  1. Dependent on weather and mood. Hot summer days I carry a CZ-83 in 9x18 Mak with Hornady XTP JHP loads. Other times I am usually wearing a Springfield XD-9 Service as it has yet to fail me in function or accuracy. I also have a HK P2000 in 9mm with the LEM trigger system, a customized (Novak tritium sights, extended beavertail safety, commander hammer, full length guide rod, dropped and flared ejection port, magwell and ambi safeties) Springfield GI Champion 1911, a CZ-75B compact and a pair of .38 Special snubbies from Taurus. My carry gun is depending on mood/threat level and I rated master
  2. A1 and A2 use the same tube. If you use an A2 stock, you need to buy a spacer and an A2 screw to accomodate the extra 5/8". Bushmaster sells both, as a set, for $6.50. You can find them cheaper elsewhere, but this should get you started in your search. Thanks, I may just get an A1 stock to trade in on my dissipitator carbine. I need to convert it to single point sling anyway.
  3. Darn, I got myself a Krinker Plinker but now I want this. So many nice toys, so little time.
  4. All the Stags I have seen are good. I use Stag lowers for all of my custom builds now. The nice part is they chrome their bores for corrosion resistance and easy cleaning. Been thinking of getting a Stag 2T myself. A nice thing on their tactical rifles is the rear BUIS has a notch above the peep so you can use it in extreme close quarters without mechanical offset problems.
  5. Actually there are several bull pup systems which have ambi ejection and controls. The US is very far behind the curve as far as modern infantry weapons and weapons development period. They just want to hang more failure prone electronics on everything to allow a pentagon chair bound lard ass to micromanage everything (shades of the movie "Aliens"). The French, Israelis, Brits, Germans, Austrians, Chinese and Russians have already experimented with bull pup designs, some worked, some didn't. The problem is that McNamara gutted the US arms industry and it has not recovered yet. Pentagon big wh
  6. I bought a new Wz88 Tantal build in 5.45x39 about two months back. It was produced by High Standard under their InterArms brand. Uses a Arsenal USA receiver and matching polish parts kit. The entire gun has a very nice parkerized finish and accepts all standard AK-74 5.45mm Mags. Has the standard folder stock and an AK-74 muzzle brake that also functions as a grenade launcher. Cost me around $600 at the time and I think it was advertised in the latest Centerfire Systems rag for $549. If you are looking for a Tantal build for your collection get one of these, really a nice rifle. Just an FY
  7. Not sure where you would get an A1 tube if you went with the A1 stock. Cavalry Arms makes the stock but not the tube from what I can tell. I am partial to the A2 and MagPul CBR stocks myself. I highly recommend the CAA modular AR grip, really comfy.
  8. Or use ProMag Polymer AK-47 mags. They work great in my AMD-65 and count as three US parts. THey look just like the polymer Bulgarian mags just lack the metal mag lip reinforcement. I have not had any issues with them.
  9. Sell a POS AR-15 and you can get at least two Saigas, hehe.
  10. Hmm, I guess Big 5 is going on my "banned" stores list now. I bought a nice Yugo 24/47 from them for $99 before but guess I won't anymore. Thanks for the heads up.
  11. Does that stock need a modification to the rear trunnion? If so then it is a deal breaker, if not I may be interested.
  12. I just got my copy of the circular. These prices beat the cost of my local store.
  13. Hey bud, I no longer wear green all day or do push ups for a living. Yeah, I know the brotherhood is eternal but I no longer risk my life on the line so I do not want to take any credit from those who do. Semper Fi. I hope my comment was not taken wrong as it was only offered IN the spirit of brotherhood. I may not be as lean and mean, but I'm STILL 100% Marine. The Title was hard earned and I will NEVER give it away. The one's in harms way need us old Jarheads more than ever. As a voice here at home (Political or otherwise) to make sure they have what they need to fight and that
  14. I have been satisfied with em over all, made several builds using their kits and Stag lowers. They function well and are decent price. They claim the barrels they use come from ER Shaw. I had one problem with a M4 type carbine utilizing a picatinny gas block which was canted a couple of degrees off center when assembled. This was an easy fix as it was the model held on by bolts, just loosened the bolts timed the gas block correctly and problem was solved.
  15. I have not had that problem with Olympic arms not dropping the mags. Is this something new or do you think the mag release button just needed to be backed out a couple of turns? Nope had this issue on several of their lowers, and it is not the release button. The magwell is too short fore to aft and rubs ont eh magazine body. It does not happen with every receiver they make but enough to make me not buy their stuff again. Their barrels are supposed to be top notch though.
  16. Considering what I have seen at the local ranges maybe all guns SHOULD be engraved this way and require the breaking of a 512 bit encryption key to operate. Ever see someone at the range wave a gun muzzle down the line? I have. Or put a uncased gun down on a big RED sign stating, "NO UNCASED FIREARMS TO BE PLACED HERE"? It seems the recent generation of gun owners were issued Brains, substandard, short of a full six pack.
  17. I used the same Rustoleum myself on the receiver. So far it is holding out great and you cant tell it has been refinished. I will not be using brake cleaner or gun scrubber on my gun though as those products would melt the plastic furniture.

  19. Let us not forget the current republican administration raping the constitution even more with domestic surveillance legislation thinly disguised as "Patriot Acts". Is this not what the KGB did in the USSR? It is what I escaped from the former Soviet Bloc for, and I do not need to see it here. I often hear if you have nothing to hide you have nothing to fear, but what about in the future? What will stop the government from saying something we do now is illegal in the future and then if the surveillance legislation exists you will be in a world of hurt. The best domestic security would be to
  20. DI: "Pain is ....?" Recruits: "GOOD SIR!" DI: "Extreme pain is...?" Recruits: "EXTREMELY GOOD SIR!" LOL! I shot close to a hundred rounds in one session with the skeleton stock wearing a t-shirt. Towards the end of the session those were the words that were running through my head. I also recommend barbell flys and shoulder shrugs to build up the muscle tissue around the shoulder. As a former marine I am well experienced in pain, heheh. That does not mean that I have to enjoy it though or that I can not do something to reduce it. Besides weakness leaving the body, pain
  21. Nice gun.. I have oen of the Century Golani rifles and am very happy with it. Just wish the gas piston was in a bit better shape, it suffers from the years of IDF neglect most of their stuff does. Can a Galil Gas piston be replaced with an AK piston? Just curious as the rifle works fine as is. Might need replacement in the future though.
  22. Chrome lining is what I would get if it was a SHTF gun, depends on what you are goign to use it for. There is a reason chromed bore is milspec. Also, I think chromed bolt assemblies are worth the extra buck in reduced maintenance time. Yeah, building your own is fun, lets you learn about how the system works and to do basic maintenance/repair. I buy my kits from Model 1 Sales and have been happy with them so far. Stag lower receivers have served me well too. Stay away from Olympic Arms lower receivers as the do not drop the magazine. On magazines spend the extra money and get MagPul follow
  23. Just got a question champ. I also live in california what type of mags are those!! And where can I find some similar ones I thought those living in Kommiefornia are not allowed detachable large capacity feed devices. I know I can't go to GSSF matches there as I have an evil Glock 17 assault weapon with evil detachable high capacity 17 round magazines. What is the low down on that, are not high capacity devices supposed to be permanently attached in the People's Demokratik State of Kommiefornia? Last I hear it was a felony to posses one.
  24. I prefer my "Krinker Plinker" build, costs more but looks cooler with the fake supressor. The Krinkov side folder stock on it a nice touch. Most at my gun club actually think I am using a suppressed weapon since the .22 is so quiet.
