I own several Glocks and I own a variety of other pistols including XDMs and XDSs

They all seem to work the same for me, including my Canik TP-9s that I cost $300

I will probably buy the 43 and if they release a SS 45 I'll get that too

To everyone that is saying a Glock needs a grip safety, it is obvious that you do not understand how the striker works in a Glock.

When you rack the gun it is only back about 20%, pulling the trigger is the only way to pull the striker back far enough to discharge the gun.

There is no need for any additional safeties

Now, for a little Glock Porn, here's my full custom 10mm long slide that I can accurately shoot a man sized target at 100 yards

Does anyone else have a pistol that can shoot a 135gr bullet at almost 1700fps?

XDs dont blow up in your face when you shoot lead bullets.

more glocks blow up than any other hand gun

XDs have the correct grip angle, a better trigger. and are not proclaimed perfect

the (Glock Perfection) thing offends me, its quite arrogant,  and not even close to being true.

Lots of glocks have passed through my hands , I dont keep any.

they are an ok gun....require little or no training to manipulate, and have become the cookie cutter solution to many LE departments.

when it comes to tupperware guns I would choose an XD or an M&P over the glock.

All the officers I know who compete and maintain a high level of mastery of arms....carry 1911s of one sort or another.

the others carry issued glocks, and only shoot at quals once a year

Glocks are good at everything and excell at nothing.

I have the 42 and will get the 43 so long as it is made in the USA. I have a bunch of Austrian Glocks that are getting replaced with the American made models. No difference in them at all except they produced American jobs.

Go ahead and shoot lead bullets out of any polygonal barrel without maintaining it. Eventually, they will all go boom.

Afterall, this is a mouse gun. It will serve it's purpose well.

I like Glocks and have had a pile of them and still have some now, but I wouldn’t get one as a single stack to me that defeats about 75% of the reason for getting a Glock. So for me this new one is a non starter from the get go.

With Glocks it’s often said there are 3 things wrong:

1st the trigger

2nd the sights

3rd the trigger

and now the part about shoot lead they blow up.

Depending on what you want to do with the gun the trigger can be improved with a couple of cheap and easy to do changes, connector and striker spring usually take care of most of the problem but more can be done, or less changing the striker spring may result it soft primer hits so should be left alone for a carry gun.

Plenty of aftermarket sights and even alternate Glock sights to replace the plastic ones that can get fuzzy, I have steel Glock made sights on my 19, they work fine.

I’ve pushed a bunch of lead down Glock barrels and know several match shooters have pushed more than I ever will. I bought an aftermarket barrel for my G24 to shoot 9mm with and if I was worried about it in the past would have bought barrels for the others too. Not saying it can’t happen, for me it hasn’t yet but I tend to use hard cast bullets under 1,000 fps.

I shot revolvers in the 70s, switched to 1911s in the 80s, and then went to Glocks for shooting matches now I’m going back to revolvers for not shooting matches any more because the brass is easier to find. The only Glock thing I still have in mind is doing the cut on the frame of the 19 down to the 26 size for making it a better carry gun. Photos show 19 and 26 then 19 with frame cut.

4th doc. go lay your glock down next to the .380 and you will see why it's a single stack! it's not for everybody but it's one hell of a mouse gun for backup. it shoots really well and has a very nice profile. no harsh angles and as skinny as a supermodel!

Really want a Glock 34 or 35. If we ever go to a carry what you want policy, I think I would go with the 35 and get an aftermarket 9mm barrel.

While I do love Glocks, that last statement is very very true. Don't get my wrong, the most enjoyable and accurate gun I own is a Springfield Loaded 1911. But the 2nd most enjoyable and accurate gun for me that I own is a G19.

Stay with it, as with most polymer guns, you cannot limp wrist or it will jam.  When I started shooting plastic guns I could not hit the side of a barn from inside the barn.  All of a sudden (after a lot more than a few rounds) I found myself removing the center of targets. I now feel that the Glock is the best carry and SHTF handgun bar none.  I once thought Glocks were junk. For recreational range use, it is CZ for me. A CZ 75B SA is as good as it gets.  I now limit my purchases to CZ and Glock only.

