Eventually, she chilled out by eating soft-serve straight out of the machine. Employees posted the uncensored security footage to LiveLeak later that night, along with their running commentary.
  2. My understanding (as a general citizen, not attorney and not qualified to give legal advice) is yes, they did away with the 30" thing. It's now 26". However, if you have a rifle with a side folding stock that was registered as a pistol in the past while the law was in effect, it's still a pistol and can be carried loaded in the front seat.
  3. so now that they're legal, what are you getting? I put an order in for a DD with an 11.5" barrel. Keeps me just over 26" (with the muzzle brake off) so I don't have to register it as a pistol. Not sure how that would work if it was in a trust and I tried to register it as a pistol with my local LEO. A couple years ago when I registered my folding stock saiga as a pistol I got the feeling they were making it up as they went along so I'd rather not mess with it again.
  4. actually getting money back on taxes. Don't feel so bad about ordering that DD SBR.

  5. http://www.slate.com/articles/health_and_science/science/2012/12/hunting_by_liberal_urban_locavores_is_a_trend_good_for_the_environment.2.html More liberal hipsters are hunting it looks like. The eat local movement has finally caught up to realizing that hunting and growing your own food is a good thing. Hopefully this leads to more libs being less afraid of guns.
  6. thing looks like a kangaroo screwed a coyote.
  7. There is nothing like the feeling that comes from watching your children succeed.
  8. I think the Chief of Police should take it one step farther and offer free shooting lessons to any law abiding citizen in the D. It would be a great investment and probably the best use of time/police money I can think of.
  9. know any dealers who will be selling SBR's? And here's what the State Police say: http://content.govdelivery.com/attachments/MIMSP/2014/03/27/file_attachments/281097/MSP%2BLegal%2BUpdate%2BNo.%2B106.pdf Under 26" it has to be registered as a pistol in MI. Though it sounds like you guys are saying you can put a pistol in a trust.
  10. If I'm reading it right, under 26" is still a pistol in MI and I don't think you can put a pistol in a trust because in MI it needs to be registered to an individual which limits things a little. So you still need the CLEO sign off and can't efile. Pls correct me if I'm wrong. I'm thinking a 12.5 BCM which would come in at over 27".
  11. It says approved by Governor, but has a date of 4/22 next to it.
  12. Nope, your not missing anything. If the Governor doesn't sign the law will still go in to effect. I don't know the timeline on that though. I think he's got 2 weeks.
  13. Not much positive I can say about Detroit these days, but at least the Chief of Police is taking a pro-gun stance, encouraging citizens to be armed. It's been too cold here for the large crowds, but we'll see what happens this summer. http://www.detroitnews.com/article/20140131/METRO01/301310074
  14. passed by House and Senate for immediate effect, so just waiting for Gov. to sign I think. Unless I'm missing something. http://www.legislature.mi.gov/(S(rxf1ni55zkqivnis2glebl3v))/mileg.aspx?page=BillStatus&objectname=2013-SB-0610
  15. weather was finally good enough to go out and shoot yesterday. Good range trip, gun shoots better than me. I feel like that first shot with a new build I'm always thinking "will this blow up in my face?" Then the second shot is "did it cycle properly so I have a second shot?" It did cycle through and I had about 2 mags through it, the in started to malfunction. Hammer pin was walking out. I pushed it back in and it cycled fine. I do remember thinking when I put the hammer in, it went in a lot easier than the other builds I did. At the time I thought I was because I was getting bett
  16. An "E-Form" is when you digitally send in your Trust, Corporation or whatever along with your Form 1 or 4. You pay the tax with a credit card. From what I understand the wait time decreases from 12 months+ to 90 - 120 days. I will be doing a few of htese and see how it works for me. Exactly, and best yet you can track the form online, the form goes pending as soon as the credit card payment is received. What was real cool is they email you when the status has changed, I had 9 emails hit my phone over the course of two hours telling me the status had changed to approved. Whats weird is it
  17. waiting for the ATF sucks. I which it was like Fed Ex or UPS where you could pay more for expedited shipping.

    1. paprotective

      paprotective

I read 9 month waits for Class 3 NFA stamps. ugghh

Get a Trust set up, then you can file forms electronically. Those average only 3 months.

Considering a NICS check takes less than 5 minutes, this ATF system is ludicrous!

  18. Hmm... I might have to go back and read John Ringo's stuff again. It's been about 10 years or so since I picked one up.
  19. basically your online resume. Good for networking. If you're looking for a new job, or you're in sales it can be a good thing. Otherwise, don't bother.
