  1. Just an FYI....the standard payload for a 12 guage was 1-1/4oz and 1oz for a 20ga (1970's).......of course these days, everyone has forgotten that and gleefully accepts wattered down shit ammo as the new standard. You can actually fire 1-1/8oz from a 2.75" 20ga shell, no problem.
  2. Hmm.....interesting. Reminds me of the Colt M231 Port Firing Weapon stock.
  3. My carry knife is a $15 Walmart Gerber. I'm not much of a knife guy. My favorite knife, is this skinner that my Dad made for me back in 1997. He's far from a "pro" knife maker, but he cobbled up one hell of a nice skinning knife from an old horse shoe file. Its got some character. He made the leather shealth as well.
  4. If he got the form back in 63 days, someone fucked up and accidently put his in front of a bunch of others. Form 4's are running about 5 months right now. If you want to see where your paperwork is sitting, go to about 1:40 in this video. I can't seem to post the link for some reason. Go to YouTube and search on ATF Congress Meeting. You'll see about 100 boxes full of forms sitting in the hallway, waiting to be reviewed.
  5. That's one of the problems with the new fangled imports. None of the aftermarket suppliers have stuff to fit those specific guns. I doubt anyone is going to rush into that arena either, since the import numbers are low. I learned my lesson on the MKA 1919 and don't plan to repeat it again. Tony
  6. I haven't seen one like that. I'm not sure.
  7. Only the first small batch imported, had the jewels and the non-spec rail. Those were imported in May of 2011, did not have the "X" prefix, and were marked Ucyildiz. By December of that same year, the "X" guns started coming in. The jewels were gone, the rails were mil-spec, and the markings changed to Eksen. I don't think there are very many out there with the jewels.....around a 100 or so. That's about two guns per state. Clyde Woods at RAA told me after the first batch arrived, that they were not going to receive any additional shipments until the jewels were removed and the rai
  8. If you decide to go with a 50AE, forget the POS Desert Eagle. Pop for a Mark V LAR Grizzly instead. It's ten times the pistol and not something that your dipshit brother-in-law owns. Tony
  9. 44 Auto Mag. Corbon makes factory ammo now. Buy the gun, buy some ammo, and shoot the shit out of it.
  10. Unfortunately, you happen to have an extra fat handle on your OEM carrier. There is not much wall thickness left in the Tromix handle to dremel it out. You may want to just thin down your OEM handle instead. Either way would probably work though. Here's a pic of the Saiga OEM bolt carrier handle variances.......I don't think you need a set of calipers to see what I'm talking about. About 95% of the carries work fine with the handle, and 5% or so need some tweaking. Tony Rumore Tromix
  11. The stock just slides into the back of the receiver, just like a normal AK stock....instead of two screws holding it in place, there is a pin (with a knob on top) that runs through the tang and into the plastic stock. That is about as easy as it gets......no need to over-engineer the shit. Tony
  12. I did one several years ago on a Tromix 6" Bodyguard model. Tony Rumore Tromix
  13. You may want to install the Tromix heavy duty firing pin spring. That will most likely cure the problem.....and keep your OEM firing pin from breaking. Tony
  14. If the writer had run Winchester AA Super Sport birdshot ammo, instead of Federal Walmart bulk pack, the AKDAL would have run fine. Tony
  15. The problem with that logic, is the mag/gun deal is the chicken and the egg syndrome. There won't be a bunch gun sales, until there are high cap mags, and vice versa. The good thing you have going for you, is that Firebird and Tromix stepped up the plate already with 922r parts, so it will be legal to run the mags.
  16. I had a great time last month, catching Halibut with Jim. He's got all the cool ass gear to pull it off right, and knows what the fuck he is doing....that makes for a great comfortable trip without a bunch break downs and gear malfunctions. Tony
  17. There is no need for any insert in the barrel if you're good with the Tig. A good Tig man can control the depth of penetration (especially if you have done several thousand) without the need for a backup. If you suck....well, maybe you should stick something in there.
  18. You need to get these parts from CSS or MS Auto if you plan to move the gas block back 2.25".
  19. We shipped them to the distributors a few days ago. Tony
  20. I have a Blade 400, Blade MSR and two Blade SR's. I use a DX6i to drive them. Tony
  21. The USAS mag is 1.21" wide, the magwell opening on the AKDAL is 1.00" wide. By the time you shaved nearly a 1/4" off the sides of the USAS mag, it would be so thin, the feed lips would probably break off. You never know until you actually try it.....but I doubt it would work. Tony
  22. I have no idea on price, yet...we're still just talking about it. Since we are doing rifled slug barrels, we will have rifled barrel blanks on hand to make paradox chokes as well. However, when I offered paradox chokes for sale back in 2006-2007, I had a lot of interest on the board, but only a couple of guys ever bought one. They were a bit pricey though, since they were hand made on manual machinery, and cut from a $300 Pac-Nor blank. Tony
