+1. I've seen them like that as well, while airborne. The can look very different in flight than when viewed from the ground. The video was shot from a helicopter, right?

But on topic, I wonder how much air traffic there is in that airspace at that time? I would be willing to bet a lot, so there should be more contrails than that. Or it should be a repeatable phenomenon that could be monitored. I know that the normal air traffic around me follows familiar patterns. It's easy enough check flight plans and weather conditions for the feds.

Ok if the US government says "its likely it was just an aircraft" wtf is the definition of likely?...they didnt say it was and they could prove it, they say they don't know but it was likely an aircraft...below certain altitudes in California a trail would not be visible...the smell of bs is overwhelming...

After the cold launch to get it off the launcher/aircraft, etc, that sucker goes supersonic, all you see/hear is the boom and an instant contrail. You don't even see the missle. This video shows something flying along. We saw an aircraft contrail yesterday and joked it was a mysterious missle. Believe what you want to believe.

I guess you've never seen an ICBM /SLBM launch from a sub then, huh?
