    dare I ask?

    Suggestion. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jZoRECL--40
  2. For the loctite I'd suggest amazon, they are great for small parts.. If you have prime you can get this listing, if not off to the right you can buy it from another seller with free shipping. http://www.amazon.com/dp/B000NPBD62/ref=cm_sw_r_tw_dp_l6X9vb1K2YZXD I'd guess a feeler gauge would probably work. Normally they are made from hardened spring steel. In the shop we use the harbor freight ones for shim stock all the time. I'm not exactly sure if the HF ones are high carbon steel or hardened. As for the screw maybe something like this. http://www.harborfreight.com/8-piece-right-an
  3. Duh oh course they are dangerous... Learning to walk is also dangerous, growing in teeth is also painful as I recall. Learning to ride a bike is a needed part of life for most people. Every part of growing up involves danger.. I think something like 400 out of 100,000 children don't make it to being adults.
  4. A break action shotgun. Limited range and the controls are super simple. They are not going to be able to hit anything at distance anyway, so remove that hazard. Exposed hammers are better, as it is simpler to understand than a safety.
  5. My brother has one of the shotguns in 20 gauge.. I have a braztech in 20 gauge that is also pretty decent, gritty compared to the H&R.. Great hunting guns, they weigh practically nothing and point really well. I reload 1 ounce hunting loads for them, those are a little stout, but beats carrying a 12 gauge pump up steep hills.
  6. Making potato sausage today..

The batch we made was 10 lbs pork 10 lbs beef and 5 lbs deer. Basically all the older meat out of the freezer. Then about 5 lbs of onions and 25 lbs potatoes. The mix is course ground and stuffed into natural sausage casings and boiled for 10 minutes followed by a basting of bacon fat and then baked for 30 minutes.

Oh good god, you are kidding. that sounds amazing! I just did a screen shot of the recipe, lol.

  7. The base model with the 18" barrel and standard stock is actually $500. It is the short models that cost a bunch.
  8. One observation about the shotgun.. If they had come out just a little later they could have used the MKA1919 mags instead of the Saiga, odds are it would have been close to fitting between the action bars, or been close enough to make custom action bars. That could have eliminated the need for a modified magazine. Just to be clear. Our magazines do not fit those shotguns.
  9. Ok no sales prices.. Our only scheduled sale is black friday, sale will start November 26th.. I don't know the exact details of it yet. I hope to have some new items for it and some promotional bundles.
  10. So apparently we bought a mill that was cutting molds and prototypes from a dead firearms project.. They made super capacity drums, like a 300+ round drum for a 10/22 and larger ones for AR-15s.. Apparently it was for military sales that never panned out. Weird to happen upon another mag company.

I would buy a 300rd 10/22 drum! You should look into it, it was meant to be, lol!

  11. Is it that time of the year already? I'll run it past my partners.
  12. Most of the semi auto shotguns on the market are ridiculous, dozens of little parts that all need to work perfectly to function. I have a chinese copy ithaca bottom ejecting pump.. Those are fairly simple for a pump gun.. I'll admit that the AK action takes simple to an extreme.. There are only a handful of things that can go wrong with it, one of the biggest problems are factory screw ups like blocked gas ports and roughly machined parts. If the factory did as good a job as Molot did with the Vepr shotguns and rifles the Saiga would not have a reputation of a expensive play thing.
  13. I'd check function as is first.. Looks like you have a 3" magazine installed. It will low feed 2 3/4" shells unless it has a wedge added to the follower. If you have the 2 3/4 inch mag (marked 20x70 if i recall) do your function testing with that mag. Your gun has a gas adjustment knob, make sure you use the correct setting. The 13 round clear poly magazines normally feed well. They are out of production as far as I know. There was a drum made for these in limited numbers. I make a 10 round steel mag for 2 3/4" http://stores.csspecs.com/saiga-20-gauge-10rd/ PS 922r on

    CSS Gas Puck

I'm the wrong css.... But I can tell you pretty definitely that the regular Saiga-12 one will NOT fit a 030.. I'd assume that the Vepr-12 is probably similar, however I'd wait until you get a reply from someone that knows better. The 030 Saiga-12 is more like a Vepr-12 than a Saiga-12.. The magazines are almost identical, the gas system is pretty much the same as well.
  15. So everything is trash because your sample is problematic? And then recommend an Utas? Odds are you have a common problem that most of the guys here could fix in about 10 minutes.. Cute... Did you ever try contacting customer service for any of the products?
  16. Assuming a survival only situation.. Gather food, defend yourself from others in the same situation. While moving 10+ miles per day on foot. I'd imagine break action single shot with three barrels. Shotgun, .22lr and a centerfire rifle round. The gun is light enough even with the two extra barrels. .22lr has the unique ability to have lots of ammo in a small and reasonably light package, shotguns are the only way to take down birds in flight. And a centerfire rifle is the only reasonable defensive round if you only get one shot at a time over distance. If I was leaving my home on foot
  17. Yeah that will work well..... (not) Finger prints do cause some rusting on bare metal. Painted surfaces like most AK patterns are not affected. Fingerprint corrosion on brass is fairly meaningless. But just don't make a habit of handling ammo that is going to be stored long term.
  18. They are probably fine, I have fired water damaged ammo that was swelling and it still worked ok. But that could be an indication that your storage is lacking. I have ammo that has been stored for better than 10 years and it is still shiny. Did you handle the ammo before putting it up. Human fingerprints cause corrosion on most metals. If you did not handle them, I would suggest finding a drier more temperature stable location.. Or ammo cans with dry packs.
  19. Midway has done a bunch of videos on how to repair those old fud guns. The single shots roughly the same concept as a double, just more simplistic. The section showing methods to tighten a break action start at around 7:40
  20. The car and van versions would be excellent for people with limited incomes.. I would love one of the vans, looks like it has more space in the back than my suv. But here in the states 'we' are so caught on the idea of electric cars, that cutting fuel use in half tomorrow, by just allowing an existing vehicle that is legal in the rest of the world is just too radical.
  21. If that is cast they are insane. But we are talking saiga rifles.
  22. From what I have seen, odds are the bolt and trunnion go together in one big bang.. Which means a full rebuild or at least pressing out the barrel and head spacing. Just get a firing pin, extractor and the needed springs. Hammer spring is also a good one. Get a spare trigger set as well. I keep a few $3 Romanian semi sets around, I figure if I NEED a replacement and can't order one, odds are 922r is not on my mind. Bolts don't seem to be the failure point. Its the small parts or the springs.
