  1. This is true, but hypotheticlly speaking. Your buddy loans you a gun, when he shoots it, the firing pin brakes and being the good freind that he is he fixes it for you. I see it more as the ATF wants to keep track of stuff going accross state lines.
  2. Nope it's GTG when properly cured. Follow the directions. What's good is you don't need to blast and park, just sand everything down and spray the Alumahyde 2 per the directions. One of my AK builds I did sand and I used K phose before I applied the alumahyde2, thats a good solid finish. It does go on very thick, so don't get too happy on the inside of the receiver, I would tape off the rails and trunnion. I use Metal cote, it's a clear single coat epoxy on the inside. Brownels carries that too.
  3. I haven't used Gun Kote, no way to bake it without some serious shit to deal with. Alumahyde2 is good shit. You should be able to get 2-3 rifles with one can. Make sure you buy extra nozzles and keep the can warm so it flows better.
  4. I reserched everything and by the time I got started it was a piece of cake. I did 2 of my own and 9 others for friends, now i'm building AK's........it's the hobby that keeps on giving.
  5. Saiga 7.62X39 Cali legal with detachable 30's. HK G3 rear sight welded to dust cover. The front was from an SKS project I did, thats welded as well. I shot this gun at 600+ yards, I missed my target (1 lb tannerite charge) by 12". This is where I was shooting from, i'm the black speck on the hill middle left. IMO I think the HK sights are the best thing that can be done to improve the Saiga/AK pattern rifle.
  6. Holy Shite I couldnt imagine not being able to hold 30+ rounds of explosive death just waiting to pop.. Hence why I will N E V E R live in CA.. Sorry man, that just sucks.. OH and I chose to file the mags individually.. 2 reasons - 1. Gives me something to do in my spare time & a reason to be one with my Saiga - 2. Ive stock piled enough mags to serve at least a fireteam and want them all to myself when the Z's are roaming the streets.. actually in California, it's legal to own high cap mags, just illegal to buy or sell 'em. So you can still buy them out of state and bring them in,
  7. I know that sometimes if you baby the trigger especially on the reset the disconnector won't catch the hammer and it can double.
  8. I'm gonna toss this one out there. Get a bicycle, when you have a craving jump on the bike and ride as fast as you can untill it hurts to breathe. Then keep going, you'll get a rush and after a while you'll get into somewhat decent shape. I quit drinking a couple years back and my mt. bike and a big fukn hill helps to keep me inline. FYI, I did a job at ALZA in Mt View Ca. ALZA makes the nicotine patches. During our orientation we were told to never touch any clear liquid when we were in the labs. That liquid was pure nicotine and it's so powerful it will kill you. Nicotine is
  9. 10/10 Wow I wish we could make a common sense vs California gun laws quiz. Wait......there is no common sense when it comes to California gun laws. Damn i'm cracken jokes about my own state.
  10. I have shot a shit load of wolf through all of my guns. The only issues I ever had was Military classic that my one of my SKS's didn't like. It runs in the AK's all day. If you have any problems with Wolf ammo, or your gun blows up and it's due to bad Wolf ammo. Contact Wolf. They will buy back any unfired ammo and if there is proof that their ammo created a dangerous issue I believe they will make it right. They stand behind their product and the few times I called them they were nothing but helpful and did everything to make sure I was happy. I'll buy their stuff anytime.
  11. Yep, I worked with a guy who told me the dumbest thing he ever was join S.F. He was in Vietnam and he told me about some missions where they took their tags and gave them enemy uniforms and weapons and that was that. He also said they were the reason Tigers in south east asia were going extinct. "We killed those fuckers, if we didn't they would kill us". Even to this day he swears by the AK.
  12. What a tard. So lemmie get this strait......He's selling a 350$ rifle(NIB) add 150$ of shit thats gonna get tossed anyway. Then he calls it a conversion??? And want 750???? Um......O.K.
  13. No you don't NEED a press, but it will make the job way easier. I'm building up some kits now,i'll be making at least 1 pistol maybe more. No paper work and no B.S. The only way to get an AK pistol here(Cali) is from a flat.
