  1. Anybody know a good SKS forum? I can't imagine it would compare to the Saiga forums here but not many other forums can.
  2. Where's the pics? With a 20 round drum and some 10 round AGP's I'd have to add a couple 12 rounders to the collection.
  3. I love my Surefire 30's for my 7.62. What's this 12 rounds of 12 guage talk?
  4. I was wondering that too awhile back...don't go trying it on my advice but I held the BHO up and pulled the action back, as it passes the BHO it bumps it down a little on it's way by if I remember right and then since I'm still pushin up on the BHO, on the way back it catches. Now doing this in realtime would probably be a little different because you're dealing with the recoil so would you even be able to keep a hold on the BHO? And how would you do it? Use the side of your right hand pointer finger near the first knuckle while pulling the trigger? Like I said, don't go trying this on my
  5. And depending what all they did on the conversion, those prices are either cheap or expensive. $600 seems to be the max I've seen a stock S12 sell for at a shop. Anything more at this date and time is a little ridiculous. $500 I've seen seems to be today's "decent deal". You can convert yourself for under $200 easy.
  6. I like the 12 because why get the V-6 when you could get the V-8? Besides that, unlike gas, I think 12 guage ammo is cheaper than 20. Easier to find too.
  7. I like feeding my Russian Saiga with some Russian 7.62.
  8. This sounds like a job for the Tromix DIY TG: ...and a SAW PG, wait you want the wood stuff so figure out whose wood PG's work with the Tromix TG and then get that matching stock and handguard, what else...Dinzag's AK Retainer Plate & his G2 FCG with the hammer mod for BHO (assuming you have a BHO), some of those nylon plugs, and some other stuff I'm forgetting at this time...making this list makes me wanna go buy another to convert.
  9. http://dinzagarms.com/misc_parts/akretp.html Dinzag's retainer plate works wonders!
  10. I've got the Surefire clear 30 rounder that came with a LRBHO feature on it (just a metal cylinder on one side of the follower). Works good.
  11. Seen that leather beauty quite a bit in the picture thread over at the office chair forum.
  12. Shoot it first just so you can appreciate how good your new FCG will be!
  13. Once the bolt is in position I believe you rotate the bolt head ccw (if you were looking at it from the barrel end). You should see a groove in it that will line up with the track in the receiver. The very first time I ever reassembled my 12 I had the same issue, just trying to figure out which way to get it to go back in...one important thing is you've got to push down on the carrier to get it aligned, you push down when the carrier has gone forward just enough to clear the rear of the receiver. Pushing down the carrier a bit pushes the hammer down so you'll be able to line everything up c
  14. Good to know I could probably get a pretty penny for mine if ever the need arises. (Doubt it will though.) There should be a Tromix owners club.
  15. Try carrying a flashlight and a shotgun at the same time, just doesn't work. And zombie's only come out at night right? At least in some of the movies.
  16. I'm going to scuff it up a bit then paint. The paint's gotta have some texture to stick good to.
  17. I got Dinzag's FCG for my 7.62 conversion and it's real nice, it's a Tapco G2 FCG that for the Saiga has the width of the hammer reduced to clear the BHO and it's polished up nice. He's got it available for unconverted ($59) as well as converted ($49). It's a night and day difference that I'm glad I was able to experience because I shot the gun before converting and right after. http://dinzagarms.com/misc_parts/fcg.html
  18. My first time out with my 7.62 I put about 100 rounds through it, when I got home and went to clean it all up I found the fore end screw was pretty loose. I used some loctite on it after that. Could've easily lost it at the range I would imagine. My S12 was the same way with the fore end/sling mount screw. Loose when I first got it. Those Russkies probably don't check those so good in the quality control department. But picture 2 & 3 look like you've got the screw in there and picture 1 looks like it's missing. It's only the 1 screw that holds the fore end on, unscrew that and take
  19. Jeez I'll stick with my $5 GI 2 quart canteen case (as found out about on a previous thread here). That is a nice looking case though for those in need of a hard case.
  20. I like the Izhmash picatinny fore end because all I like on my 12 is a light and maybe a laser. That streamlight TLR-2 is what I plan on putting on it. And of course definitely a good sling. And the shark break is a bonus too.
  21. And then how's it work for us current Saiga 12 owners? Not allowed to shoot it anymore? Can't even own it? Forced to sell it to a criminal for profit?
  22. LRBHO: last round bolt hold open
