  1. I wish they would have reinforced them with a steel insert. Curious how long the locking lug will hold up with serious use. I love my Pmags but I did read Larry Vickers recommends plastic mags for range use, steel or aluminum for long term SHTF use as plastic by nature will break down eventually and fail. I'm definitely keeping my Milsurps for both the AK and AR platform.
  2. Cobra does good things to bolt carriers and hammers.
  3. Why remove the Chaos HK style sights and replace them with the much higher Magpuls?
  4. For the cost, I'm not seeing an advantage to the M4 style M249 stock plus needed adapter on a Saiga. ( I know the particular rig we went with on our SAWs was damn pricey). With all the M4 stock options out there, why not throw on an adapter and standard buffer tube aka receiver extension or the fixed versions made for an AK plus a buttstock of choice? Too many options available out there plus you can make them into a folder if desired.
  5. Good to know. For $15 I can throw them in the trash if they don't hold zero. Or they could give me a reason to buy one of the many cool airsofts that are out now.Or use them until you score the real deal for a defensive weapon.
  6. Those are Magpul PTS sights for airsoft. Fine on a range toy. I wouldn't trust them to hold zero on a fighting gun though.
  7. Just to clarify, a .50 can and a SAW can are two different animals
  8. He is in CT. They are lining up to register guns and mags before the January 1st deadline there. Probably too late to convert it unless you go register it and your mags. Pack your shit and move away from that madness!
  9. A pack of determined Coyotes can be a threat. Not all hogs run. I've had them stand their ground against a truck. Plenty of folks are hurt by the cutters on hogs. Someone local here posted a good trail cam pic of a Panther on a hunting forum. We had a momma and two cubs spotted where I work. They do exist. I'm not too concerned with Bobcats, I'm bigger than a rabbit. I grew up in bear country up north. Definitely worry about a sow with cubs.
  10. I always carry a backup in .45 ACP when hunting. When I was still in MT, it was for Grizzly/Black Bears, Cougars, Wolves and Coyotes. Here in FL we have Black Bears, Panthers, Coyotes, and Feral Hogs. I don't think a pistol is ideal for a primary against any of these but it can help you until you can get a long gun into the fight. My Uncle in MT killed a Grizzly with a .45 ACP that visited him in a wall tent with two rounds to the head at point blank range. My brother stuck a Black Bear with an arrow, tracked him for quite a while, then came face to face with him in some thick brush. He
  11. I agree with the HSGI tacos although John and the gang at SOE makes great stuff!
  12. The M4 style we used was a Canadian product. I don't think any of my guys ever tried swapping with other M4 stocks so I don't know if they are the same size. I do know the ones we purchased were expensive as shit though for the entire rig.
  13. I hit them up for one for my GSG-5. Primary Arms built a bunch to fill an order for a big AR manufacturer who then backed out of the deal. I think it was like $59. They may still have them.
  14. The standard Para stock that Nailbomb posted sucks ass to get a good cheekweld on the irons let alone when equipped with an optic. We installed the pictured M4 style on our Para SAWs. Much better on our setup as we had EOTechs on the top cover. I could post a photo but I am on vacation away from my computer.
  15. When confronted with a written request from German General Luttwitz for the surrender of Bastogne, Brigadier General Anthony McAuliffe, tthe acting commander of the 101st Airborne Division in Belgium had a one word reply. "Nuts!" It was interpreted it by the German truce party as "Go to hell!
  16. FTE and light loads should give you a clue as to where you need to start to alleviate that issue. The forum is full of remedies and the search is your friend.
