  1. Hands down TAC47 in Houston, Keith does some awesome work and pays attention to details.
  2. Guns shows in Houston have slowed down in recent months. Could be because there is about 2-3 shows a month in the local area. Seems like most gun & ammo prices have dropped recently, and the dealers will deal.
  3. I was meeting Keith from TAC47, and another one of his customers was there to replace his stock SGL trigger. Keith dropped it in less then 2 minutes, talking as he did so. His customer was amazed at how much better the Tapco FCG felt over the SGL trigger. Keith said that one thing that Tapco got balls on was with their AK FCG. Did "the customer" actually pay to have a professional perform an extremely simple, tool-less operation like swapping AK trigger groups? Nah. Keith is a good guy and just charged him for the trigger. The guy was driving a nicely decked out Merce

  5. It does. The Saiga specific T6 setup is really only good for getting 922 compliance quick and easy. Stick it on, slap in a US made 30 round mag, and you should be 922 compliant. I used a t6 Saiga setup early on, and then decided to do it right. I have restored 6 or 7 since, and each one turns better then the last. Since you are in California and have a 10 round mag limit, wait and do the restoration right. The stock Saiga trigger is meant to be used with a Monte Carlo style stock, as the stock trigger pull is more upward. Tapco, & Texas AK triggers are design to be pulled di
  6. Yes, it's compliant, but only as long as you use the Surefires (or other US made magazines). Once you add the pistol grip 922r applies (so using the factory magazine would no longer comply without chaning more 922r parts). The Saiga is imported with 14 922r foreign parts. 14 - 1 (for Tapco butt stock) - 0 (Tapco pistol grip*) - 3 (US made magazine) =10 (922r compliant) * - The Tapco Intrafuse only counts as - 1 towards compliance since you're only removing one 922r foreign part. It's not how many US parts you add, it's how many (922r) foreign parts you remove. The Saiga is importe
  7. True. And best of all, a dealer near home sells them for $30. and a seller at Houston gun shows sells them to me for $20. No bullet guides needed in my ,223's
  8. I'm having the same problem but I have a bullet guide and am using orlite galil mags. The projectile gets pushed back into the shell when it fails to feed. What could be the issue? Someone else has had similar mag problems. http://forum.saiga-1...showtopic=58503
  9. The Saiga specific UTG 7.62 quad rail will fit the .223 Saiga. No parts swap needed.
  10. I have completed a few restorations using a cheap Black & Decker electric drill. No problems at all,
  11. No no! That's my Taurus Tracker Model 455 in .45 ACP. Got it used back in '03 and it's been my favorite revolver ever since. Taurus has a lifetime warranty on the gun. For the price of shipping and a months wait, they should fix it for you free.
  12. Since Saigas come without a PG and 14 countable parts,, adding a pistol grip will bring the count to 15. Ten or less parts is the magic number.
  13. .If it is the stock hand guard, one screw at the aft end of the hand guard. The foward end screw only holds the sling mount.
  14. Looking good Greg. when are we going to the range?
  15. Check the for sale section. http://forum.saiga-12.com/index.php?showtopic=54965
  16. You have a great dealer right up the road in Austin. This guy has great prices and does the weekend gun show circuit in Texas. I just place a call, and when he is in Houston he brings me what I need. PM me if you need his name. I grew up right down the road from the Powderhorn and have never been inside it.
  17. Keith at Tac 47 has threaded some barrels for me at great prices. I don't think that I could do it for the same price and get the quality work that TAC 47 does.
  18. The trigger pull is only bad DA. SA, the P6 trigger is not bad at all.
