remek 771
Lets hope KelTec produces their ARs in greater quantity and regularity than they have for their tactical shotguns.
jerry52 893
You want the truth or do you want to be told that they will. It's Keltec! If I ever see a sub 2000 40 cal with glock mag I will snatch it up but I also believe in the easter bunny.
haugpatr 972
The other point to remember is that some people might be purchasing multiple guns on one NICS check and there are many people like myself who have CPL licenses and there would be no such record of a check as the firearm is just directly signed over to my CPL.

U.S. Pratorean 1,234
http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=uQoQO0rEeX0 The last 60 seconds of this is the most paramount. King barry's adminstration are some really corrupt, sneaky bastards. Buy all the guns you want but without ammo it is an expensive stick. This is what they are really going for. The gun ban part is a preliminary sleight of hand. They will control domestic manufacture and I wish the domestic ammo companies would say no to them but they won't and the majority of ammo we all buy comes from abroad and they are f*cking that up now and will stop it altogether soon, just like klinton and the Chinese ammo. In socialist Canada they have wolf ammo in all calibers out the ass. I would never have thought they have it better than us. www.theammosource.com They are usually stocked up and send me updates all the time. I wouldn't be surprised if the US govt. is buyng up their stock as well. It's great to know the govt. is using your tax dollars to buy ammo so you can't. Like I said before, the ammo thing is going to be a big problem for a long time.

gunfun 3,931
The government can't buy many times what it needs forever, and even if it tries, more manufacturers will come into business to fill the demand. They are trying to control the market. You can do your part to counter that. Get as independent as possible from the major suppliers. Support small manufacturers that won't sell purchase options to the state. Make your own. Buy as many primers as you can at a reasonable price. Be as profitable a customer to the major suppliers as the government is. FYI, I can't stand Michael Savage, but that was a good interview.
Shandlanos 1,470
Does anyone know if it's legal to send primed cases through the US mail?I know loose primers are a no-no, as is loaded ammo, but both projectiles and casings are allowed.

We sill are the people and still allow people to go in to buisness. When poly cased ammo gets perfected , you will see more small guys making ammo. We have a company here in Fl on the virge of selling such ammo. Ammo may or may not cost more but if you have a gun you will come up with the money.

jerry52 893
I think it might be old stuff that they will not use anymore I have a FBI agent I know who is now retired and he told me that he always carried old discarded range ammo in his trunk and gave it to the local LEO for a good will offering. They only keep it so long. How the FBI dumps their ammo that is old ? Lets just say it happens and this is some of the reasons the Gov.buys ammo every year from ATK who own Federal and runs Lake State. God and Guns 3
Thanks jerry52 for posting that info. Really really interesting. The panic seems to have let up a little bit, but what surprised me is that the level of buying is not letting up. I mean, last week was still the seventh highest EVER for background checks. So the buying is still way up, it's just that the manufacturing and supply is starting to catch up a little with the demand. This is going to be going on for a long long time
jerry52 893
Hang in there. I remember getting married when Carter was president and waiting in line for gas in CO. Gas went from $0.23 to $0.49 a gallon for gas. You would have thought that the world was comming to a end! Act do not re-act is my motto. Emotions seperated from your brain will get you killed. So ammo goes up in price. It will be the same as gas has and we will find a way to get it.
