Sword shop.. If I could get ahold of a legal modern day claymore I would, I just indulged my inner nerd with a battle ready Scottish claymore.
-
Looks to the left... then to the right... the renaissance fair... lol
-
i have one.

Damn dentists taking my money... I just need a dremel, pliers, and a good bottle of Jack.
-
Got a Ruger SP101 and a new Leatherman slong with a few gift cards, good Christmas I'd say lol.
-
Got all the parts ordered for my M&P 15 in an OD treatment, pics to follow when they come in.
-
Hopefully the weather will cooperate and I can do some mushroom hunting this weekend.
-
hee hee hee mushrooms you say.
-
Simple things. Life is good family did these things as a child, hunter-fisher-gather, game warden was a constant vistor, mother canned them as well as deer, elk, and bear. Dad would not eat the mushrooms thought mother would poision him. We ate well!
-
You cant get much better eatin than a plate of fried wild mushrooms!

Hoping to make it out to the gun shop this weekend and grab the Stag model 3 they have up there.

I think it's about time to get the old Ithaca 37 20 gauge out of the back of the safe and get it working again.. The stock is in about 3 pieces, the bluing is almost gone and the bead sight is missing, lets see what I can do to make a good little hunting gun out of it.

So far the stock seems the hardest to track down.. Other than that parts look easy to find or make. Functionally the gun looks to be in good shape it just needs the love and some money put into it. Tracked the serial back to a late spring or early summer 1952 production.
-
post some pictures of the stock. Someone may have a suggestion on how to repair it.
-
Will do, my options right now are repairing the split in it or buying one from numrich or Ithaca direct. They run about $125 but fixing the old stock would at least let me put rounds through it again until I replaced it.

Is the handguard screw on a Saiga-12 a 5mmx.8? I need to get a tap to chase the threads on my gas block.

It's like a wonderful ice skating rink out on the roads right now. Time to wait for the 6-10" of snow..

Cancelled my dentist appointment. The highway is also closed where I would get on it. Some guy is threatening to jump off the bridge.
-
I love the ice & snow, but get REALLY annoyed by the people who don't know how to drive on it & are out there panicking or unprepared.
-
It isn't bad if the roads aren't busy but it seems like they give all the mental cases cars when the roads get bad.

Just aquired an old ass gasoline blowtorch/soldering iron... Tomorrow morning looks to be promising, I may have a cool new vintage toy or I may torch myself lol..

Errr, I doubt that it was designed to run on gasoline. I would be sure before I loded it up with Gas!
-
Make sure the seal in the pump seals TIGHT! These run on white gas (unleaded regular)and make themselves into bombs real frequently. Fill it up with water and pump it up as hard as you can to check for leaks before trying it with gas.I used these years ago, and still have a couple - but i use propane torches for the safety factor!
-
Yeah, it's more of a novelty item haha.. I tested it out and ran it this morning and it works pretty well, takes forever to heat the old soldering tip on it. I'm just gonna sit it with all my other antique tools and machinery. It makes one hell of a flamethrower though!

Just got back from a friends funeral services, it was really well put together and there must have been a few hundred people in there to pay their respects. Overall I'd say he would have been honored to see so many people come out for him.

Loaded model M1A, PAnther or RRA AR-10, or a R700 or Savage 10fp... Decisions decisions..

R700 hands down, a close runner up is the Savage though.
-
FWIW- I love my LR-308 AP4. It's like an M4 on 'roids. Put 100 rounds down range flawlessly first time at the range.
-
Yeah, it's honestly a toss up between the M1A and the Ar platform .308 right now, I want to make somewhat of an M21 style rifle or a SASS clone. Both would be sweet but how much money can I honestly throw at one rifle.. A R700 of 10FP is on the list next because I need a new modern bolt gun..
