  1. To me it looks like he's thinking "I sure wish I could have this one instead of that junk M16 that didn't even come with a cleaning kit"...
  2. I've taken a few over the years when applying for certain jobs and can vouch that they are unreliable as I lied my ass on on them and passed with flying colors which was a bit scary when you think about what the jobs were... it all depends on how well you keep your cool under stress. People who freak out over taking one can fail baseline questions just because they're nervous which screws up the whole thing.
  3. Sure, the only problem is telling how hard it is. What you have in mind?
  4. Classic has the best price at the moment. Pretty much all the big C&R sellers have them at a decent price, AIM you have to check as they sell out pretty quick when they get them in.
  5. Once them bath salts kick in I guess the smell of burning hair doesn't bother you...
  6. Thread the barrel. Use a crush washer to properly index whichever brake or flash hider you are installing, you can peel a layer at a time off the washer until it lines up properly. I suppose when you get it set just use some red threadlocker and no worries.
  7. Mine had all the signs of having come off the military line as well, finally got around to pipe-cutting the barrel shroud off, no threads there damnit and have yet to find a local smith that will (or can do) the LH threads. Buying the die and doing it myself will have to wait, I've got waaaay too many projects as well as being self employed to keep me busy for a strictly cosmetic mod.
  8. I've never seen a die that has a taper on both sides... you should have one side that is wider than the barrel diameter that is used to start the threading, the back side should be the finished diameter, or close to it since that's an adjustable die.
  9. Says NOT MADE IN USA in the description... Made from anodized aluminum and clamps round the barrel and gas tube. Comes with rubber rail covers not shown. These are not made in the USA and do not count as a 922r compliance part.
  10. I bought a Tasco, the fiber optic was messed up inside so exchanged it, it only lasted about a month on my .22, if it won't handle that then I have no intention of trying them on anything heavier.
  11. Westboro could be taken care of easily, just toss a couple of shit eating dogs over the fence of their enclave...
  12. I try and stock up on pretty much everything that we use, from food and ammo to paper products, medications, etc. If I could afford to buy 20 cases of MRE's and buckets of SHTF food, I would, simply because I HATE needing something and not having it. While I certainly HOPE that the SHTF doesn't happen, just watching the various world governments is enough to send shivers down my spine, especially the stuff going on in the Middle East, then you have the Israel situation that we may get dragged into real soon. The economy is in the tank and our government can't fix it and we need to just realize
  13. Is there enough clearance on it to powder coat it? It usually adds about 3 mils.
  14. I know on the round trunnion you can use a chunk of water pipe with the front edge just beveled a little bit, on the flat one could you just use a bit of plate the same way?
  15. Gonna do a bullet guide so you can use the cheaper AK mags?
  16. I apologize for not being more specific, the reference intended was to use the internet to confirm/deny or just find out more information on things rather than immediately assume it's accurate. Whether you use Google, Bing or any of the other methods is entirely up to you.
  17. I read it, and it's shit. Thanks for spouting off though. So you read all 25 resolutions, good for you. Then you know that it's intended to enforce serial-numbering of firearms and make manufacturers keep production records, as well as more stringent inventory requirements for government ammunition stockpiles then... The UN can "adopt" any treaty it wants, it's just basically a "wish list" that they hope one day all the nations will sign so that it actually becomes something and they can all go home and feel justified in their lives. And it wasn't a treaty, it was a Final Report.
  18. Another one here that has less than no interest in watching a bunch of over-paid idiots chasing a ball around. There are a few athletes who do good things with their huge salaries, but most are a bunch of whiny ass delinquents still. I never figured out how anyone got "enjoyment" out of yelling at the tv, or in person, that they could do a better job at quarterbacking/receiving/officiating/etc. I'd rather be out shooting, or if stuck inside, read a good book or jam bamboo splinters under my nails than watch "organized" sports...
  19. ACTUALLY... c'mon guys, does anyone bother to actually find out about something before just spouting off whatever first reaction they have to crap that someone sees on another forum or on one of these online "shock sites" that are only intended to piss people off that don't know what's actually going on? The NRA wants to take credit, that's fine, they don't seem to mention that other countries besides the US asked for more time to look over the treaty, only to have the UN slap their little hands and say NO and leave the conference. Most consider these "time" requests to have been little mo
  20. It really doesn't matter if someone needs it, if you make it, thousands of people will buy it, especially if you label it "tactical"...
  21. I bought a cheap one off ebay, it does what it's supposed to do.
  22. Here I sit with a shop, bead blaster and I powdercoat on a weekly basis, so why does my Saiga have a spray painted receiver...
  23. I picked up one of the cheap laser boresighters for my Saiga simply because the scope I was going to use came off another rifle and I figured it would be WAY off what I needed on the x39 and I was right, save me probably at least 20 rounds trying to figure out where I needed to move since they would have been WAY off the target to start with. I usually start with my scope at a 25 yard target just to get on paper then go to 50 then 100.