I like my 17's gen 3 but everyone in my household can use them pretty well . I also have a 42 when I go places I don't want it to be noticed . I only use Hornadys in mine and they have always went bang when I wanted them to. I also have a Sig P -938 sas mini 1911 . I have mostly Glocks but I think its more important to have guns everyone in the household can use well. My edc is a G26 . My nephew has a Sig full size 1911 and his fiancé cant handle it, if you are the only user get what you like with multiple people using stay simple so everyone can use and be familiar with it in an emergency. A lot of women cant rack the slides on certain guns such as a kimber solo .I HAD A Ruger LCP380 and I hated that thing trigger pull for 12 miles and a week to get there , I traded it and 100 bucks for my 42 and its accurate as hell .

I can't help but laugh when people claim one gun has a correct grip angle. That will vary greatly in the shooter.

Polygonal rifling and cast bullets are notorious to cause kbs when neglected. Combine that with reloading errors and you have a recipe for disaster. You're better off swapping the barrel if you're going to shoot full lead bullets.

I laugh at the perfection slogan as well. Shitty plastic iron sights are far from perfect.

Like I said, I love my glocks, but I also love my Shield, HKs and XD. And again, I don't think one out performs the other.

If Glock is perfection, then why are there so many aftermarket upgrade parts for them?

 beaten.gifbad_smile.gif

No, not a fan of Glock.  Specifically the silly grip angle.  JMB perfected the pistol grip angle.

Yeah, that's why most 1911 parts catalogs offer arched MSH's for sale in them.

GUYS,

SERIOUSLY, IF YOU DON'T LIKE THE STOCK GLOCK GRIP ANGLE, TRY THE LONE WOLF TIMBERWOLF FRAME.

NOT ONLY DOES IT FEEL LIKE A CROSS BETWEEN A SIG AND A HI-POWER, IT HAS A NOTICABLY SHORTER TRIGGER REACH, MAKING IT EVEN MORE GRIP FRIENDLY FOR THOSE WITH SMALLER HANDS, PARTICULARLY THE LADIES.

WHAT I USUALLY DO, IS BUY A USED GLOCK FOR $300-360, EITHER A GEN II OR III, AND THEN PUT ALL THE UPGRADE PARTS ON IT.

SO, I END UP WITH A GLOCK WITH ALL THE ADD-ON'S I WANT, FOR THE PRICE, SOMETIMES EVEN SLIGHTLY LESS, THAN A NEW ONE.

THE CONDITION OF THE FINISH, WITHIN REASON, IS IMMATERIAL, AS THE TENIFER FINISH "SOAKS" INTO THE STEEL, AND EVEN IF WORN DOWN TO THE WHITE METAL ON THE CORNERS AND EDGES, IT STILL PROTECTS THE METAL FROM RUST.

Actually that was a feature of the original M1911A1, so, JMB thought it was a nice angle too.

Though, I've always thought the whole grip angle debate was goofy, they both feel fine to me.

to hell with the topic, if you don't like Glocks don't buy one

that said now this is important,

Gaddis you know good and damn well anyone who hops on that scooter with that girl is going on a one way trip, yeah you didn't have to walk

but you can never go back. hopping on that scooter was the same as getting in the boat with the boatman at the river Styx, in the eyes of the world you're a dead man.

Arched mainspring housings dont change grip angle, they fill a void at the rear of your palm if you have large hands.

Its all about training and experience, I have been shooting 1911s for over 40 years, I am quite accustomed to the grip angle.

I can shoot anything, but in an extreme stress situation I would revert to what my sub conscious expects the gun to be.

If a glock were in my hands at the time....I would be hitting the squirrels in the tree tops insted of my intended target.

shoot a Luger sometime, the angle is much more extreme than a glock

You're a prime candidate for a GP K100! The Cz75 is rock solid.
