  1. Ohio is a pretty good place. I grew up on the north side of Cincinnati. As others mentioned, stay away from the big cities (though admittedly I don't know about Columbus). Cincinnati and Cleveland have some pretty ridiculous laws. But the suburbs of Cincinnati are fine. Although truth be told I would rather live in central KY. I even went to college in OH but my wife is from central KY and I really, really like it. Finally, the gun laws are better in OH than in IN but not as good as KY.
  2. I'm not sure how effective either would be because it is pretty tricky to load through the ejection port. Unlike a pump action, there is a lot more going on inside the receiver when you pull the bolt back. Unless the speed strippers were designed to quickly charge a magazine, I would just get an extra magazine.
  3. Centerfire Systems has it on sale for $170 a case. I bet if you called them in the morning they could tell you whether or not they could get it to you by Friday.
  4. I've had good success with Palmetto State Armory and since they're one state south, UPS ground should be pretty quick.
  5. I was just wondering if i would buy the standard and wanted to shoot slugs if it can handle them or i should just put my factory plug back in it? thanks Yup, it'll be fine with slugs. I've shot 3" magnum slugs, 2.75" slugs, buck and low brass all with the Twister standard.
  6. I bought the standard TwisterPuc for my S12. It works just fine with low brass.
  7. The manual bolt hold open is standard no matter where you buy it. Unless you live in or around Frankfort you could order your Saiga from one of the forum sponsors like Carolina Shooter's Supply. MD Arms drums are the gold standard for drums so you can't go wrong with them. They're even $75 now on sale from MDarms.com and that is a steal. You could get several. I can't speak for the V-plug but if you want a manually adjustable gas knob you can't go wrong for $20. I can't speak to your sight options but good luck getting everything together. You'll love your S12 once it comes.
  8. Those do look sweet and would love to buy one, especially if they were $250!
  9. I hope it all works out for you. That would be a great bargain getting them at $70 apiece. Out of curiosity, what is a CIS country?
  10. I ordered one a few months ago on pre-order because by then it was apparent that the doublestacks were not going to be available for several more months. I wanted to have at least one ultra reliable (no threat of springs shattering, front lips breaking off, followers that rock too much, etc.) magazine that wouldn't require me to run many rounds through each one to make sure it would run well. With that said, if I had the money, I would probably go ahead and buy another. In these uncertain times, I'll take what I can get now (or at least in the few week time span). However, I will buy
  11. Wow, I had no idea all of this had gone on! I will say that it is a testament to this forum that I started lurking here in the summer of 2009 and joined a few months ago and I had NO idea this stuff had gone on. We do see some conflict on here but if someone had asked about this previously, I wouldn't have had any idea!
  12. That is pretty sweet! Is tannerite something you can just buy or did you have to go through hoops to get it?
  13. It is a good thing you mentioned this. I'm also on the Beretta Forum and my Neos was delivered to BUSA this morning. I'm not in a position to use my Neos much but for others it does suck that they won't just send out the new firing pins.
  14. You better check your game laws before taking it in the field for doves. Most states have it in their laws no more than 3 shell capacity for game birds. Oh, yeah this is true as well. Here are three possible ways to deal with that: 1) Put an appropriately sized dowel rod in your 5-rounder to plug it up enough to only hold 2 rounds. 2) Buy a Surefire 2-rounder from CSS. I have one but fiddling with it with some snap caps and live rounds, I don't think it allows 2+1, only 1+1. 3) Buy a factory 2-rounder from SaigaStock. They're expensive but they're factory.
  15. I wouldn't. I believe that to get the rear sight out you need to dremel away parts of it. Thus it is a one way trip. You can get replacement rear sights but see how it works for you before removing it.
  16. That looks so nice. I also have one on order from Rus MIlitary. I hope that it comes soon as well!
  17. That would explain the trajectories then. I thought it was a mixed mag. But still pretty consistent given that the valve has to move every time you fire.
  18. Those are some very consistent hull trajectories as well.

TROMIX did mine and I couldnt be happier..... There is the good (damn nice job) and the bad (costs more) of sending it out....but I wouldnt do it any different on my first S12 That is some good advice. Tromix will make sure it works before sending it back to you so you don't need to be concerned about breaking it in before shipping it to them. Just to note that most other builders on this forum will also test fire to make sure things are running smoothly before shipping the gun back to you. The big concern is if you want to DIY because if you convert a problem gun, you've v
  20. I've been looking for a sling attachment for my Chaos Tri Rail. I have two kinds of slings that I want to try. One is the AK sling from SlingsOnly and the other is a VCAS. Truthfully, I was hoping to find something that is not too expensive which is why I was looking at the ones from Mako Group attached as images to this post. They're ~$12.50 each but was wondering if anyone here had a chance to try them or what you use to attach a sling to your railed forearm. Thanks.
  21. I know I can find them at SaigaStock but I was hoping that maybe someone would have one or two with which they would want to part. Depending on the asking price I could buy 1 or 2. Thanks!
  22. Busting clays with the S12 is second only to blowing up water jugs with it. Glad you had such a good time.
  23. ^#%!&@ now I don't know if I want to use the money I had set aside for doublestacks on another drum or wait. If only I had an unlimited budget!
  24. You mean they won't let you just put rounds in the magazine with the gun on a rack or resting up against the railing of the stand? I'm not sure just what they'll let you do. First of all, there's no rack, just a 2 x 4 wall about 3 feet high, and as far as resting it barrel upward against something, I'm just going on the general rule of "gun must always be pointed down range." I've thought about using my 3 5-rounders and 1 2-rounder (Surefire, not Russian, yet ) the next time I go shooting sporting clays with my Saiga. So, you've been before with your Saiga? How did you handle the
