  1. finished some work on my S20. A little more work than a 12 but all in all I like the results. Tapco G2 trigger group Tapco folding stock SAW pistol grip Saiga tech trigger guard and SAW grip fastner Polychoke considering sight options, open for suggestions
  2. This thread was started some time ago. Did your friend ever decide? It is sad that Walther put the P22 out when they did. The first P22's made had lots of problems. The current P22 (which I carry in the field for small game) being made work well. Having said that I don't think you would be well advised to use a 22 for home defense. There are just too many options out there. There are a bunch of police carry weapons being updated at this time which make real good options. There is a lot of debate issues over the type/size of home defense weapons. Most don't consider when you would be u
  3. Well I for one appreciate the good deed. Now if you could just send them out west as the season opens in 156 days 8 hours and 23 minutes.
  4. Some people get to drive Rolls Royce's and others Yugo's Here is my Yugo, but I like it.
  5. Nope not yet.... Well if the time is drawing near for the completion of the LRBHO, any chance of a WTB list being started?
  6. Thats why even though I had a couple of balsa plugs made I still picked up the wire ones from Cobra. Wanted to try out both ways. They both seem to work equally well but was concerned about the longevity of the balsa in the S12, never been an issue in the S410 though.
  7. Now to through a rat in the soup. The moved trigger group and pistol grip make it a little more difficult to hunt birds with (IMHO). I have one converted and one original. I always take the monte carlo stock to the field. The conversion is only taken out when I want to impress the buddies with a cool looking shotgun. I can shoot the heck out of the cans with a conversion but don't seem to be able to bring down the birds with it, which kind of makes it look silly. I am hoping to do the LRBHO on both when it becomes available to work with the MD drums.
  8. Its kind of like getting the invite to the party of the year. The time will drag on slowly but it will get here. I know like most I am patiently and anxiously waiting for the quality product we all know will make it to our doors. The ones who don't get to make it to the party will have to wait for the next invite and then hopefully they will make it. Until then lets get the gifts ready, lots of ammo!!
  9. I have used balsa wood in my 410 for years to plug it down. When I got the s12 I made the pieces for a couple but found Cobra's wire system to work a little better. AZ changed the rules on me and lets us use 5 rounds for the non migrating birds so most of the plugs came out anyway. Only 168 days, 18 hours, 26 minutes and 15 seconds left till opening of duck season. Got to get ready.
  10. way cool if he gets the price it just raises the price of the ones we own.

    .410 ammo ?

I bought mine here. At 8.95 a box it was the cheapest 3" I could find at the time http://www.the-armory.com/shopsite_sc/stor...product376.html
  12. I thought for sure someone would speak up for AZ. As long as you stay at least as far north as Phoenix the crimigrants aren't bad. There is a variety of elevations to choose from so you can get the weather you like, it is not all desert. The prescott area also has JG sales for ammo supplies and the hunting while not the best in the country is not all bad. We have lots of public and state land that is good for hunting (the only reason I own my saigas). Oh yeah and the strong dislike for the Kalifornia types help keep their numbers down.
  13. I am a 410 enthusiast but these 410 pistols have got to go. The round just does not work in that short of a barrel. Might as well use party poppers, the confetti does less damage to the car, you don't need a concealled weapons permit and they are cheaper per round. I have even owned a 410 snake charmer, which I sold as it was also worthless except to waste perfectly good ammo. Now if anyone wants to see what the 410 can do in real life against living things they are more than welcome to come out hunting with me. The 410 is a great round when used within its limits and the pistol is not e
  14. I also bought five of the keepshooting s12 mags. and had to fit them to the gun. I also had to do this with one of the stock mags I had so I did not think anything of it. The part of the mag which the mag release locks against has just a bit too much material. Both stock and KS mags work the same now with no noticeable difference. Still a great deal
  15. 12 ga slug good deal or not? I have not shot any wolf ammo in my saigas so I don't know how well it works. Also any better prices on slug ammo? http://www.the-armory.com/shopsite_sc/stor...roduct1141.html
  16. Bought my O/U's at Walmart. The russian made spartan line has proved to be fantastic. They are not as pretty as some of the real expensive guns but they do have srew in chokes and have served me well. I have the .410 and 12 gauge shotguns and both have been extremely reliable in hunting conditions.
  17. I am a 410 nut so any 410 is great for me. I do agree with the group if you want to modify and don't have any other shotguns around the 12 is probably the way to go. Currently have all three shotties available from Saiga. Now it is time to figure out how to get the Safir T14.
  18. same issue with my s20 polychoke. The wrench appears to be the one for the s12. Still installed and looks great. Can't wait for the weekend.
  19. first would be sad to see a 24" barrel wasted on a cut down project. So many people looking for them to hunt with and so few to be had. The 19 is more common and would make a better candidate for cutting. Cutting down and rethreading should not be a problem, the choke just screws onto the barrel in the same fashion as the factory chokes do.
  20. Picked up the S410 years ago (because I really enjoy hunting with 410s), then the need for an auto 12 came to be for duck hunting. I went with the shotgun that had given me sooo much fun over the years and purchased the S12. The S12 has worked out fabulous for the heavy loads and inclimate weather involved with duck hunting so I picked up an S20 for smaller birds. Mine are all stock out of the box and will stay that way as long as I own them, though I do have an extra S12 still in box that keeps telling me to mod it, once the 20rd mag gets here we will see what happens to it. Oh yeah and th
  21. Sweet pistol. I have the older brothers, the CZ52 and CZ82 and really enjoy them. I have not bothered with many add ons except the 52 has an extended BHO release lever.
  22. Looking for one more S12 with 24" barrel. Seems the 19's are more popular but don't really want a 19" barrel. Anyone seen one for sale?
  23. No doubt. Would really much rather have a quality product than a product shipped before its time. In the Pinzgauer community we have been waiting for almost 2 years for a EFI system for the trucks. All the time reading the post of the results from the first prototype unit and how well it is working. Like Mike D. the builder of the EFI unit wants to put out the best possible unit and will not do so until he is sure that he has done all he can do. This is not a bad thing just requires patience. In the end we all will be very happy, this I am sure. I have just taken possesion of a Smart
  24. I hope the drums start getting shipped soon, the tile floors are starting to show signs of wear from all the paceing back and forth. Trying to be patient but all the posts about how well they work is making it difficult.
