David Mark 2,452
Anybody seen this yet. I'm not a big jeep guy but I know there are some here. What do you think of the new design?
Jpanzer 1,265
I'm on my third Jeep Cherokee or Grand Cherokee. I love them, That new design is a huge departure for them. Personally I kinda like it...
macbeau 902
I have owned 5 Jeeps over the years... My 09 Wrangler Unlimited has been the best by FAR. I can't see how the "new" Cherokee wil be better - on or off road. Macbeau sends....

devildogdakota 804
"Blaaaaaack"! It was bad enough they molested the old body style pickup trucks,(except when Dodge changed, but only until the last few years). I remember when the Wranglers changed around 7? yrs. ago.(have a '94 myself) The four door ones gave me cataracts. I guess I'm an old school traditionalist--- For some things anyways. Here's a newer Jeep I'd love to have...
Maxwelhse 1,285
That is a gaywad mobile that looks like something Kia would produce. If it's not a CJ/MJ/Wrangler, it's not a Jeep without serious work.... The XJs are very close... edit: Damn right Patriot! If I wanted 4 doors I'd go get your Mom's Escort... Jeeps died to me after the TJ... I may be biased since I'm a TJ owner. Edited March 27, 2013 by Maxwelhse

liberty -r- death 1,445
I have owned Wrangler's and a Liberty. I like the look. Jeep has not really changed the look much over the years. Hope it is still a real Jeep under that sexy skin.
macbeau 902
I have ownerd a CJ, Mj, TJ and M151 in addition to my current JK unlimited. The JK is the best by far... Just my opinion and experience and analysis... I can go places with my (stock) JK that I only go with a modified CJ, TJ or MJ. If it doesn't have solid axles or lockers, it's just an "also ran"... I'd rather have the old IL6 (4.0) Or, the newer Pentastar... But,, the 3,8l IS ADEQUATE!

avnate 335
5 Jeeps here, last was a JK with the 3.8. Until they put a decent diesel in the wrangler I won't buy another new. However.... shoehorn a 4BT in a JK.... I'm all over it. Torque monster with 35s, 4.88 gears ( or 5.12 with 38s) with upgraded axles will make me HAPPY HAPPY HAPPY! With all due respect, I'll accept your challenge if you're talking about a 4 door JK. My only mod being 31 x 10.50 BFG Mud Terrain KM2 tires... '99 TJ Sahara, 83k miles, 4.0, 5 speed... devildogdakota 804
What the fonghoul is that? Sorry I am old school, aka Rat patrol Until about two years ago, a vendor at the gunshows had two of these beauties on display outside of the fairgrounds buildings, complete with all the armament and machinegun mounted tow behind trailers. Both set ups were absolutely mint and were for sale (which is probably why I haven't seen them there anymore).

termite 463
It's a yuppy mobile, I'll keep my 1974 CJ with the 304 in it. Only bad thing about it is, it likes to break the tires loose going up hills.

I cannot agree more with your comments! A 4BT in ANY Jeep would be is an awesome swap... ...however... I still have a bloodlust for a 5.7 Hemi in my TJ... Horsepower or torque? Tough call. Then again, a V10 seems like a good solution! Bet he didn't break 2500 rpm!

Arik 565
I like the looks. Having said that I'm tired of all the futuristic spaceship looking cars. They all start to look the same! I want to replace my car and I've been looking at old cars. 92 or older 4cyl Camrys, Accords, Civics, Corollas. I want reliable and fuel efficient. Too bad most of these cars are beat, rusted or parts and those that are in good condition are still expensive. I don't know about the Jeep letters. Don't care if its a CK, CJ, BJ, MC....whatever....I like the Cherokee sports. The plane, square, 2/4 door straight 6 Cherokee I just can't bring myself to spend that much gas at today's prices
MT Predator 2,294
I'm not saying I would trade my Wrangler for one but it is what it is, a grocery getter with 4wd. You can definitely see the Daimler-Benz influence. As far as Jeeps go, my first was a CJ5 with a 304 and 33s. Next one was a CJ7 with a transplant 350, suspension, and 36s. Then a YJ with extensive mods to include stretching the wheelbase, adding fullsize 14 bolt Military axles, 42s, another Chevy smallblock, etc. Next was a TJ with long arm suspension, 35s and other mods. Now I have a JKU on 35s with pleny of modifications. Out of all of them, the YJ was by far the most capable offroad but it got like 4 mpg. I still prefer my 4 door pussy Jeep as you guys like to call them. It has more room for guns-n-gear and goes through just about anything I point it at. If not, that's what a winch is for right? I can give a heavily modded TJ a run for its money BTW and I had to pull my neighbor's mildly modded TJ on 33s out almost weekly until he finally installed a winch. He still cannot go through what I can so I know one with 31s would really get hung up. FWIW, you don't have to lift a JK as much to stuff larger rubber under them. CJs, YJs, and TJs require quite a bit of lift to fit comparable sized rubber. Edited March 28, 2013 by MT Predator

What I said was that I don't respect them as "real" Jeeps. Talking about hauling gear... I'll put my extended cab S10 against the best out there in the "compact" vehicle spectrum! Seriously though, got get another YJ and go nuts!!! They're a dime a dozen these days!

MT Predator 2,294
I drive my JKU a grand total of 20 miles to work and back each day so 14 mpg on 35s isn't killing me. When I had my YJ and TJ, work was 30 miles away. I had a racing cell in the YJ so I had to fill it up just to get back home when I drove it to work! The TJ wasn't too bad but it still added up in a week.