  14. #2 is incorrect, the only Saigas listed are imported by "Kalashnikov U.S.A." and is listed as "Hunter rifle/Saiga" all others are legal. R.A.A. and E.A.A. are GTG for California. #3 is correct, if the magazine needs a tool to be removed than it is "non-detachable", any and all "Evil features" may be installed on the rifle. The only execption is the 10 round limit, if a mag lock is installed the magazine cannot accecpt NO MORE THAN 10 ROUNDS OF AMMO. The rest is GTG, if one wants to use standard AK mags the you would go "featureless." Do the conversion, just delete the pistol
  15. I'll vouch for Brian as well. I had a small issue with a couple of his bullet guides and he told me to ship them back to him and he would not only replace the B.G. but kicked me back the shipping + a few bucks. He overnighted the B.G. to me, and explained why they wouldn't work (not his fault, Izmash changed some dementions on the front trunnion). Brian is a stand up dude and i'll buy his parts with confidence, they'll fit or he'll make it right.
  16. I suppose you can have fairly cool guns in the PRC, ("Peoples'" Republic of California). However, you can have a lot cooler, (and more true to original design), guns in any number of states to the east of the PRC. I find "Monsterman Grips" to be a fairly sad product, since they wouldn't exist if your state had laws that were even close to Constitutional. I know that none of us in the US are able to utilize the 2nd Amendment in the way it was intended at this point, but the PRC's and a few other states' laws are absolutely ridiculous. Fuck "the rules" you refer to. They were written by ign

  18. A few months back a bunch of us Calgunners got together for a little shootn' fun on some BLM land in central Cali. Well one of the dude's works for a company that builds armored cars, not bank types either. Excectutive type rides, very high dollar shit. Always with the best and most cutting edge in materials, they were building some desert assualt vehicles for some rich oil arab barron. Well this guy brought some stuff for us to shoot. He had some armor that is used for I.E.D.'s on military vhicles. That shit is bad ass and a 223 would barely leave a mark, but a 7.62X39 is.....well it
  19. I'll opt for an AK or a converted Saiga. One thing i've thought would be a kick ass SHTF set up would be a Glock 20 or 21 because 10mm is a bitch to find coupled with one of those mech tek CCU carbines. The 10mm is a very potent round and through a rifle barrel it has the goods for a hunting, defense round. I think the 45 won't quite have the gas to reach out there but thats still a formidable setup. Mag interchangablity, small package, ease of maitainance, and reliable.
  20. I took a buddy from work out to the range, he's shot a few times before but I was still watching him like a hawk. I noticed he kept his finger on the trigger when he would look down or transition to another target. I didn't yell at him but I told him he gonna put a round through his foot if he keeps that shit up. So I go to my bench to grab another rifle, as I walk back over to where he's at, he kinda looks at me and points. "Dude, see that hole in the ground" him "Yeah, why" me "My foot was here" him He puts his foot about 2" from the hole. "Did you leave
  21. If you wanna convert do it, you'll be suprised at the difference. Everybody I know says the conversion isn't worth the trouble..........Ahhh what trouble? It take 1 1/2-2 hrs, costs 75-100$ and will improve the feel and handling aspects of the rifle. When you install an AK stock the overall length loses about 4". This is one of my conversions with a monster man grip and a standard AK mag.
  22. A word of advise to the OP. Research Research Research, knowledge is power and use the search function. You'll be suprised at the things you can do if your willing to put in a little work. I live in California and have to know so many damn laws to own black rifles and stay out of jail I should be a lawyer. I never ask first, I do the leg work and find out the answer myself. I wouldn't worry to much about giving Brain (Dinzag) your CC#. He's a strait up dude and I bet if you asked 100 people who have done buisness with him you'll have maybe 1 complaint. BTW I HATE THE TERM H
  23. Ammo Dump The story goes, while waiting for a mine field to be cleared a dude has to take a shit................
  24. I was at the funeral on Friday. The outpouring of sympathy is something I think i'll never see again in Oakland. The problem with that area is generational now. There are whole families who blame the world for problems created by themselves. When there is no mother or father and no positive role models you have what happens in any urban area. Unfortunatly they are also fed this self pity bullshit and the world owes them. I fucken grew up poor too, but I will never blame my problems on anyone but me. I know right from wrong and I also know this world would be complete chaos without m
