These 54r ak's really look like fun, and have caught my eye as well. But I have a feeling Jim's theory is probably correct. I have a s308 and @100 yards I can toss a dozen brown bears soft points in a torso in seconds and its still not to hot to handle. From the slow-mo vid of a PSL firing, that spaghetti string barrel looked overworked and just to sloppy, I doubt the 308 flexes as bad.

IIRC Sopmod was talking about the port size on his 308 because it wasn't tossing spent brass as far away as it did prior to cutting down to 18 inch. Might be able to find that thread somewhere...

I like the chopped version too and I might do one of those as well if I can get the paper work straight. BTW: I dodn't even know who the frack prisionshank is??? No paperwork involved in that specific version I posted pics of in the other thread. (Assuming by "paperwork", you mean NFA paperwork) The barrel wasn't touched (20"), and the guy who owned it said it was as at 27.75". So it still met the federal OAL requirements, and wasn't an NFA weapon. Of course, it would probably be a lot handier if it had chopped barrels to go along with the chopped stock, but then we're talkin

I agree with making a tri-rail to fit saiga rifles... dunno bout the quad though...perhaps just make it compatible with ultimak set-ups.
