  1. I can picture it...it is going to look like our stock front end with integral rails. I've already got my pre-order in. I will post reviews when I get it.
  2. So I was looking for a NIB rifle when I came across this on GilbertGuns. The description of the product answers a question that we have all been asking...when the heck is someone going to start making furniture that will work on MY rifle without having to cut, hack, press and dremel. Now, while I do plan on doing a wood-stock conversion in the near future, this would look great on my existing bad black 20incher. SO, finally we have a plug and play tacticoool tri-rail forearm that really won't break the bank.
  3. I just installed my bullet guide this weekend to the above specs but I am having trouble getting the rifle to function well. At first the bolt was hanging up on the guide, so I filed it down a bit. Then, the bolt was hanging up on the top of the flat, countersunk screw. I filed that down flush and the bolt proceeded to close and seat against the chamber properly. Now, the problem I am running into is the bullet guide is ripping up//denting the ammo cases as it goes to chamber...guess I need to "soften" up the front of the guide with a little beveled edge to get flawless function. 4. For American made wood there is only one place (to my knowledge) that makes it. Ironwood Designs in Cali. http://www.ironwooddesigns.com/2aprod/1zAKproduct.html Edit...there used to be a couple of guys on here that would custom make furniture for you. Here is the only one I could find designed and manufactured by BattleRifleG3 http://www.dinzagarms.com/furniture/brg3.html
  5. I love my Ace with a passion. Besides being comfortable to shoot it really looks like it belongs on the rifle. The Ace folder balances the rifle out well too.
  6. None of our Mods should be afraid of standing up the way that they have and will continue to do. I check in here at least twice a day and I see a lot of those topics and discussions that are in question. You are all doing a fine job and furthermore; you should not be bashful about asking any of us for help! I love my saiga and I love this board! I have left many boards because of the reasons that Tim has stated but right now I do not have that desire to go. I see such a great community with such a specific common interest (which is not well-received up here in Ted Kennedy's northeastern st
  7. I dont think it will help the sale sell quickly but like any one-off custom design, the right buyer will come along and snatch it up....for the price you want to ask.
  8. It is a tough call but let me put it this way. I have a x39 20 inch now and my next conversion will def be on a 16 inch, and I solidified that fact in my head tonight as I was wielding it around working on installing a bullet guide. But, from reading your post it looks like you have the close and intermediate range firearms. A 20 inch couldn't hurt. In my opinion, the 20 inch will be more accurate because of the longer sight radius--From an unsupported standing position mine can consistently hit bowling pins on the 150 yard line! If you plan on using optics then as you said, it is a w
  9. The reports we have been seeing on the board here indicate that dimpled receivers need to have the pistol grip hole cut. Non-dimpled ones have it already in place. I am not saying that is the rule, just the consensus. It is a nice looking rifle though. Congrats on the conversion. My next one will def be a 16incher.
  10. 15 well spent hours if I may say so.
  11. WOW! I will tell ya what, everytime that I look at new topics on this board I find something that really impresses me. This is no exception. I would love to see a pic from behind the rear sight, through the scope and with the front sight up. How is the co-witness on there? Great job james. My suggestion...since you have the mill and probably have a jig all set up you should consider becoming a contributor to the board and selling a few of these.
  12. Not only that, but you said that you had a deputy who was a, "ginormous dick." You never know if he is going to be the one taking the call next time. It stinks that the burden is on you but as WJudge said civil court can be a hell of a ride. I have had neighbors like this and based on that experience what might work for you is to document the events, inform the cooperative deputy who was on your property earlier that you are going to be writing a polite letter to your neighbor, send the letter, make a phone call or house visit to the neighbor (be careful that you do not cross the line to h
  13. If you've got the bucks go with an Ace stock. The folder I got from the last group buy is absolutely incredible! I have no regrets with Ace and I will get another one for my next conversion. I know that you do not want to cut the tang but honestly....I don't miss it one bit.
  14. Thanks for the review. I have been thinking about picking up a sight for my 10-22 and for the AK...as soon as the finally make them. Every review I see is a positive one. And that is a nice looking SKS with some great wood!
  15. drool. Tony should make one for us in 7.62
  16. Complete means it has the bolt and bolt carrier...I am assuming? Is this a flat top upper or an A2? 5.56? What is the barrel size? If it is under 16" is the F.H. permanently attached? Pics would def help.
  17. Here is the manual. http://www.millettsights.com//images/instr..._DMS_Manual.pdf The manual is mainly written for people who are mounting it on an AR platform but it has some info on what type of rings to use. They recommend 3.5 inches of eye relief so I would like to say that a side rail mount like this would work. http://www.midwayusa.com/eproductpage.exe/...&t=11082005
  18. My gun shop has a few of those Rossi's in. All different calibers and after picking a few up I have to say that they are made pretty well and handle nice too. Plus, they are dirt cheap.
  19. If I had the cash I would go with the Railed Ultimak gas tube and an Aimpoint Micro mounted on it. With low-profile rings you should be able to co-witness with your irons. Total cost for gas tube and Aimpoint....pushing 550-600 bucks but man does it look sweet.
  20. I got the ergo with the group buy and while it is comfortable to handle and shoot with, I am not impressed with the quality. The trap door on the bottom will not stay seated and the fit between the grip and spacer (the spacer abuts the trigger guard and receiver) leaves a little to be desired. I will and am looking for another grip. The TDI above looks really nice.
  21. These will def sell Tony. There I was cutting a square hole in my receiver two nights ago wishing that there was an appropriate "round" alternative.
