  1. I've been shooting some 147gr. Radway Green,British surplus ammo at wild pigs with great success. Most shot at about 100 yards away and it is a killer. Wish I could set it up for a sound suppressor. Them pigs are more skiddish than any animal I've hunted in the last year. I love that rifle.
  2. I bought 2 of them last year and would recommend them. I also have 1 ProMag 20 rounder. Have not had any problems with any of them.
  3. I killed some pigs down in Fla. a few weeks back with my S-308. That mother has taken down everything I've shot with it,pigs, deer and a wild ass dog up in the Blueridge mountains. I have a rail on top i got from Carolina Shooters and mounted a Vortex red dot on it. The red dot has a 2X adapter with it and that's what I have on it most of the time. Money well spent.
  4. Mine is the same. I converted mine back to the AK style and added a Beryl scope mount from Carolina Shooters Supply. Put a Barsaka 2X scope on it and it is very accurate,2 moa with Radway Green surplus ammo. That is good enough for any situation I should encounter.Have fun it's a great rifle.Oh BTW,I also put a Mako shock absorbing adjustable stock on it and it makes a lot of difference in the recoil-would highly reccommend it.
  5. I just converted my S308 and I love shooting that weapon. I used the Dinzag FCG made for the 308. I suggest you get his 3/16 inch drill bits for those spot welds. I had a cobalt one from Lowes and it was a pain going through the weld. I switched to one from Dinzag and it took half the effort. I have olive drab furniture on it and really like the way it looks. I always have someone coming over to check it out when at the range. I never really tried to see what MOA it can shoot but at 100 yards it can kill any man sized target easily. Or in my case wild pigs at that distance.
  6. Have one in my 308 and had no problems. Probably have close to 400 rounds through it. That spring and the Dinzag FCG makes for a very crisp trigger pull/break.
  7. My S308 came from them. Was here at my FFL in 2 days. I have also bought a lot of ammo from them and had no problems. When did the new owners take over ?
  8. I just got back from the range a few minutes ago with my 308. I agree it is very reliable and runs like a well oiled machine. I have an AR15 but like shooting my 308 more. I converted mine and added the Mako recoil absorbing adjustable stock which works as advertised, you barely feel any recoil.
  9. I had a friend who just paid $479.99 for a 16. He couldn't find any other length. Maybe the 16 is more popular,so they bring in more of them.
  10. I went with a Mako adjustable stock that fit perfectly. I'm unsure about the one you are asking about. I'm sure someone will answer your question.
  11. I put a Mako adjustable stock on mt 308. Went on with no problems. Have a Tapco handguard on it also. Both in O.D. color.
  12. Good to hear all went well. That BHO can give you fits.
  13. I'm looking for same. Can't find one anywhere.
  14. I'm just getting into reloading and would like to hear the same. My .308 shoots the 147gr. bullets, military surplus pretty well. I've shot some 168's and they were not as accurate or I was not as accurate shooting them.
  15. The Dinzag comes with a washer to take up the trigger slack. Pretty simple fix.
  16. On my 308 I ground them down. Then drilled them out with a 1/8 cobalt bit. The 308 has 3 weld spots and they were tough. I was lucky as I have an 8 inch drill press, but I had to really lean on the handle to get through them. Forgot to add that after drilling the rivets I punched out what was left of them. Total time to remove the plate was about 1 1/2 hours.
  17. Took my new Promag and new CSSpecs mags to the range. The Promag had 1 fail to feed out of 100 rounds total. It did show signs of stripping some of the plastic on the follower, but I cleaned it up and it kept running with no other issues. The one from CSSpecs ran with zero problems and I put 75 rounds through it.I would buy another Promag only because it is lighter, but if I was going to war I'd take the CSSpecs hands down. With the CSSpecs if you run out of ammo you can still beat your opponent about the head with it and load it up and shoot some more. Think I'll buy a couple more CSSpecs u
  18. If you decide not to reinstall the bolt hold open plate is there anything special you need to do ? Like placing a washer or something on the hammer or trigger pins to keep it working properly. I've searched it on this board and could not find an answer.
  19. The one from Dinzag works great. He does good work.
  20. That looks like the Barsaka one I was speaking of. How much is it ? I think I saw it somewhere on line for $99.00
  21. I just received my FCG for my 308. The work he put into that was extraordinary. He obviously has more patience and knowledge than I. Would reccomend him to anyone that has a 308.
  22. I'm getting 1 this weekend. Will post how it runs by monday if plans go well.
  23. I'm a little late to this show, but that is the type of service that will keep me coming back. It's nice to spend money with people that appreciate their customers.
  24. I also had a great buying experience. They are quick to respond to questions. I plan on buying something else this week.
  25. Does it being lower make it easier to get the correct eye relief ? It's got to help your neck, not having to stretch to see through it.
