  1. its pure unobtanium....melt it down and plant it in the backyard so you can have a ruble tree (not $ she's Russian remember)
  2. Looks like the way my 108 was setup before I hacked on it. IF you take the barrel back to thread it you will have to do gas work by enlarging the ports. Depending on your skill it may be a handful.
  3. Well it's easier to nerf the guns than it is to make them harder to obtain. That's why it takes multiple shots to drop someone with a .50 bmg, or multiple blasts from a 12 gauge at point blank range. I'm not combat expert but I'm thinking that it may be a bit unrealistic
  4. part of the reason your gun is shooting the light loads well is probably because the 22" barrel has a fixed full choke which helps some with the cycling. That and Big Bear Arms, Kalashnkov- USA and a couple others i'm forgeting imported before EAA. My 03 S-12 was an EAA import that didn't have the BHO, what a fixed full choke with the rib sight.
  5. Yup, been hanging around in the middle for a long time.
  6. Mecahnical control first, IE weedwack it to "wear it out". Worked out well for me when I did Invasive Plant Control. Seed with natives if you can to help.
  7. I've shot my 19" with the extension and the rifle choke and was thwacking a 5" gong at 100yds. My old 22" gun got chopped to about 20" but when I threaded it I cut the threads off just a hair (about an 1/8" over the 10" of extenstion and choke) so no extension and choke on that one. The 24" guns are threaded at the end which makes me think they are cyclinder bore. At one time I had an evil plan lined up for a "slug" S-12, buy a 24" gun, throw that extension on it and the choke, with a set of AK sights all the way out on the extension it would give me a long enough sight radius to make it u
  8. Thought it was straight piped, the old EAA 22"s had fixed full chokes. The "paralax rifle choke", "barrel extenstion" and 2rnd mag
  9. Owner probably got confused with the Hungarian SA-2000s that were Eastern European black AKs that are single stack. Or the older SARs that might of been single stacks. The reason for all that trigger nonsene in the Saigas in sporter form is so they can use the double stacks and still get in the country.
  10. For someone who is used to working on guns.....I don't know his skill set.
  11. I remember seeing those for sale....for about a whole month Nice score on the WASR-22. I bought mine on a whim and won't be parted with it even though she's acted up a time or two.
  12. So you want to punch holes in things and light them on fire at the same time? I've shot Dragons breath before, they don't sell the "good" ones anymore, at least not where I can find them. Just the cheaper offerings from the Hi-vel guys at the same price. I can tell you that running it through the Saiga-12 is a pretty bad idea, but I'd like to buy your bolt carrier and bolt for spares when the rest of the gun becomes un-usable.
  13. Glad to see it come out, I know a local writer around here wants to get one for a write up. The cutting of the tang might be a deal breaker for him though
  14. I remember trying to piss off Indy so I could get a warning bar I couldn't do it
  15. The Saiga-12 sights are a fair amount different from "traditional" shotgun sights, took some time to get used to but I'm good with mine now.
  16. I'm closing in on 10k through my 2002 S-12... Other than the conversion parts I haven't replaced a thing. Still runs like a top.
  17. When I got mine it had the 9mm barrel in it so my paper work says a 9mm CZ-52. That's going to confuse somebody some day. Never have shot it with the 9mm barrel though. Bought a tin of 7.62x25 and some spare boxes along the way, never really tapped into the tin though. The gun is a friggen tank though. I can't hit the broadside of a barn with it but I'm pretty sure its all shooter error. In the off chance I ever shoot out my barrel I found a spare 7.62x25 one for all of $20.....That was a no brainer.
  18. Double stacks have nothing on the orginal 10rnd sticks...
  19. Maybe I'm missing it from the angle of your hand but I'm willing to bet you have the classic "g2" bolt hold open which is really the bolt carrier making contact on a new hammer. Once the gun is shot some more the hammer will slick up and the bolt carrier will not hold on the hammer anymore. Course I could be missing something...
  20. Oh suuure now I find somebody who wants my Federal hulls....I can't tell you the number of those I've thrown out. Where bouts in PA? being that I'm lost in Pennsyltucky might be easier to pick up
  21. The market for those is awfully small but the numbers in that market is even smaller
  22. 2rnd Factory mags in the two round body are actually harder to find than Russian 8s....dosen't make them as expensive though.
  23. Funny part about this is, a number of people used to order parts from Finland to ship to the US. Still remember trying to figure out how to best answer the question "What are you getting from Finland" when my mom got the package while I was at school.
  24. No fair Wonder why they made a difference between the 00 buck and the 000 buck?
