Do that AND LET PEOPLE (IN THERE) TALK POLITICS if they want to "in there". Also ADD A MODERATOR to the staff just to watch that forum...someone who isn't predisposed to hating political talk or only thinks gun talk belongs on a gun forum. Someone might actually enjoy that do a good job at it, and save the rest of the staff from having to worry about it. People who like guns AND politics have a right to talk about both, and how the subjects do have to do with each other, no matter who doesn't like it. They should use the appropriate forum though. Cop bashing / Military bashing has NO PLACE on a forum where there is such a large presence of LEOs and Military....PERIOD. That's not politics....it's childish hate talk and whining. STFU already. Fight club....another PW protected forum that actually IS a waste of space, the way it's currently used...as a dumping ground for out of control threads that should just be placed in the section they belong...the TRASH CAN. Instead it's gone from a place where some threads, that hadn't yet reached the point of total uselessness, and still had a slight chance of being reigned back in, to place for a few cliquish pricks to take the gloves off and get away with saying anything they want, to anyone they want, and even START threads just to stir shit with people. What use does THAT SHIT have on a good forum? The type of folks who actually enjoy that childish shit are the same ones causing problems all over the forums in other areas. It's ridiculous to allow all that hate talk in one section and actually think it's all going to stay in there. Way more people...GOOD PEOPLE, have either left, stopped posting, or not even wanted to take part in this forum, strictly because of that childish clique bullshit that has become the norm here. There is so much trolling that goes on regularly (In most all forums), and is allowed to continue, that most people with any sense would rather just stay away all together. Want to make the forum more attractive to more people? Enforce the rule that says NO TROLLING. Political talk and so called "debates", don't run near as many people off as the trolling and childish attacks that go unchecked. Any forum where personal attacks are allowed, promotes an atmosphere where many people just don't want to waste their time sifting through it all. yeah what Im saying too. I think we should be able to do that. Mil and Leo ehh not so much. Sure there will be hating on the Leo and Mil but haters gonna hate and thats why we have mods. There are too many threads generated in the "General Discussion" that belong in a firearm specific section or whatnot. Lots of "Look what I did with my S-12/Bullpup/Muzzle-loader" that needs to be posted in the appropriate place. Something that is important enough, and that people are scared of, needs to be talked about. I got my account "inactivated" on a forum once after asking FOR a section for politics, as it was the logical conclusion. Oh, well, the site wasn't that useful. However, there's taste to be had, and sections to put politics in, and sections to not put it in. Personally, I think all pro-gun stuff should be in general, because this is a gun board. I linked recently a damn fine article on how to beat anti-gun arguments and I'm glad it stayed in general, because people liked it. However, it stayed civil and that was good. I'm all for criticism of those that screw up, but I'm not for condemnation of a whole field of people because of the actions of a few. I can't recall seeing any Nazi or Socialist promoting shit here, but I have seen my share of Birther (secret Muslim, Manchurian Candidate theories, etc), as well as anti-government agencies stuff. Also, there seems to be some kind of a North vs South flame war going on, but I could be wrong here. I don't really follow this crap too closely. IMO, arguing politics on the Internet is unproductive and unhealthy. It's like a bunch of homeless street preachers yelling at each other on a street corner. I love guns, but I also love a bunch of other stuff too, and this site is a one-stop shop. The problems arise when heated stuff boils over into the wrong sections.
