  1. If the vendor prints the label himself using the USPS downloadable software, he can add the postage and he even gets free delivery confirmation. I believe he can also add insurance. I rarely use USPS insurance though. I usually "self-insure".... charge an insurance fee to the customer, and then keep it to cover any loses. You have to make good on loses if you do that though. I do it that way all the time for my E-bay stuff.
  2. Jeez.... sorry I didn't comb through all the sub forums to see if this has been mentioned yet. Thanks for being so vigilant in your efforts to slam people for everything they post about.
  3. I love the concept and I love how he pushes back against the CNN anti-gun lib crap! I generally don't like car salesmen, but this guy ROCKS! Makes me want to go buy a truck! http://www.cnn.com/video/#/video/us/2009/0....truck.ak47.cnn
  4. Not good to have these a-holes kicking sand in our face, and in MY back yard! I hope the feds will be there watching and taking plate numbers.
  5. Sorry to hear that. Lots of us in the same boat. I'm an IT guy that had a great job but was outsourced years ago. I've been working part-time for the last 5 years, but now my hours are really falling, all of our customers are cutting back on IT spending. I'm considering many things at this point.... HVAC, truck driving, etc. You're reminding me that I need to quit goofing off and get back to the job hunt. That and posting more household junk on E-bay. Good luck!
  6. There's also the option of having multiple monitors instead of one larger one. You can have your print piece open on one monitor and use the other for programs/tools. You can drag open windows between the monitors as you wish. I've even seen some 4 monitor setups using two dual monitor cards. That seems like overkill in most cases though. EDIT: Oops.... saw where the multiple 24's was considered. That's what I would try to go with though, even if it means moving the system to make room for the dual monitors.
  7. Make love, not war...... I like the way the question is phrased though.... we still get them both. We may need one or the other or both on any given day.
  8. There doesn't appear to be any problem for Jersey dealers getting guns from out of state dealers. Prices will go way up in Jersey, but there should still be plenty availability. Still a dumb law.......
  9. There shouldn't be any positioning problem of the grip with the Tromix DIY guard. A little touch up with a Dremel on the grip would fix that.
  10. I can't say I'm surprised either. You might want to make a call to McDonald's corporate and tell them that they should instruct their store managers to clear out the customers if they feel there is a need to evacuate the restaurant. The suggestion would probably mean a lot coming from somebody in your line of work. This story triggered my memory of this event for some reason:
  11. My guess is that the bore has tool marks in it and the gas blows by the piston and deposits that pattern due to the tool marks. Make sure you clean the plastic and carbon out of the gas holes. That may be why you're getting the FTE's now. I use a simple paper clip to clean them out. The KA tappet is a good part. It's a few thousandths larger than the stock part I believe. You'll have less blow-by with it.
  12. I've thought about getting a Rock Island 1911. I think I'd like the Colt Commander Size better than the full size 1911. My only complaint is the relatively low capacity of the 1911's, but other than that I like them.
  13. Ok, here's a success story about JB Weld....... I bought an AK with a welded on slant brake (the price was good). First trip to the range, the brake blew off somewhere down range. It was within the first three mags, I didn't see it happen. I sure wondered at first why the POI changed though. I tried one of those set screw type thread adapters but the set screws kept loosening. I knew that would happen too, stupid idea there. Not wanting to ruin my good deal and have a gunsmith fix the barrel, I decided to try the JB Weld. I ground off the broken weld, cleaned up and
  14. >> I'm in Ohio, ........ I screw with them as much as I can. Uh oh...... I think you just proved the OP's point!
  15. Ooh, an intellectual. I was thinking..... "autistic self-advocate". "fucktard" rolls off the tongue a little easier though.......
  16. The problem is there is no common courtesy anymore. Many people just don't care about other people on the road. I think it's the way kids are being raised. Spoiled punk kids become spoiled punk adults. Some of my other favorite tricks of idiot drivers: Driver has to cut in front of you, but you look in the rearview mirror and there is nobody behind you for miles. Moron just had to be in front of you. Staying in the far left lane until the last possible second before crossing all lanes to get to the exit. Stopping in the middle of the street to chat, sleep, whatever.
  17. I have 4 Surefire 12's and an MD drum (and the stock 5). No problems with any of them yet. I do have some concern about durability of the 12's. In hindsight, it may make more sense to just go with more drums instead of all of the 12's. It's only money. I'll pick up some 10's and 5's one of these days too. No such thing as too many mags.
  18. You'll need to read up on the S12 and then ask some specific questions. Nobody is going to be able to tell you everything you need to know in a single post. The search function works fine. You type in key words of things you want to know about and then click the search button. Welcome to the forum.
  19. Along with what others have said about the finish not being too critical, I'll add that you want to unscrew the gas plug and take a look at the gas ports. No telling how long it's been sitting on the shelf and whether it may be a Vodka Special or not. Just look it over carefully and make sure it looks good mechanically.
  20. Yep, that's about all I had handy too was an emery board. I thought it would be fine based on how little material Mike said would need to be removed. Got pissed and gave up on the emery board after about 30 minutes of very slow progress. Grabbed the Black & Decker mini grinder (just like the Dremel) and used slow, light pressure passes..... had it done in about 10 minutes.
  21. I have some on order for the Tapco AK stock. Check back with me in a week or so. Greg Any news on this yet?
