The only difference is that it is a Charter Arms AR7 not a henry. There is a henry in the photo and that would be the lever action. I have had one of my AR7's since the early 80's and it has performed excellent for me. I have taken it on some really long canoe trips and many backpack trips. I have used it to provide many rabbits for meals on these trips even though they were not real survival conditions it was nice to have it with me to take advantage of the opportunities. As with all autoloading firearms I still think that 90% of the time feeding issues are related to the magazines.

there are four bersa 380's in the group I shoot with, all function flawlessly. I like mine but since time is on your side I would recommend waiting just a little longer and picking up a Walther ppk/s interarms, assuming it is as comfortable to you. Currently my two favorite cc's are the ppk/s or the P64 (a bit harsh for some but I like it). Even Glock has made some lemons in thier time, difficult to get a glock fan to admit it but I have seen several that required work to function properly.

I don't recall the list of Sportsman's warehouse stores that will be closing but some are filing for bankruptcy, this is too bad as they were very competitive in our area and I believe kept Cabela's and Bass pro in check. Hopefully SW can get it together and recover, would be a resource I would not want to loose.

I am begining to think that the warmer/dryer climate here is a big advantage to the shooting sports. Neither I or my friends seem to have the problems with cetain types of firearms that others just don't seem to be able to get to work. I am not as big a fan of the 12 gauge so more than likely would pass on an AR variant in 12gauge. The curiosity of the Safir T14 just seem to strike my fancy. I have been pleasantly surprised with its performance and hopefully will be able to come up with a choke for it. Oh yeah and some mags that hold a few more rounds would be nice.

I disagree whole heartedly with the OP. This shotgun was made to kill. It will kill what ever it is pointed at in almost any condition. That is what makes is such a great hunting weapon. I don't just hunt birds on sunny spring days. Some of my best hunting has come in climates that, dare I say most of you won't even leave the house. The Saiga line of shotguns have always brought home the meat while I have watched the benelli's either freeze up or gum up. I have all three and the S20 is the only one I have converted. I don't use the S20 for hunting and wanted to convert one to a folding stock w/ pistol grip. My S20 eats everything I put in it and yes a drum or larger cap magazines would be nice.

when we go into the desert to shoot I use a 40 X 60 tarp to collect all of our trash. Just pick up corners and all goes to center for easy collection. As I reload all gauges the hulls are top priority. The hard cases I trade to others for reloaded rounds.

I get more free reloading items from those trying to reload 410 than I buy. Seems some folks just don't have the patience to relaod 410. It is no harder than any other gauge, just takes a little patience getting the smaller components in place. I can do 8 boxes an hour on my progressive mec reloader which is no where near as fast as my 12 and 20 but the financial rewards on the 410 are much greater. Funny how those who say the 410 is useless don't let you prove it on the range in competition:)

I have two of the AR7 rifles and one of the Explorer 2 pistols. They work flawlessly and have for many years. I have had to replace the bolt and barrel in one of them as it wore out at approx. 60k rounds. I used the ramline 25 round magazines to the point that the follower won't stay in the mag housing anymore, they still function though. Both rifles and pistol are charter arms from the very early 80's. A friend of mine has a charter arms from the later 80's and it needs the magazine bottom shimmed forward to work perfectly. I picked mine up at JGSales. You are correct they are a fun gun to shoot. Took a little getting used to the scope but not all is good. Since I already had a few other 54R rifles this one just seem to fit right in. They warned me of the thinner barrel and heat up issues. Nothing big just wanted me to take my time and not get it as hot as a standard AK.

The ferrets are actually pretty fun to drive. I don't know how they can put top speed over 35mph though. The RR engine in most of the state side units has been changed out to a studebaker motor (bad swap really). The Saigas inability to fire 3 1/2 has kept it home on a few duck/goose hunts. I still take a russian gun afield though. I use the SPR453 which also has an adjustable gas system (4 way). Would be nice if the Saiga could handle 3 1/2 but alas it is not to be. If you like 00 buck look into T shot.

A buddy of mine just picked up his 3rd saiga, a 308 today. After a good cleaning we took it out and had cases being dented up similar to what you are showing in the pics above. My question is after the filing did it fix the problems? His is denting them so bad they will not chamber. The gunsmith at the store where he bought it told him "that is what you get for buying that russian POS", I could hardly contain myself. well I turned over 1500 rounds on my Safir T14 today. While at the range, turning lots of heads, I managed to shoot 48 out of 50 birds using remington 8shot nitro clay rounds. I was at the rifle range with slugs first, still need work on sighting the slugs in. I was using winchester 1/5 ounce slugs and with limited experience shooting AR style rifles was able to get decent groupings at 50yds but nothing special. The gun itself worked perfectly but the front sight which is held in place by an allen screw came loose enough to allow the plastic pieces to snap apart a bit. An easy fix with th
