  1. Reacher, you've got a great Dad there. Hold onto him as long as you can, and soak up as much of that knowledge as you can. I am envious. Nuff said.
  2. Those are both beautiful weapons!!!!!! Great job. Thanks for the write up and pictures.
  3. Just saw a mini Draco in my local trader paper this morning. NIB, and he was asking $895.00!!!!!!!! Are people really that stupid????
  4. Thanks guys for the compliments. I heard about this guy from a friend of a friend, who knew him from Gun Broker. He apparently had bought a bunch of kits before the barrel ban. These were mostly unissued numbers matching kits. Absolutely pristine. Still had the original receiver stub on it, which is why I really wanted to do a reweld on it. Much rather keep the matching numbers aspect, rather than an ORF POS with a different number. His name is Pat Jarvis and he owns Pataskala Shooters Supply in Ohio, I "think". Hell it's been since January that I bought the kit. Got the parts kit, 5 mags,
  5. Ditto on the Ironwood stock!!! Matt makes some beautiful wood, and that beautiful Norinco deserves it. Nice score!!
  6. That's insane!!!!!! I have noticed some prices in general on the rise lately. Hell, Bulgy 74's that were going for $369 all year are now over $500 at CFS. Getting closer to election time, and there will probably be another freaking panic.
  7. Finally finished my unissued, numbers matching Yugo M76 reweld. I had planned to have a local professional welder do it, but once he realized how much time it was going to take, he gave it back. I decided to do it myself with my little 110v HF flux core welder. It took a LOT of patience, and some trial and error, and a lot of anti-spatter paste, but she's done and ready to take out and test.
  8. The biggest issue to me is the effort, like others have already mentioned. The Galil style takes too much effort to move without moving the gun to gain better leverage. If it could be made to move as easily as an AR selector, then I'd be interested.
  9. Get a friend to help, and 2 bubble levels. IF you take your time and go very carefully, you can do it just fine. Using the TAT is definitely the prefered method though.
  10. Hey those are tactical water drain holes specifically put there per Mil-Spec for the Navy Seal Team Six!!! LOL. Looks great man. Good job on the conversion. Now get out there and blow some sh*t up!!!!!
  11. Flatside trunnion M70 underfolder? Did you build or buy that one? I haven't seen any of the flatside trunnion 1mm receiver types out there in a regular production rifle. (not that I'm Master Yugo Man or anything) I built one on an AK Builder M92 flat, but was never really happy with it. Later on I demilled it, and rebuilt it as a fixed stock on a standard AK Builder 1mm flat. Definitely prefer it now. Already have an underfolder milled M70 as well as a Polish underfolder, so that kind of gets rid of the underfolder bug. LOL. I love all of the Yugo variants. Would love to have at least one of e
  12. Like others have said, $700.00 is no deal, unless it's a milled receiver. That being said though, if you run across another MAK90 in the $500.00 range, and it has the straight cut back, jump on it!!! You won't be disappointed. Unlike other Chinese products out there, their weapons are usually very good. As far as the MAK90 variant of the AK platform, in my humble opinion, it's one of the best out there. Typically a very smooth action, better fit and finish and closer tolerances than most (not all) of your Eastern European counterparts, plus a 1.5 mm (or 1.6, I get confused between Yugo and
  13. A friend of mine that has shoulder problems put a Mako recoil reducing stock on his Romy SAR 2, and that thing feels like a .22 now. Not that a standard 7.62 AK has a ton of recoil, but it was drastically different side by side to my Yugo M70 pictured in my avatar. (middle with Tabuk stock) I figured that I would probably get one for my S-12, because I've had 4 surgeries to correct my right shoulder, and it gets sore as hell after a day at the range. With the different stocks I've had on my S-12, I'm only good for a few 10 round mags and then I've had enough.
  14. Dude, that is a steal !!!!!!!!!!!!! Seriously nice score. And you dumped the Promag plenty fast enough to take care of any Zombies that you might need to dispatch. They seriously need a properly converted and reliability modded Saiga 12 on AMC's The Walking Dead"!!!!!!!!!!
  15. Sergii, I've thought about doing something like that with a small fluid dampener. That looks pretty cool. Did you make that, or is that a part that you can go buy in a store?
  16. I want one so bad that my balls hurt!!!!!!!!! That is one sweet weapon!!!! So if it's around $1100.00 +/- a few $$$$, and you can get mags for it (by the time they start selling the shotgun), I am so in for one!!!!!!! What are the current mag capacity choices in Russia?
  17. Have you gotten any more video of it in action yet? Would love to see more. Thanks for what you guys do for the firearm community.
  18. I have seen home builds in 6.8 SPC and lately 6.5 Grendell. Nothing for sale though. I imagine that with some of the necessary custom parts, that it would almost double the typical build cost for an AK type rifle. I'm thinking maybe $600.00 to $700.00, IF, and that's a big IF, it's fully sorted, as well as cosmetically finished.
  19. That really is a nice magwell. It would be great if it would work with drums, but thats not a deal breaker for me. Great job. Ditto on the video of it in heavy use with several mag changes.
  20. Bohound, I totally agree. With home invasions nationwide being on the rise, and specifically in my area, I am truly concerned. It's 2 am, and you roll out of bed and grab your prefered HD weapon after hearing a crash in your kitchen. You have a serious choice to make. Is it a thief, or is it some type of LEO, excecuting a "no knock" warrant for some reason. Like you said, there have been MANY instances of LEO's getting the wrong house, and even the wrong street. It's a scary thought. As far as the OP, I think if you're using your S-12 for HD, then go with the factory 8 rounder if you have
  21. Awesome Kman! Now, how was the accuracy? Have you done any long range testing yet?
  22. That will be 75 usd total. Please note, US customs might add a small fee. Although I never had any extras when buying from or sending to the US for items under 100 dollars I'm in Greece, original molot and saiga mags are ease to get. Hey Saigano, how much do the Molot and Saiga mags cost (in US dollars) there in Greece?
  23. I'm still looking forward to a DS 12 or 16 round mag. Preferably sub $45.00. Any new status Mike?
  24. Nice build. I really like the sights, mag latch and trigger guard. Sets it apart.
