  1. The only reason republicans pretend to give two shits about your 2a rights is because they want your vote.
  2. From the pictures they have up, that one appears to be legit as far as I can tell. However the price is too good to be true at this time and I'm willing to bet that if they DID have real ones at that price, they no longer have them...
  3. I have seen wooden stocks like the factory Saiga ones, but don't know who makes them.
  4. Just get one of the retainer plates for an AK, or if you really want to, a retainer wire for an AK. This has the added benefit of being removable without screwing around with any pins. I suggest the plate.
  5. I too agree with him that a conversion would probably eliminate this problem. Not to mention the trigger will feel much better when it does work properly.
  6. I wouldn't try it just for the unknowns. How well would it hold up after the gas block gets hot enough to burn you? How well would it hold up to any possible flexing of the cover?
  7. Okay, so the disconnector is catching the hammer, but when you let off the trigger it SHOULD release the hammer to be caught by the hook on the front of the trigger mechanism. Something is definitely wrong in this regard. I would take out the hammer and disconnector and see what the mating surface between the two looks like. The disconnector should definitely NOT be holding the hammer once you let the trigger go. Perhaps you have some debris underneath one of the "legs" on the back of the trigger mechanism where the hammer spring pushes it down? Best bet for now would be to remove them, ch
  8. The firing pin won't matter, it's a free-floating design. When there's a round in it, it will be in place. Try this, with the topcover off, hold the trigger down and work the action. Does the hammer stay back or does it come back up? It should be staying back. If it is not, I would say it is probably a problem with the disconnector or disconnector spring. The disconnector is the part in the middle of this picture, yours won't look exactly like it but close enough to identify. It is the part that is supposed to catch the hammer when the trigger is back. Releasing the trigger will then
  9. Can you take a picture of the inside of your receiver? It sounds like something is incorrectly installed. The hammer is not resetting, so I would look first at the disconnector and disconnector spring. Just a wild guess, I think the hammer is not being caught by the disconnector when it flies back at full speed from firing. This will cause the hammer to follow the bolt carrier back up.
  10. The metric system is far superior to the way it's done here. This is obvious in the fact that measurements on micrometers and calipers come out to thousandths of an inch. They don't give you some fraction, they give you a nice decimal. essentially, a milli-inch. In my ideal world, we would use the metric system's series of tens (milli, deci, centi, base unit, deca, hecto, kilo) but with units that I already know. The only awkward part being that you would then end up with a whole bunch of base units as well. Where in the metric system they have liters for volume and that's it, we would have th
  11. Yes, we know that. I never said it did. The WASR does not have a US made barrel.
  12. It was not limited to the Tantals, but it plagued them more than any other rifle it seems. The problem was that they got the barrels from a US provider, just like when Lancaster got their 5.45 barrels from a US manufacturer. Except Lancaster rifles were actually dangerous and they dicked around on the repairs, Century just decided the issue wasn't important enough to fix. Long story short: Don't get US made barrels on your AK.
  13. I have seen these at gun shows and always thought about picking one up. The same guy always has them, and he's the only one I have ever seen with them. His prices are under 400 but I don't remember exactly where. I'm thinking above 3 and under 4, but don't quote that. I know they were cheaper than his Semi's.
  14. Question about the "used black Arsenal Warsaw" stock. Would you be open to sell that separately? I'm looking for just a stock. Thanks.
  15. 922r is ridiculous. Basically it states that the rifle must contain less than 10 foreign parts in order for it to remain legal. I think it has something to do with supporting US businesses and the economy or something Essentially it's about hassling law abiding citizens and not much more. 922r comes into play when you lose the "sporting" purpose of the rifle. A 30 round magazine causes it to lose this purpose no matter where the magazine is made, so, with 30 round magazines, you need to make sure you abide by 922r. If it's 10 rounds or less, you are fine no matter where the part
  16. I would say write a letter to the ATF and wait. Until they tell you that the AFG is specifically okay to use on a pistol, don't do it.

Yeah, the reason the price is so high is because there's like less than 10 of the original Soviet ones in the US.

The quad stack is just that, a magazine with four rounds across it instead of the standard two (double stack) magazines. They hold 60 rounds. The last one I saw for sale was on gunbroker. The bidding went up to NINE HUNDRED DOLLARS, and didn't meet the reserve. They look like this:
  19. I want one. Never fired one, but they're just cool and I have a soft spot for CZ anything. I know they can be converted to 7.62x39, but don't know how difficult that would be to do.
  20. You could buy a G2 trigger and use the hammer and disconnector from it while keeping the factory trigger. That leaves two needed parts. Since I cannot under any circumstances recommend using a US made magazine for the AK, I would say you have two options. You could either swap the gas piston, and use US made followers or floorplates on your high capacity magazines, or you could leave the piston and use US made followers AND floorplates in your magazines. So, to recap, should replace four of these five parts with US parts: Hammer Disconnector Followers Floorplates Gas Piston
  21. Bore should be right at .214 from what I have always heard. I use 5.56 brushes though. They go through easy enough, and work great so far.
  22. I have a buddy with a freankenbuilt AR-15, Bushmaster upper 20" Hbar on a Superior Arms lower that eats lacquered cases just as well as my WASR or Saiga ever has. I guess some people do have trouble getting cheap imported ammo to reliably feed in their AR, but I guarantee most people have never even tried for fear. If a rifle won't eat ammo, it's usually a problem with the rifle, and not with the ammo whether it be imported, lacquered or anything else.
  23. If I was you I would buy a G2 trigger and use the disconnector and hammer from it. Then swap the piston with a US made piston. This would let you use cheap surplus magazines. I only suggest this because the only good thing I have heard about the Tapco magazines is the price. I have read and seen pictures, and even a video of them breaking because they are all plastic with no reinforcement. Or, if you didn't want to swap the piston, you could get US made followers or floorplates or both for the commie magazines.
