I got two from cabelas for 69.99 each. I have one on my saiga on a BP02 mount. Very pleased with it. Very precise dot. Gets plenty bright even for sunny snow covered days. Holds zero well. And battery life is adequate. Just buy one trust me

I ordered a bp02 low mount with the siderail on Monday 10/17 from primary arms. I got a shipped confirmation the same day but still did not have a tracking number on weds 10/19 so I decided to call. I got a person instantly (Brett) who I gave the order number and he put me on hold for a few minutes. When he came back he said he found the Package and because of them being helter skelter with a new website launch the package didn't leave the building. He asked if I needed it by the weekend. I said that would be best if possible. So he bumped the shipping up to priority and sent it out immediatel

Well possibly.but If you have the rifle tilted back the then gravity will pull the firing pin rearward and the hammer will contact the pin and slam it forward in the channel smacking the tapered section of the pin into the hole in the bolt face. But damage from this is unlikely.

If the rail for the mount sits left or right of rifles bore then yes. The dot will not be aligned with the front sight as far as left to right. Your dot always be higher than the front sight when using that mount because it places the red dot sight so far over the bore. The only time the dot will be aligned directly ontop of you frot sight post is when using a mounting system which cowitensses and let's you see your rear and front sight through the optic. When using a mount like you are pay zero attention to the front sight when you have the red dot mounted.

Your question was already answered in post #2. Hahahaha Yes post two says it. The firing pin rest directly on the primer. With about 3/16 of an inch hanging out the rear of the bolt. The hammer goes all hammer time slamma Jamma on that protrusion. Your question was already answered in post #2. Hahahaha Yes post two says it. The firing pin rest directly on the primer. 922r does not apply to drakos because they are a pistol right? So If you get the stamp and make them an sbr do they need to be 922r compliant?

Brake parts cleaner Is a degreaser not a paint. It's a quite harsh degreaser that will peal paint and degrease well. Yes you will have another coat on the carrier. Like buzz said just dont paint the inside of the bolt channel or the bolt. And I would recomend not painting the bottom of the carrier which pushes the hammer down and strips a round. Actually on these sections polishing is best.

Rob. I think it would be pretty rare for a threaded barrel to be stepped. That being said mine Has a stepped chamber and shoots/functions fine. I wouldn't classify a step as an "issue"

AK Side Mount Scope Mount Choices
hutchsaiga replied to lentuk's topic in Saiga / AK Optics & Sights
I own a Belarus BP-02 mount and it is solid. It moves front to back a quarter of an inch after locked in maybe, but not anything that will change your sight at distances. The only complaint I have is that it is a little on the heavy side. I have really nothing to compare this mount to as far as weight is concerned, but I can assume that it would be considered heavy. I would also suggest a UTG side mount off of amazon.com. It is made of aluminum I believe and is cheap, light and solid. Not create a zombie thread here or anything. But front to back a 1/4"?? That doesn't seem right do -
How is mounting a light in this position beneficial? Doesn't it just wash out your optics or irons??

Calijohn nailed it here. I made mine by hand with of a piece of pipe. Centered it On the trunnion. It is quite narrower than factory made Ones I've seen. But it feeds 100% and does not deform soft and hollow points. So a wider centered one(CSS or otherwise) will be fine as long as the bolt clears it.
-
You can get them most places. CSS has some for around $13 and so do many other places. You just have to dremel down the ridge inside the handguard so the backing plates can fit flat.

I don't think changing ammo will help your situation with rusting really. If you want steel to look new all the time you need to keep it clean. It's an ak It would probably function fine with the gas tube caked with rust as long as nothing got jammed in the gas port. But if you want it to look nice and be a guarunteed dependable rifle then more than monthly cleanings are neccesarry. My Rule with everything has always been shoot it that day, clean it that day. JMO

Awesome, you are a step ahead of most. I really like those black polymer handled bayonets and they look nice on black rifles. But if you went with wood the Bakelite ones look nice.
-
You will only be able to mount a bayonet if a full front conversion was done with a front sight base that has a bayonet lug. If yours is a saiga rifle that the FSB has not been swapped with a ak74 front sight base you don't have a way to secure the bayonet. But if you have a bayonet lug then a Bulgarian bayonet shouldsurfice and can be had really cheap.

What can be done to maximize the accuracy of a Saiga rifle?
hutchsaiga replied to beachman's topic in Saiga 7.62 X 39
People on here have huge variances on what ammo works for them. Some get best groups with wolf and surplus stuff bites big time. Others have amazing results with the Yugoslav surplus. Try all of it, whatever seems to group best buy a metric ton. I think people have discovered ammo is a huge factor in how these rifles perform accuracy wise. It'll shoot it all. But some a little straighter than others -
That's what classy did and it worked fine for him. That's what I'm goig to do too. Get it sighted so the post is dead center between the ears by moving the fsb instead of the sight barrel then drill and pin it. Then you know you are perfectly aligned.

Awesome work! Paint it up and get a bayo and post some pics!! Haha

Really been digging my kershaws lately. Amazing prices most are American made, lifetime warranty and all are solid as a rock. -
Looks awesome, good work! I like how you did the selector black, I think it would look cool with the trigger black as well

There is a sticky in the 5.45 section by classy that has pictures and is very detailed. Also a google search would provide this info. Pretty much cut horizontally without going into barrel, beat old one off, pound new one on,pin it,done Mike in the for sale section has. Paunch of parts including bulgy ak74 sight bases and 24mm brakes at good prices.
-
Best of luck. If you don't mind post some pics as you go. I'm going to do this soon and like to see pics of other people work

Aggressive forward grab you say?? Magazine hold !!

Don't have one but they like a good idea. A saiga font ended one is around $370. And as a guess you would probably have over $170 in all new 24mm FSB, hanguards, gas tube,hg retianer. And that one is all factory new izmash stuff so if there available when I got mine I would have jumped on it.
