  1. From reading the other post I'm thinking that MikeD supplied him with the mag. So perhaps it was a prototype?
  2. Hawk, Make sure that you have the hole centered over the drum. It could be hitting it and preventing movement. You could also just tap it with a small hammer covered with cloth or leather.
  3. Personally, I would get rid of my shotguns before I got rid of my rifles. In a pinch, I can always use my rifle at closer ranges. Unless I practice indirect fire with slugs, I can't push the shotgun past its max range. WJ, even if you prefer the shotguns, why not hold on to one rifle?
  4. Stealthy, if you are seeing the "vast majority" of saigas fail under match conditions, I'd love to know the where and when of these matches to verify that. The s-12 fragile? Wow man...I don't even know where to begin on that. I would be interested to know exactly what part of that gun is fragile...because I haven't found it. I've had mine a little over a year with the round count creeping up to 1k. My total fte's=2...when I had the gas setting wrong. A lot of the ammo used were Remington Target Loads and the HD OO, OOO, and slugs for function/reliability tests. I also avoided ammo that p
  5. It boggles my mind that someone named gun_guru would spend money buying weapons, NOT shooting them, and basically relying on an unfired, untested weapon as a "behind the bedroom door" gun. I guess I must be an economics guru because I have a bunch of bills to pay.
  6. That needs to be a download add-on for Call of Duty 4. It would nicely replace my gold M1014.
  7. 300 yards is a good benchmark. If you really know how to adjust the dope on your optics you can experiment at further distances. A notebook is handy. Rhodes, the Marine Corps changed their shooting qualification to include firing in field conditions i.e. unknown distance. This is in addition to qualifying in the known distance course which still goes out to 500 meters. Rifle marksmanship in the Corps has never been marginal and the simple fact that no one graduates boot camp unless they qualify proves that there is no degradation in the shooting skill of the basically trained Marine.
  8. You could look into this rig: If you do a search on the forum I think the developer of the rail is a member here.
  9. REKIII, That handguard won't be a drop-in fit for the saiga. You're going to need Dinzag's handguard adapters to attach to the barrel and a gas tube with a handguard slot for it. If you click on the installed pictures you'll see where it attaches to the barrel and the gas tube. Hope that helps.
  10. If you're into seafood like crabs, check out Crabby's in Mays Landing on Route 50. For Italian food check out Joe Italiano's Maplewood Inn on the Black Horse Pike also in May's Landing. Both places are about a half hour from Atlantic City. As far as strip clubs go, Daydreams in Philly is a BYOB place and is really popular with bachelor parties. Because they don't serve alcohol the girls get naked completely (or so I've been told). Even though it's in Philly, I'm sure you're not going to run into your ex there...right?
  11. AA best of luck to your son and I'm sorry to hear for his loss.
  12. I think he likes the Saiga-12....a lot. The rules of grammar and spelling...not so much. (Somewhere out there, the Catholic nun who taught me grammar is looking for her extra-heavy yardstick, muttering about dangling participles.)
  13. I'm trying to convince the wife to go down there and visit with me. She can't stand flying. Cebu was great in the 70's...if you didn't mind living under a dictator. I'll take sleet over martial law any day. I'm generally apolitical. But let me say this, I was born 9 mos. before Martial Law was declared and as far as I'm concerned this current government may not be the best; but it's the best comparatively in my lifetime. If you're a tourist it's an absolute non-issue, unless you make it one. Cebu right now is the island of friendly service and inexpensive seafood and spa services. No

  15. The little button sticking out of the dust cover attached to the gas piston and return spring is spring loaded. You can push it in, making room for the dust cover to return back to it's original position and when it clears the little hole, it pops right out keeping the dust cover in place. Hope that helps.
  16. +1 to that. Besides, it just goes to prove the old adage true in that wherever you go, there are always going to be assholes. As far as I'm concerned, they are free to wallow in their assholiness as long as they do no harm to me or mine. I can't change them anyway.
  17. Is it monsoon season down there? I seem to remember that the summer months were always wet when I was growing up in Cebu.
  18. AA what OS is your shop running? If you're running OSX getting a virtual desktop application might be a less expensive option.
  19. So let me get this straight. Your wife is basically paying you $1k to knock her up? I'm not participating in this thread. Racer_27 is obviously a man-whore! Get your he-pussy out there and make some money! Seriously dude if you did have a grand to spend, get a Krugerrand. No it's not a gun but it might go a long way towards providing for your newborn.
  20. That's exactly where we are going. We've been going there for years but this the first time we are doing the horse swim. I frickin' love that area. Quiet, people are polite, plenty of fishing, and really good crab joints. We have a house rented for the week. I've been doing some light research and can't seem to figure out where VA stands as far as tourists bringing their guns. I know there isn't a word mentioned in the rental agreement...and I'm not going to ask either.
