  1. You get a brand new gun made out of brand new parts, what's to consider?
  2. Back to posting from McDonalds...what a winner...
  3. A lot. I don't count, I just shoot till I run out then buy more. No.
  4. I'm retired Infantry and we were taught to aim for center mass. Screw taking the time to aim that specifically, unless you're a sniper taking out a single target you simply don't have the time for that.
  5. Sure that the muzzle blast didnt just knock it over? lmao...
  6. Hell, I'm proud to keep it on paper at 100 yards sometimes, but then my old "expert marksman" eyes aren't the same at 53 as they were back when I was in the service and shooting a hell of a lot more than I do now. I have yet to get the scope on both my Saiga and my new .50 blackpowder inline set as well as I'd like, the Saiga was still hitting about 3" low and to the right at 100 yards and the .50 was about 2" low and to the right when I left my shooting spot, never enough hours in the day for shooting everything that I want...
  7. My x39 had all the holes it needed for the conversion, and the mag latch had to be filed a fair amount, at least it seemed that way to me but then I was using jewelers files and going slowly on purpose.
  8. How much wood would a woodchuck chuck... A LOT...
  9. Doesn't specify country or manufacturer. http://centerfiresystems.com/PKG07.aspx
  10. You could possibly tape the penny in the center of a larger, bright orange target center and aim at that, but still... at 100 yards if you get under a 2" group even with a scope it's pretty rare, at least with the 16" barrel.
  11. If I glue pennies to an 8"x11" target board I bet I can hit one at 100 yards too...
  12. Wow, what a bunch of horseshit... not the list, but that website. "Democrats have the votes to impose upon us whatever they want..." What a bunch of tools...I'm actually dumber for having read that.
  13. Buy a "canoe pan". Make golden sponge cake. Take one 8 ounce package of cream cheese, beat in one cup of confectioners sugar, add one regular container of Cool Whip. Take a chopstick and make three holes in the bottom of the sponge cakes, wallowing out the hole inside a bit. Inject the cream cheese/cool whip mixture. EAT... these are 20 times better than the "almost plastic" crap in the Twinkies. You can also take that filling recipe and put it into a graham cracker crust for a quick fake cheesecake that takes like ten minutes to make start to finish...
  14. I make my own Twinkies, they won't last 30 years but they taste better.
  15. Went back into Walmart this evening, the Tulammo x39 is restocked, I'd say 50 boxes at least... well, 45 now. I don't buy online as I watch for sales in the local area and can pick it up for way less than shipping would cost me. I'm lucky in that I have a couple of good sporting goods stores close that have 9mm and .22 on sale frequently, and I buy the x39 at Walmart for target shooting and order SP from Cabela's when it's on sale and I have a gift card from doing surveys' that covers the shipping.
  16. ATF regs clearly say "engaged in the business of", not "do occasionally for beer money"...although I would err on the side of caution and not do anything that would require you to keep the firearm overnight.
  17. Well, a few days ago there was plenty of x39 at my Walmart and the "deer hunting" calibers spaces were empty. Today the x39 was empty (usually about 30 boxes there) and the 30/30 and 30-.06 were restocked and full. Can't blame the deer hunters on the x29 as it's Tulammo FMJ and we can't (not supposed to) hunt with it here. The $30 Winchester x39 was still there though, and plenty of .223 and 5.56 on the shelves, I guess it was just the cheap-ass panicked folks that hit it...
  18. Gunsmithing is not the same as manufacturing a firearm. If you aren't set up as an actual business doing it then minor smithing is allowed, and a conversion isn't as invasive and some might think. You're changing a stock and other cosmetic parts and moving the trigger group, you aren't fabricating parts or installing a barrel. Happens every day in cities all across the country.
  19. You had trigger listed twice in your parts list, I'll assume you meant hammer? I went with CSS, everything fit perfectly.
  20. To my fellow vets, thanks for your service. And to my buds and fellow FDC section members SSG Clint Wisdom and Don Clary, you will not be forgotten. KIA in Baghdad almost 8 years ago to the day by a suicide bomber while providing force protection...
  21. If he can't do a conversion on a Saiga, he's not a gunsmith in any aspect of the word, and I wouldn't let him load magazines for me...
  22. Recoil? I'm an old man and the recoil from the x39 ain't shit. Grab onto one of my Mosin's and shoot it first, everything else is like shootin a BB gun...
  23. The previous version of the UN treaty wasn't addressed in any manner towards a ban on imports or exports of firearms, that would ignorant as hell for any of the larger nations to agree to, the US especially since we are one of the largest exporters of firearms. It was to require more accountability for the manufacturing process, to eliminate things happening like China and Russia have done in the past, produce firearms with no records accessible to show when or how many Mosin's, or AK's, or SKS's were produced, or where they went. It addresses issues like serial numbers and exporting arms to r
