  1. The warrior of the wastelands. The Ayatollah of Rock N Rolla. Lord Humungous. How could you not love that tagline?
  2. It's not the acronym; that was a small attempt at humor. Please do me the favor of not assuming there are only two views in this discussion; yours/like-minded people like you and the oblivious. I don't make a habit of spreading my views, especially on the internet, as that gets noticed. Again, moderation in all things. It's self-defeating to go around preaching EMP blast and all the rest, because no one will listen to you. Have you written your legislators? Have you college degrees in power generation fields and have you been published in American tech journals? I'm not trying to compare di
  3. Does anyone else get a "this guy may be nuts" vibe whenever someone whips out that titorwaikiki acronym? I mean, I know what it stands for, but even saying it smacks of raving paranoia and government conspiracy. I'm all for being prepared, but there's no use preaching gloom and doom when no one who can actually make a difference will listen, and all it will do is land you on a list. Moderation in all things. Be prepared, but be low-profile.
  4. Greatest generation fought WWII and Korea. Baby boomers fought Vietnam. Different generations. Let's not romanticize the giant mess the baby boomers created with memories of what their parents accomplished. The boomers were given the world in the 50s, and had wrecked it by the 70s. Their efforts at finally calming down in the 80s and raising a family created bleak suburban sterile hells and divorce rates greater than anything ever known. Their children, raised on a mantra of "you are special," know no work ethic, but it wouldn't matter if they did, because the jobs that were promised i
  5. My stock 10/22 loves CCI Blazer and no malfunctions after a brick over a weekend of an Appleseed. Appleseed consensus seems to be whatever works, just no Remington Thunderbolt
  6. Take a deep breath and smell the outrage, it is about damned time. Been feeling that since I was a kid and now Im getting old so long time coming. I cannot say what will happen Darth after this thing goes biblical. Indeed I hope it is biblical, as horrible as that would be there is still hope if true. Baugh has his points, no matter how much I may hate them. But I value a clear conscience highly so I understand your point. BTW I am not even sure it could be sped up... but its something to think about in particular if you read his book. I thought this way for a while. I
  7. Fuck that shit. You all don't understand freedom. Freedom isn't necessarily safe. Freedom means I have the right to enjoy my life unless _I_ prove I can't. No tests, no bullshit, no audits. Someone gets into a wreck, guess what, other people have wrecks, too. Multiple wrecks? Ok, suspend the drivers license. Own guns? Until I threaten people with them or wrongfully shoot someone, or at them, no, you don't get to test shit, and if you try to test me at that age, perhaps I'll demonstrate how well I can aim, on you. Alzheimer's makes you forget things, not turn into a murderer. Dementia ma
  8. Ok, based on your response, I don't think it's fuel. I bet you've got a cracked connection someplace. Check your coil ground. I think the engine torquing through the shift is causing you to momentarily lose ignition. It's probably something stock and dumb on the 12V or ground side of the ignition system. Just go tug on all the wires, even the dumb ones.
  9. We need more info. Does this happen every time at that engine speed and gear? Does it happen once and stay gone? Does it pulse, like every few seconds? How did you "eliminate" the ign box and coil? Is it missing, or falling on its face? A miss is ROOOOOOOOOOOOAR-PAP-ROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAAAR and falling on its face is ROOOOOOOOOOOOOOAR-bluuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuh-rrrrRRRRROOOOOOOAR Misses are usually electrical, falling on your face is fuel or air. Also, does this happen near a shift point? Torquey engines twist and move wires, some wires have bad connections.
  10. I'm not married. I'm not good with girls, I don't chase them. Managed to lose 80 pounds this past year, so maybe, if I keep going, I'll get ripped and have some confidence. That being said, from the outside I can see miserable marriages of friends and co-workers and see how they treat each other. However, sometimes pride is all you got. I may be single forever, but at least I am not a home-wrecker or a freeloader. If a marriage isn't working, then you shouldn't have to suffer, but there's ways to do that, and there's ways to not do it. If you got married to a beautiful woman, and she h
  11. I think some fundamentals of shooting are being forgotten. If you are prone, your support hand is under the fore-end, your elbow is planted. This is the pedestal from which you are shooting. You do not move this pedestal, you move around it, closer for lower, further away for higher, left and right with your hips to pivot. You do not move your support arm. To change mags, you do not move your support arm. To cycle the action, you do not move your support arm. To turn the safety off, you do not move your support arm. Your firing arm is grounded, but it is of no support. Your nat
  12. I prefer Appleseed's view. It's more positive. Are you a Rifleman?
  13. I shot deer with a single action 20 at age nine. We had my granddad's model 97 Winchester that I believe I shot somewhere around then.
  14. Good 223 ammo should run a 5.56 rifle just fine. Try a different mag, different ammo, and make sure the weapon is cleaned and lubed properly.
  15. "Am I being detained, Officer?" If no; "Goodbye" (Leave) If yes, "What is your probable cause" or "Under what charge?" See, cops can't arrest you for nothing; they can't detain you for nothing, but they can try to fool you into standing there. Never fight with the cops then and there. Get the details, get a lawyer, take them to court. If it's at home, hopefully you have good enough doors to stop them while you call 911 and get them to back down. In the semi-lawful USA we still have, that is how you deal with bad police. If, of course, it gets worse, then you can deal with
  16. Great mod for half life called counter life. All the counterstrike guns, the mobs dropped cash, and you bought what you wanted.
  17. Back when: The original Prince of Persia, Dragon Wars, and Thunderchopper were hard. The cake went to Wings of Fury, a side view WWII fighter game where you flew a Hellcat. There was no beating it. You just got more missions on Captain level. I found a code goof where, if you crashed your last plane on the deck of a boat as it sank and you got the you sank a ship message, you got infinite lives.....still didn't help. Doom 3 on nasty mode was rough. Portal 1 and 2 takes some serious thought, but I really like them. The hardest game for me is controlling my ten man raid group in WoW.
  18. Those rails are not designed for that. It's one thing to have a light accessory (the puns!) on a rail which will not have much KE due to lack of weight, but, when a weapon is hanging off another one's rails, firing it will put tremendous stress on the attachment. Also, your trigger finger will get hurt unless your trigger hand has a place for it to go. Strongly recommend carrying a sidearm, multiple primary mags, and getting good, as opposed to Frankensteining shit. There's a lot of things not done in the gun world. Most have been tried and are bad. A few are revolutionary and good.
  19. I like my Indiana permit. I guess I should update it, having moved.
  20. I hope there never is a WMD terrorist attack against any Western nation. I'm tired of Islamic terrorism. Part of the problem with terrorism is they have no soft target you can hit back or threaten. However, ISLAMIC terrorism has such a target, and they pray to it every day. A valid tactic of reprisal would be to nuke it green, spread your hands, and say "Now it's on." A few years of war, then that troublesome religion can go the way of the dodo. Of course, I prefer peace, but, if the other side will only have war, then they can lose horribly, for all I care.
  21. The saiga is reliable for its designed loads. It is, like said above, modifiable into reliability for light loads. However, the ergonomics, recoil, and trigger out of the box are not good. It is a military firearm, and an inexpensive one, so it will not be as slick as a Benelli, but it will be 1/3 the cost. But, it is one of the only box mag fed shotguns out there (and drum, baby!) and, if you become proficient at running the gun, it is awesome. Shotgun shells are heavy, it is heavy, and high brass loads hurt the shoulder. I don't recommend women or little men going to the Saiga for
  22. That's neat. I saw one of a Golden meeting the owner outside on the yard, same circumstances. Dog was backflipping over the dude's lap, that happy.
