  1. There was an old thread on this forum that a poster discussed his options of buying a Saiga without chrome lined barrel for a lower price than with chrome. I don't remember what country he was from, but I believe it was not the USA. Germany perhaps? Edited to add: All of the Saigas I have used had a nice bright shinny chrome bore and chamber. That was one of the things that puzzled me when I started looking at ar15 barrels that were chrome lined. The AR barrels that were chromed were not shinny like that. To this day I've still not gotten a straight answer as to why they look so differen
  2. If there's nothing wrong with the dust cover, then I'LL TAKE IT. Send me a message with your name and mailing address, and I'll send you a USPS money order as payment.
  3. That's it. I'm canceling my order. NOT.
  4. Maybe a warning at the begining of the thread would not be a bad idea.?
  5. I would recomend using standard steel AK mags when trimming down the catch lever. Then if using say plastic Master Molder mags file the mag to fit the catch.
  6. replace the saige sling mount with a standard sling stud. I believe the sling stud that screws into the Russian threaded hole is the same one that's for a Mossberg 500 shotgun.
  7. I was thinking maybe hard chrome could be used to prevent wear on the dummy round, if needed.
  8. Not a bad idea to give the bolt a good cleaning, particularly the extractor and the firing pin.
  9. If all five are "like new" 20 round FBMG mags (I have tested/fired with no problems all mags). For $35.00 each plus $8.00 shipping for a total of $183.00...... then I'LL TAKE THEM. Send me your mailing address and I'll send you a US POSTAL MO for payment for the$183.00.
  10. Is it too soon to ask when you will start a new list to work on customer supplied S-12s?
  11. Some plastics get brittle after being exposed to the elements long term. Seems like pvc holds up rather well though.
  12. Makes a difference if someone works out(lifts weights), keeps the stock snug against their shoulder, uses a good recoil pad/stock. One thing you might want to check out is the Endine Shot Stock. It's spring loaded to help absorb recoil. Looks like you have a Tapco T6 stock. Some people have posted about modifying that stock to work kind of like the endine shot stock.
  13. Now that is strange. I was thinking it's been a while since I seen a post from you and when I sign on there's the title to this thread, front and center.
  14. I think the reason you're getting little (or no) response is because most people think the saiga barrel is heavy and accurate enough. I tend to agree, anything heavier would not be to my liking in terms of weight and balance. Its certainly not a light barrel, but if you want to make it bigger or heavier, don't let me stop ya! I don't think you would get much accuracy out of a heavier barrel anyhow. Now, once you start really putting rounds down range and the Saiga barrel heats up, that will have an effect on accuracy. At that point, a heavier barrel like a bull barrel would probably
  15. That's the kind of pie everyone was talkin about??? I thought it was the other kind.
  16. There are times I've thought a Glock 18 would make a cool carry piece , but its usually not an option for us mere mortals.
  17. I wonder if a revolver chambered in 9mm, or 45acp would fit the bill. I've seen them before, but don't know much about them.
  18. Why a DPMS LPK? Of all the brands out there, from what I've read, DPMS has some iffy reviews. Was not aware of that. I've not had any problems with any of mine, then again it's been over a year since I've bought any AR parts. Had been about the best single stage parts kit for the money. I would prob go with a RRA kit if DPMS has developed problems. Cost wouldn't be much more.
  19. Sounds like you gave her good recomendations already with the revolver and pump shotgun. When using the 762x39mm Saiga it should be ammo that works reliably above all else. Also have good terminal ballistics. Sometimes AK don't like certain hp, or sp bullets. If going for excellent terminal ballistics, I would try Winchester 123Gr softpoints. They will prob cost about $1.00 per round. Second choice would be Barnaul, Wolf Military Classic hp,(not to be confused with wolf in the black box). You can buy a case of 1000 for around $190.00. Next choice would be FMJ of the above brands, or Golde
  20. For a copmplete M4 upper half, LMT. Then For finishing the striped lower, prob DPMS Panther Arms lower reciever parts kit., RRA 6 position M4 stock, buffer, tube, spring.
  21. Indoors they all are going to be loud. They all will penetrate several walls. Here's some reading might be interesting. http://www.theboxotruth.com/
  22. I used a wooden dowl with emery papper wrapped around the end.
