Squeaky 135
Hello: I've wanted to share this for a long time, and I hope it's ok to do so. Like a lot of people, I hoped the first crash into the towers was an accident, but I had my suspicions given the beautiful weather that day - not cloudy or fogged-in. I was in a hotel lobby watching the news coverage. Not caring if anyone disagreed or not, when the second plane hit I immediately said out loud sarcastically "thanks a lot President Clinton!" Why is it that one apparent "qualification" to be a democrat president is you're a pussy. That's the trend I've noticed since Carter.
netpackrat 566
Like a lot of people in AK, I slept through the attack. I was in the process of moving and the wife had gone ahead to her new job while I packed stuff up; she called and woke me up. TV, etc. was packed but I left the computer until near last (priorities!) so I was on a shitty slow dialup connection in rural AK trying to get news from sites that were all slammed. Ended up having to go to World Nut Daily. I heard the news reports on the radio about Flight 93 and it sounded to me like the pax had fought back, which the news later confirmed. 6500rpm 670
Working at the airport in St Louis, seeing the second tower get hit from the tv in the break room. Plane after plane landing followed by an eerie silence as all flights were grounded for the next few days. The quiet in the sky was almost as disturbing as what had just taken place.
{ROS}_me 32
I had just finished repairing a toilet , when the customer I was working for stopped me and told me to come see her tv . I thought the same as you ,no clouds good weather, Then ,as I watched the second plane hit the next tower ,I told my customer "We are at War" and told her I would send her a bill and went home to protect my family. me
getitat 609
Hello I'm a refinery inspector, was working on the road in Philly on night shift. Wife woke me up at my hotel in Jersey to watch the second plane hit. The next three weeks were very eerie. Only things in the previously busy skies over Philly/Jersey were Apaches and the odd fighter jets flying in formation. Days after zero hour saw numerous military bobtail trucks moving through Jersey loaded with caskets. Couldn't find gas 'cause the gas stations all employed muzzies as gas pumpers and they had all been either thrashed or threatened so they refused to pump gas for gringos. Had to stay an extra week 'cause there were no rental cars available or flights allowed to leave. Got on the first flight out of Philly, pilot announced prior to taxi to the runway that "if anybody needs to pee, better do it now, 'cause I don't want anybody getting up during the flight". -Guido in TX Edited September 13, 2016 by guido2
montec 164
I was in college, people were talking about the first plane hit. We all gathered to watch when the second plane hit. I immediately said we are going back to Iraq and left the room. I said in 2000 if bush won we would go back to Iraq to avenge his father, wish I was wrong. It's more of a touching memory, vs then when I just rolled with it. Age has a way of changing how you feel about things from the past.
Sim_Player 1,939
I lost my job, because of 9/11. I worked in aerospace, building Boeing landing gear, under contract. At the time, I could build a pair of 747 Body Gear, by myself, in two weeks and was getting noticed but, I had low tenure. A coupla pics for you: I helped change the body gear steering actuator in the second picture. On the ramp, in situ, with no slip plates. Was a fun time. A friend of mine lost his job after 9/11... He's a mechanic, who had worked his way into a management position, which was eliminated when aviation tanked. I guess he dove into a bottle for a while, then one day got sick of it and joined the army. Wound up as a blackhawk crew chief in Iraq.
Vance665 225
I was in my junior year of high school on 9-11-01. We didn't get word and turn on the TV untill the towers were already collapsing. I can still remember what I said to a classmate to this day. "if this doesn't start a war, I don't know what does". I built them every 2-3 weeks for 3 1/2 years. About 50+ pairs. Those photos bring back memories. Here's my poor toolbox now. El Cabron 91
I was at work when the news come on the radio about a plane hitting the first tower. I thought it might be an accident; then the second plane hit, and knew it was a terrorist attack. Then the other two planes confirmed this was a major attack. We heard the news that all aircraft was grounded, and the President had been evacuated to a safe location. Everyone was acting in a shocked and dazed manner the rest of the day. After work I drove through the small city north of our facility, and saw all the gas stations were jammed with people panic-buying gas. I noticed that somehow the gas was priced much higher than it had that morning when I had driven through. I continued on, and drove through another small city a few minutes later, where I noticed people on the sidewalks stopping and looking upward and pointing. I pulled over and got out to investigate. What I saw made the hair on the back of my neck rise, and brought tears to my eyes. I saw, at a very high altitude, the contrails of a large passenger jet and smaller contrails of 4 or more smaller aircraft. They were heading east, parallel to I-80. I knew immediately that Air Force 1 and a fighter escort was screaming back to DC with President Bush on board, and the US was going to kick some ass!!

I've read that US arms are ending up in isis and other "moderate" rebels hands all the time, from multiple sources. patriot 7,197
Some of it is shell companies with false end use paperwork. Some of it comes from countries who will resell to anyone. Some of the equipment isn't OEM, but copies made in places like Pakistan. ...and some comes from unscrupulous CEOs like HP's Carly Fiorina, meeting the letter of the law, but not the intent. Now, back on topic. I was in the engineering dept. working on a design consolidation when I saw the towers hit on a TV. I thought it was a movie at first. When I realized it was real, I was stunned. WE were attacked. It will continue until we, as a Nation, grows some balls and wipe these fuckers OUT. We need to borrow an idea from the Gambino crime family. Kill them ALL. http://www.breitbart.com/national-security/2015/11/23/mafia-heir-issues-press-release-vowing-to-keep-nyc-safe-from-islamic-state/ Edited September 17, 2016 by patriot
